We've been supporting The Naked Cupcake for 6-7 years, and it is our favorite place for desserts of any kind in this area! Our first few experiences were custom order cakes, which were around the initial COVID-19 outbreak. Sandra made sure the orders were still completed and took every precaution possible to ensure things would work out for our birthdays. We would then visit The Naked Cupcake at other locations they appeared until they finally opened their own physical store in Lake Nona, which we visit monthly! Aside from the obvious deliciousness of these cupcakes, they have amazing rewards and deals that make you always want to support. There are BOGO opportunities, discounts, celebrations and more. Each week. There's also a monthly rotation of special cupcakes, that are always phenomenal in flavor. You even have chances to contribute flavor concepts if you follow on Instagram. They truly go out of the way to maintain a relationship with the customers, and to ensure there is value to long-term support. One more thing that I feel is unique and speaks to the ambiance of the shop - they feature local creators and products from small businesses. I tried the Salty Sweet and the Lucky Leprechaun cupcakes and both were amazing! I definitely recommend going for a salty + sweet combo the balance of flavors is perfect. Every cupcake was packed with flavor and tasted incredibly fresh. The experience is just as good as the treats. The staff greeted me warmly right when I walked in, which always makes a difference. It's usually not too crowded, so I love being able to watch them decorate the cupcakes right in front of me. Each one is made and dressed to order, which makes it feel extra special. The Naked Cupcake has so much charm! There are birthday parties, decorating classes, and welcoming staff. All centered around delicious cupcakes that you can either customize yourself, or select from their perfectly curated rotating and seasonal flavors. This isn't really a sit down eatery, but there are areas to enjoy a cup of coffee, a scoop of ice cream, or even your perfectly prepared cupcake. Just don't go looking to meet up with friends and sit for a few hours, this is a sweet treat, not a spot to eat. The shop is cute, well decorated and clean with some prepackaged treats and crafty gifts for sale. Located in a bit of a strip mall type location the parking can be tight, but it is definitely worth it, and if you have to walk a bit further to your car after grabbing your treat, just consider it pre-paying for those calories! They have seasonal flavors that you can choose from. My mom is basic and wanted a vanilla cupcake with chocolate frosting -- no toppings whatsoever. I opted for the S'mores cupcake and a Christmas-flavored curated one. My sister got a vanilla cupcake with a raspberry filling. We all noted that the cupcakes were moist and had a good ratio of frosting to cupcake. I do not recommend The Naked Cupcakes. I recently relocated to the Lake Nona area and stopped by twice and tried various flavors from their cupcakes lineup. The red velvet cupcakes never disappointed. My husband expressed since the red velvet cupcakes were delicious, he wanted to order his birthday cake from the shop. I went to the shop to get information and pricing and ordered a cake. Upon arrival, I asked a young lady at the front about cake options and pricing and she told me she don't know nothing about the cakes and I told her to please bring out someone who does have knowledge. A man came from the back and acknowledged he didn't speak English well and took order. I was told the order would be available for pickup at 10:00 am. I got to the shop at 10:30 am and the door was locked. I looked at the sign and noticed it said they didn't open until 11:00 am. Once they showed me the cake, it was different than what I explained I wanted on the order placed. Upon serving the cake at the birthday party, it was severely dry and a total disappointment. I wasted over $135 on an overpriced dry cake. So disappointed and now I will need to look for another bakery for future events. read more

The variety of cake and frosting flavors alone was very exciting--but the fact that you can get unlimited toppings was even better! I went with a vanilla base (which is delicious) the cookies and cream frosting, Oreos and Reese's pieces with a caramel glaze. The buttercream is fantastic. I am going to have to find another reason to make it to Lake Nona to try more. The restaurants is small, but we were able to sit and eat our cupcakes in the available seating. Service was quick and courteous. And they partner with Kelly's (my fave) so you can add a scoop if you are inclined. We got so many compliments at my little boys birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese. They made the cake perfect from the colors of the frosting, they even added some special colors to the batter. She told me they did and it was chocolate today (because it switches from that or vanilla). The 3 people I interacted with in person were very nice and helpful. I also saw they sell Kelly's Handmade Ice Cream there (8 different flavors, not sure if those rotate) & coffee and a dairy free option (cookies & cream)! What a breath of fresh air! I am a renowned procrastinator and started looking for specialty cupcakes (I was looking for themed, gluten free and gluten free and vegan cupcakes) too close to my event. I took a flyer and called the Naked cupcake. I left a message AND texted. They weren't at all annoyed with my double outreach. They checked to make sure they were able to accommodate my request. It's nice to have 2-in-1 cupcake and ice cream shop near where I am, but I was a bit disappointed in the vegan flavors. I went in with eager anticipation when I noticed they had "flavor of the day" vegan and gluten-free options on the menu, but turns out they actually only have one vegan flavor: vanilla (occasionally chocolate). Not much variety at all. When I went on a Sunday, they had 3 types of vegan frosting at least (vanilla, chocolate, cookies n cream), so I customized a 6-pack ($30) of entirely vanilla cupcakes. It's nice that you can see how they dress and top the cupcakes behind the counter, kind of like when they make rolled ice cream in front of you. However the lady ended up changing my order without telling me until it was already done, which could be an issue for some. I didn't mind because her changes added more variety in the flavor combinations. However as I was arriving home minutes after receiving the cupcakes, the frosting had slid off half of them and was oozing through the lid, making it a mess to eat. Other than a bit of chaos, the cupcakes tasted great and soft, and the frosting was silky sweet. I'd be back if they offer more vegan flavors! read more

They've done it again! This is my third time ordering custom gluten free cakes, cupcakes and cake pops for my daughter who has Celiac Disease and they have done a wonderful job each time. The cakes are always beautiful and delicious, but most importantly safe for her to eat. We have never had any issues with cross contamination with their products.
