His workmanship was extremely poor, and he lacked the necessary skills, ability, and attention to detail required for the job. There was paint overspray on my door knobs and floors; paint drips on my sink and countertops, footprints of paint throughout my house, and paint splatter on the trim. He was unable to complete a toilet installation without my husband's correction and direction, which showed that he lacked the knowledge and experience necessary to complete the job that he stated he was qualified for. While attempting to install the new toilet, he left a huge burn mark on the finish from the sparks from his grinding wheel. After he left for the night, we noticed he had not even tightened the tank to the base. He also managed to break over half of the vertical blinds on our bedroom window, which we hadn't noticed until after we kicked him out. It is clear that he has no business acting as a handyman or contractor. When we pointed out the problem areas and asked him to fix the issues, he said that he would put a lien on our house as if we were not going to pay him. We have absolutely no problem paying for a job in full, but we expect the work to be finished without drip marks and crooked lines. Overall, I strongly advise against hiring Albert Martin for home improvement projects. We fired him halfway through the job to stop further unnecessary repairs. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere for a skilled handyman.

I LOVE that, Emily (his girlfriend and partner) is part of the package. Not only is she super competent and calm and charming, if you are a woman who is in need of this service, it is a nice, refreshing surprise to be greeted by another woman and to feel safe and at ease in her presence. So many times it is a man who responds and I can see how some women could be worried or uneasy depending on the man. So what a nice thing to see Emily! And, she is not just along to watch, this chick rocks! She knows exactly what she's doing and it shows. Now, I have to tell you how amazing Freddy is too. He is a polite, funny man that listens very carefully to what you want done and responds appropriately. His manner is always respectful and if he says he will be at your house at a certain time, he will. He also calls to let one know that he is almost there. But it wouldn't matter how nice or how polite he was if his work couldn't stand on its own...and it certainly does. Not only was his quote to me over the phone (none of this bull*(&^t about not being able to give a quote unless he came over to take a look!) the absolute best I received, he was able to come out immediately and do the gig, AND, I discovered that he was a perfectionist about the work done. He checked and double-checked the work and took his time to do it correctly. No shortcuts. No lazy attitude or talking down to me in a patronizing manner. Just professional and warm. No pushiness to do other work either, but politely let me know he was always available and no job is too big or too small for him. So, my brand new air conditioner is installed perfectly and running as I type this. Even though it was a bit larger than the guys at Home Depot told me it would be, Freddy was able to modify the installation just enough to get it to fit perfectly! Yay! So happy!! Freddy and Emily do everything from electrical work to painting/drywall, to plumbing, to tile work to appliance repair/maintenance and even little odds and ends-type of issues such as ceiling fan installs or screen door repair etc... These two individuals were a pleasure to meet and to employ. They were even great with our giant dog! Lol! So if you want to bypass the regular old, grouchy handyman and feel at ease and secure, without sacrificing competence, give Freddy and Emily a call!

My initial impression of Greg was positive, very amiable, showed up on-time on a Sunday to help clean my carpet for moving out of a rental unit. He gave me a quote that sounded reasonable, only a little bit more expensive than other quotes that I received but I gladly accepted because I wanted to pay for quality. He finished the job in a reasonable amount of time and did a much better job than I ever could have done myself, so I am very happy with the results of the difficult-to-remove stains, and it was worth every penny.
