This bar is run very unprofessionally. They have a handful of loyal regulars but everyone outside of that is treated badly. Think about hosting your band here? Well the people you bring might be banned for breaking a jug. I'm not kidding, that's what happened to us. Please read the whole review to see our side and see how unprofessional the bar is run and how unfairly we were treated.
We came to see the band my husband used to play in and not only were we completely ignored by Sonia at the bar for the first 5 minutes, but once we were served, a pitcher of beer accidentally fell off our table and it broke. When we went to pay our tab they told us it would be an additional $60 because of the broken jug. We all thought this was unfair and maybe illegal but we paid it anyways not wanting any trouble as we were about to leave. After we paid our bill, two of us girls went to the bathroom before we called a cab to go home. We were talking in the bathroom amongst us about how unfair we thought being charged the broken jug was (regardless if we were right or wrong this is where the story turns). That's when our server started talking to us from the stall! She was in the bathroom with us and overheard our conversation! She started getting confrontational about how justified the broken jug was. I countered back saying don't you guys have insurance for these kinds of things? And then she came out of her stall and told us we were now being kicked out. I was washing my hands and my friend was still in her stall going to the bathroom. I told her we we're leaving anyways. Then she opened the bathroom door to the main hallway and yells for her boss Sonia. We finished up in the bathroom agreeing that this is ridiculous but whatever cuz we're leaving anyways. We walked through the bar to go outside and are now meeting my husband outside. We're about to leave but the boss Sonia comes out and gets
confrontational. She's trying to kick us out (just based on what the server from the bathroom has told her) and I said we're leaving but I asked her don't you guys have insurance for these things? And she goes back into the bar and I can here her yelling from inside now "hahaha she think insurance covers this?!" She comes back out and kicks us out again even tho we're already outside. I said we are leaving. She's now getting close to me and putting her hand/fingers in my face telling me to leave. I tell her to "get her hands out of my face" and she says "they're not in your face" I said "well they're more close to my body then they are to yours". So she backs away a bit and started telling me to "smile for the camera, smile for the camera" so I would look at a camera so I would be banned or something. So we just walk away to get a cab somewhere else. But to top it all off, the bars loyal customers started yelling at as we're leaving just solely based on Sonia telling us to leave, which was based on her server, who heard a conversation in the bathroom. Funny thing is, we actually witnessed another man being kicked out that same night and we thought he had it coming. Wow. How different we view that now. These people
Are so unprofessional. This is no way to run a business. And I don't need to
Own a business to know that. If your $60 now costs you more money in the future, that's bad business because we will never come back. Was it worth it? I'm not sure. But they will most likely keep this bad behaviour and detour future regulars. If Covid didn't kill this bar, Sonia surely will with her poor business skills. Take caution going here unless you're already a regular. read more
