Looking for an underrated restaurant located in Midtown Savannah? Have a craving for delicious authentic Filipino cuisine? Needing a spot with vibes and great service? Regardless of how you answered - check out The Narra Tree!!! Stopped in one evening for a bite to eat. The staff was tremendously friendly and helpful. We ordered based on their recommendations as we weren't familiar with Filipino food. They were patient and help direct us to some our of our now new favorite food. Now what to order... Lumpia - start here! They have both a chicken and vegetable option. A crispy eggroll/springroll that is simple but packs so much flavor. Same with the Chicken Inasal and the Chicken Pancit! Great portion sizes and delicious food. Both will make you leave wanting more!
I was greeted upon entry and decided to sit at the bar. The customer service was really good. My waitress didn't mind giving me recommendations, and she even shared her favorites upon request. She was very attentive although it was busy. The dining area is nice. I decided to try the chicken lumpia, which are egg rolls made with ground chicken, cabbage, carrots, and toasted sesame oil. They are served with sweet chili sauce. They were fresh, hot, and tasty. I thoroughly enjoyed them! I also ordered the Inihaw chicken served with rice and a garlic vinegar dip. I wish it had a savory sauce to bring the dish together, as I didn't care for the garlic vinegar dip. I also ordered a dragonfruit lemonade that was really refreshing! I will return for the lumpia, and hopefully I'll find something else I like.
I ordered Karekare and my husband the liempo. They were both good! Service was quick and ambiance feels like someone's dining room. 4.4 stars.
We spent Saturday in Savannah, Georgia, and for lunch, stopped at The Narra Tree, a Filipino restaurant tucked along Hodgson Memorial Drive. The scent alone, savory, smoky, and rich with garlic and soy, was enough to stop us in our tracks. We began with the chicken lumpia. Cut on the bias and plated open-faced, it was crisp and golden, the kind of snack that makes you wish you'd ordered two. Hot, perfectly seasoned, and ideal for dipping, it set the tone for what was to come. Then came the mains: sisig and bulalo, two of the most comforting dishes in the Filipino canon. The sisig arrived dramatically, sputtering and sizzling its way through the dining room, drawing every eye as it landed on the table. The diced pork and liver pate melded with calamansi and soy, the egg and garlic aioli crowning it with richness. Each bite was a balance of acidity, salt, and fat--a perfect mouthful of home. The bulalo followed, a deep bowl of slow-simmered beef shank, vegetables, and broth so rich it practically shimmered. The meat fell apart at the touch, and the bone marrow, once scraped and stirred into the soup, transformed the broth into something even more indulgent. On a rainy Savannah afternoon, it felt like medicine for the soul. The Narra Tree is exactly what a Filipino restaurant should be--warm, unpretentious, and deeply comforting. 4 out of 5 A cozy, flavorful taste of the Philippines that makes you feel right at home.
The Narra Tree Restaurant has a welcoming vibe with décor and atmosphere that make you want to linger. We tried the beef kare-kare sauce and veggies were solid, though the beef itself was a bit plain. The adobo fries were the standout: great flavor and something different in the best way. The sisig was good too and definitely worth ordering. Friendly customer service rounds out the experience. A nice spot to try when you're in the area.
I had the opportunity to try Narra Tree and it was amazing! We tried a variety of things on their menu starting with appetizers: Chicken lumpia which were so crunchy and delicious! For my main meal a I had: Liempo (lee*yem poh) Grilled Pork Belly but my favorite was the desserts! We couldn't pick just one so we got the Ube Tiramisu and the Leche Flan if you ever get a chance to try this Filipino restaurant I promise you nothing but flavorable food and a great atmosphere!
This place is the real deal... it tastes almost identical to my Filipino grandmother's cooking!!! Went alone on a Saturday evening around 7pm and it was pretty quiet. My server was very attentive and everything I ordered came out fast. Will definitely be coming back to try more menu items.
Delicious Filipino food with very healthy portions for the price. I went with the Chicken Inasal which came with 2 large pieces of chicken and had great flavor and crispiness to it. I also got a side of Sour Soup (Sinigang) which was a pint for $5 which is plenty of soup to have leftovers and also had a lot of great flavor. I did take out but was greeted immediately upon entering so I can only assume there's the great Filipino customer service for dining in. The store also looked very clean and had a lot of nice Filipino decor around. Will definitely be going regularly.
This restaurant is officially in my top 5 favorite restaurants in Savannah. Narra Tree is an absolute gem for anyone craving authentic Filipino comfort food. We ordered the bulalo soup, chicken adobo, pork pancit, and of course, lumpia--and every single dish was packed with flavor and generously portioned. The bulalo was rich and hearty, with tender beef and a flavorful broth that warmed the soul. The chicken adobo was perfectly balanced--savory, tangy, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The pork pancit was loaded with flavor and came in a portion big enough to feed a small army (not that we're complaining!). And the lumpia? Crispy, golden, and gone in seconds. Everything we ordered came out hot, fresh, and clearly made with love. The portions were more than fair--they were abundant. We left full, happy, and with enough leftovers to cover lunch for a week! The staff was warm and welcoming, and the space had a cozy, inviting vibe that made the whole experience feel like a home-cooked meal shared with family.
Very cool service and decor. We enjoyed our food, but it was just ok. Not amazing. I thought the garlic fried rice could have been much more garlicky.
We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! Very charming and well decorated. Our server was great and gave us really good suggestions. All the dishes we ordered were delicious and the drinks were refreshing! Desserts were also amazing. Definitely will come back
I had dinner here to wrap up my travel time in Savannah and ate their ox tail kare kare, a savory peanut-based stew with veggies and bagoong (shrimp paste). I loved the taste so much that I ate the entire serving--it had me thinking of my mom's cooking and life and I honestly almost cried in there lol. I enjoyed my meal with a San Miguel beer and would've loved desert if I had eaten only half of my meal and taken the rest of the kare kare to go. I also ordered a bowl of sour soup with my meal, which was delicious too but ambitious--I took that to go. Hazel, who took my order, was very friendly and made sure I felt welcomed. I enjoyed conversing with her and another regular during my evening there, and also enjoyed the layout of this restaurant. I loved learning about the history of this place and knowing that the Filipino community here has a spot for their food in this area. Also, they sell Filipino pride clothing--I was especially surprised to see a barong tagalog on display! I can't wait to visit this place next time I'm in town, hopefully on a night where they have karaoke!

