When I arrive the receptionist was dismissive, just said pick a color and wait. I picked a color from the dip powder bucket, they were all mixed up and I kept getting colors that were not available for dip. The nail tech cut me while clear my cuticles 3 times. She said you have dry skin, as if I had never had my nails done before. She also took a phone call, stopped doing my nails and talked on the phone. I'm genuinely so upset with how my nails came out. I didn't notice until I left but let me start by saying that I've gone here for years and have NEVER had an issue. I go in today asking for a full set of acrylics with French tips. The lady was very polite I will say but I asked for the color bubble bath & she said yes we have it. Well as she's doing my nails she starts doing dip... which is weird bc I didn't ask for it but I was like ok maybe they came out w it in a dip form. Well turns out she just didn't use the color I asked for & I even showed her a picture for reference. I'm not a perfectionist so I knew it wouldn't look exactly like the picture but I mean my nails look NOTHING like it. She didn't even match up my tips on each hand to make sure they were even. That was my first red flag but my gosh the nail shapes on my left hand don't even match some are pointy and some are round.... Let alone match my right hand. This place is absolutely terrible. I went in on a Sunday with a friend because it was open. We both got pedicures, I figured you can't mess up a pedicure, right? WRONG. The nail techs were very nice, but the pedicure?The worst shellac pedicure I've ever gotten done. The most important thing to me about a nail salon is cleanliness. The nail buffer that was used on me? USED. The sponge to remove dead skin on the bottom of my feet? USED. I wish I would have noticed right away, that's absolutely disgusting. The only reason I noticed was because the person next to me was getting a pedicure, and they ended up using the same items I paid $45 and still tipped, because I'm not a terrible person. I made my appointment two days ago I came in at ten am. The girl was nice and recommended I get coffin nails opposed too square. Honestly $60 acrylic nails for a first time customer is crazy to me, the last place I went too tried to scam me so I'm sensitive when the wall and website says $30 acrylic sets and you charge me $60 plus $10 tip I'm going to side eye you. I felt rushed out she didn't even do my cuticles which was odd. I felt like I was a inconvenience to them but maybe since it was ten am? 2019 Review I noticed there are a lot of old and negative reviews on here. I'm don't usually leave reviews but I think it's important when a decent business has so many bad ones. I went in around 5pm on a Thursday and they were busy but there was no wait. The tech that did my full set was professional and easy to talk to. I don't usually like chit-chat but she was welcoming. The other techs were also very friendly with their customers. She did a great job - no think acrylic and no globby paint job. I also asked about pricing and was surprised to hear a full set with acrylics is $25, Gel $35, Dip $45 - which is great pricing if you have been anywhere else. I came in and it wasn't busy, it's clean too. There was a young lady at a table, where my daughter sat at, so I assumed that she would be servicing her. She continued watching/playing with her iPad. Then she got up, grabbed the color, sat back down and continue with her iPad. Maybe the other nail tech saw my face because I was surely confused, then she gets up, walks to the main desk and plays in her iPad more, I'm still standing behind my daughter and the other nail tech says, to me, sit down. I ignore her. Another nail tech walks in and she sits down at the table where my daughter is and starts on. No communication, rude and for sure could work on communication. The nail job was so so. I tried out the nail lounge because my go to salon isn't open on Sunday's and i was in desperate need and it will be my first and last time. Staff was friendly but my dip was breaking and popping off 3 days after getting them done. I have consistently had dip for 2+ years from many salons and it has never lifted, broke and popped off the way it is. Not to mention he used a shellac topcoat with LED light for the final coat instead of the dip topcoat. read more

One of the worst manicures I've ever had. I was supposed to get a pedicure as well, however I asked to cash out instead. My cuticles are ripped up and actually bled in a few spots. The paint job is all over the cuticle and finger. The place itself is quite messy and does not instill total confidence that they do a great job sanitizing their tools. Worst pedicure and eyebrow waxing I have ever had! The lighting in this shop is horrible! Dark and dreary. Had eyebrow waxing in back room where lighting was even worse. Came home with a glob of wax in my hair and brows not finished. Feet after pedi felt more dry/cracked than before. Technician was Amy and would not recommend. I called on a Thursday to make an appointment for Friday morning and they fit me in exactly at the time I asked for. I went and the place was very cute and modern inside. I was greeted immediately and taken directly back to my spa chair for my pedicure. The manicure and pedicure probably only took about an hour and half to complete. The girl was friendly, nice, and did great work. It is hard to find someone you can really like. I also like this salon because they offer OPI Axxium Soak Off Gel nail polish! This polish stays on your finger nails for weeks at a time and has no chipping! There is only like 3 or 4 salons in all the metro Detroit area that offer this polish. Price wise it definitely is higher in cost than must places. But overall a manicure, pedicure, nail design, gel polish, and tip cost me $75. But I won't have to be getting my nails done for another month! Which will be super nice! Stop and check out this posh nail salon! And request Lynn, because she did an awesome job! read more

This place is quickly becoming my go to nail place. I always get a shellac manicure and I have tried a handful of the places around. They have a ton of shellac colors, more than I've seen at other places. I've never had nail art done here, but I have seen many people get it done and they never flinch at the requests. Also, I've never made an appointment, I'm always a walk in, and I have yet to have a wait (though, I never go during high volume times/days like the weekends). The only drawback, is it is pricier than other nail salons. They charge $35 for a shellac manicure. But their polish tends to last the full 14 days and the color choices negate the extra cost. read more

Then after the fact, I realized that she was using the RUSTIEST pair of clippers I've ever seen... I was handed off to a different nail tech because the girl started freaking out, then HE CUT MY CUTICLE on the SAME finger...and decided it would be okay to proceed with filing and got BLOOD on the file, AND PUT IT BACK IN THE DRAWER TO USE AGAIN! The owner has done my nails twice for a manicure and I was not happy with it AT ALL. The cuticles were all tore up and the painting was done quickly and poorly both times. I asked him to remove the polish and he did and I asked another lady that was free to redo them. She was very sweet and redid my manicure and painting and she did a nice job. I've been to The Nail Lounge a few times and have always thought they were overpriced for pedicures, but the people seem nice and professional and the hours are convenient. I visited the nail salon today and had the worst experience ever! I'm not one to complain, but this time was bad. The lady I had barely spoke English at all. She didn't even greet me. The pedicure water was a little cool so she turned on the hot water and walked away. I called her back when I noticed the tub filling up and nearly overflowing. I told her it was a little hot at that point. She just turned and walked away completely ignoring me. During the pedicure she cut my skin and made me bleed pretty bad. I had asked for a solid color on my toes with a white anchor painted on the big toe. She tried her best but did the design facing me (when i specifically asked her to make them face away from me). Moving onto the manicure....She was super rough, and seemed like she was rushing to get done. She removed some of my cuticles but left the rest of the skin all jagged. She did not do a massage, she pretty much just rubbed lotion on my hands super fast and rough. I asked her to use a silver glitter polish during the pedicure and she proceeded to use a gold glitter polish instead. I wanted an anchor painted on my ring fingers to match my toes and she did a TERRIBLE job. Those are also facing me, not facing away like they should be. You cant even tell what it is and there are no clean lines in the simple "artwork". The manicurist didnt care to ask me if i liked them, she just moved me over to let me dry. THEN decided to start working on her own nails after rushing through mine. I left The Nail Lounge paying $70.00 for a mani/pedi with regular polish. I am very unsatisfied and have a cruise to go on with nails that look like a kindergartner painted them. I will not be going back to this place, and I recommend you stay far away from here!!!! read more