Food was delicious and service was great too! The only reason it's not 5 stars is that we really wanted the Halo Halo and they were out. but the flan was delicious too. read more

Great spot if you're looking to change it up a bit and try something new.. The Lumpia's were on point, same for the bbq Chicken and Beef combo plate.. The pork belly could have been finished a bit crispier but overall great flavor and house made sauces. Don't forget the San Miguel's too, quite a solid Filipino lager.. read more

We look for Filipino cuisine when traveling and found the restaurant on Yelp. The ambiance is relaxed and welcoming. We ordered at least 10 entrees, shared between 6 hungry adults and still had some leftovers. The food was delicious and well- presented. There was only one dish ("Bicol Express") that we didn't enjoy due to its lack of a vegetable that's typically in this dish. In fact, there was no vegetable at all in the dish. The review rate is 4.5 stars due to this. Service was excellent; Hazel was able to answer all our questions and was attentive and patient. We'll go there again next time we're in Savannah. read more

First want to start by saying our server was an absolute sweetheart and I need to write down her name so I can update this, because she's been nothing short of amazing the last two times we've gone. So starting off strong with the service. Next the ambience is pretty chill, it's a very cute restaurant with good decor. Lastly, the food is PHENOMENAL. We ordered everything our server suggested and it was all so fresh and delicious. We ended up ordering takeout like 5 days later because I couldn't stop thinking about the food. This is going to be a new staple in our weekly rotation for sure!!! read more

I've been to a lot of Filipino restaurants in various cities and this one in regards to ambiance is definitely at the top for me. Most Filipino restaurants tend to give more of a mom and pop vibe, but this one was so nice for a date or girls day. They had really cute decor, and picture worthy food presentation. Not only that, but everything we ate was so tasty and gave the traditional Filipino flavors in a nice, comfortable dining experience. The adobo fries were an amazing twist on a loaded fry. Also, the service we received was very friendly and welcoming. read more

My home away from home! We went to this place due to the fact that it's one of the only Filipino spots in the area and since I'm Filipino myself, I was not disappointed with the experience. Employees are super nice and fast, food was DELICIOUS and the decor and overall feel of the restaurant was calm and nature-y. The owner even gifted us with some extra unused bamboo placemats that she had in the back when she overheard us talking about how much we loved how they looked and wanting to eventually buy similar looking ones for ourselves. Truly the nicest gesture ever, 100/10 will be coming back read more

We were so excited to see that there was lechon on the menu and came by to eat it! We ended up getting the lumpia, lechon, chicken adobo, halo halo, AND the coconut, Ube, and I believe pandan bread. Everything was so delicious! My boyfriend especially loved how flavorful the adobo was. Out of the bread, we liked the coconut and pandan(green) the best! Will definitely be back to try the pancit next and grab more bread. Oh and I love that you can order and pay right from your phone using the QR code they have on each table. Definitely makes it easier to pay. read more

I think I ordered the wrong thing here.. the chicken lumpia was awesome! The mama Mia mocktail was a guava juice with some strawberry flavor and seltzer, very refreshing. The shrimp pansit was definitely not my favorite.. I did like the glass noodles but not the other type of noodle (I usually do!) and it was all pretty bland as a general whole. The veggies were fresh but I probably won't order this again. We also got the tapsilog, the beef was nice and flavorful, the rice tasty but dry and the eggs way over cooked. 2 meals and an appetizer was about 45$ for lunch. I did see that my neighbor ordered some bbq meats on a stick and I am DEFINITELY getting that next time. The service was nice, the restaurant is adorable and the mocktail was delicious.. this place definitely has potiential to go up in stars.. but as of now I'm not running to go back. read more

We just arrived in Savannah after a long day of driving and were pretty hungry for a good meal. Instead we found a great meal at The Narra Tree. I ordered the pork lumpia and the grilled pork belly. The lumpia was simply delicious. Crispy outer shell with perfectly seasoned pork and veggies inside. I had to force myself to stop just to save room for my entrée. It was a great decision because the grilled pork blew me away. It tasted like a sunny day on the 4th of July. It was like the heavens parted a ray of sunshine landed on my plate. I found myself doing a little happy dance with every bite. The point is that you should really try the grilled pork belly. Highly recommend going here multiple times. Happy eating. I'm visiting a nearby base for work and found this gem . It has plenty of parking and is a good size restaurant with plenty of seating. My server was very kind and accommodating. She was very attentive in that there was no wait, she kept my drink full and was just all-around amazing. The food came out fast and was served hot. I am impressed with the food. It's definitely a place I will visit again the next time I'm in the area. I had the Chicken Adobo as it's my favorite dish along with a small order of Veggie Lumpia's. Neither disappointed and I know good Chicken Adobo from bad. If you are looking for great food, great atmosphere, and great service look no further. Check them out!!! read more

Came here again july 2023, and there have been improvements since last time. They have also expanded as a restaurant and have more to offer, which is exciting. Our meats were cooked to perfection and delicious. I love the traditional vinegar dipping sauce and the side of pickled onion is a plus too! Our waitress was attentive and welcoming. It's a glimpse of gratitude to just sit here and enjoy food and watch other people bonding over Filipino food. It's a similar feeling that brings me to the inclusivity we have back home. I am so happy that Savannah has a place like this and I hope they continue to stay for the long run. read more
