Thought after a recent Facebook post on improved top coat that the dip manicure service would be a different experience from another review left here. Wrong. After my technician completed my nails, I had mentioned to another technician that I'd rather just have the dip powder taken off because it looked terrible. The top coat dried so that the nail didn't appear shiny or even smooth! The technician was told by the owner to put an Orly gel top coat on top. The gel coat wasn't sealed on all of the nails and was still tacky. Lint embedded into some of the nails after a while. Not even 4 hours later, it began peeling off. Such a waste of money and not at all how dip manicures are done. Why offer them?! Now I have to go elsewhere to get this taken off and pay for it. I'm disappointed to have to give 1 star, but this is a warning for anyone doing a dip powder manicure. First the good things...Everyone was very nice and welcoming (I was part of a wedding party so the group of us were there together). The space itself is very clean as well. Lastly, my nails looked decent initially. Also- you get a complimentary drink with each service, though no one in my group was told this until over halfway through our appointment (and we all had bought coffee prior to have for the bridal party at the salon). On to the bad...I was told the salon does dip powder manicures, but there were a lot of issues. First, I already had a prior dip manicure that needed to be removed. I'm used to someone wrapping my nails with acetone cotton balls and foil, letting it sit for a while, and then removing everything from each nail, electric buffing, etc. Here, they have you put your fingers in bowls of acetone until the mani comes off (they charge for that, just a heads up), and then they start the manicure. Once the manicure began, it was pretty clear that the lady doing my nails hadn't done many dip manicures. She took instruction from her boss who was next to her doing someone else's nails. My nails are long and somewhat pointed, so I asked they continue to have that shape. She told me she doesn't usually get that request, and had a hard time with it. She filed so hard on my middle finger trying to shave the side of my nail, that she cut through my skin and made me bleed (I told her and she apologized). I wasn't happy with the sides of my nails, but because it hurt from how she was doing it (even though I told her), I didn't ask her to fix the rest of the sides. From there, she began buffing my nails with a square buffer (nothing electric). She was a little rough, but I let it go for a bit. She started the actual dip powder process: First, while she kept asking me what I thought (and I appreciated that), the manicure needed a lot of touch ups. The powder spilled to the sides of my nails at the skin line, etc. and I had to specifically ask her to fix all of that. Once done, she started using the square buffer again to smooth out the dried powder manicure. (I'm really surprised they don't use an electric buffer for this, as every other salon I've been to uses those tools). That's where the buffing really started hurting my skin/cuticles. I had to keep telling her where my fingers were sore, which I don't think is something I should have to do considering she's been doing nails for 20+ years. They decided to use a shellac top coat (used for gel manicures), because they'd been 'having issues' with the dip top coat. It looked fine at the salon once done. (Not totally happy since they didn't clean up my skin/cuticles much). I asked for cuticle oil and they put that on. My fingers were stinging, but I was just glad to be done, and wished I didn't get a dip manicure at a salon that doesn't know how to properly do one. The even bigger reason for the bad review? The top clear coat peeled on the majority of my nails that night and next day. I have scabs on my fingers. And the manicure itself just does not look good at this point. I'm absolutely unhappy with what I was left with. I have never 1) had a top coat peel, or 2) have scabs all over my fingers from a salon not knowing how to properly buff/file. read more

Met the owner she was taking care of my wife, we did the couples relaxation petti. Had a yummy spritzer while I sat in a very comfortable massaging chair as my feet were brought back to life by skilled hands. They were so nice, I wasn't sure what to expect as a man, but they sure made me feel at home and among friend. Which is saying a lot as I had recently hurt myself and had two black eyes and other facial bruising. Love the building , walls are very cool you have to see. Parking was easy we were on the street rite in front. I believe there was a lot a few yards away too. After the pedi we walked up town and enjoyed some food which is rare we are usually running our own place in Fillmore. Thank you ladies of the nail bar, we will be back and appreciate your efforts. We had a wedding party booked for manicures and pedicures. They only had two girls handling a large party so these services were stretched out for 4 hours. The 25.00 manicure was a joke. Cuticles were not treated and barely addressed with trimming that left hangnail shavings on the nail. Several girls complained of this. For 25.00 you basically received a quick file and polish. Soooo not worth it. Both Mother's of the bride and groom scheduled pedicures and were told after their manicures they didn't have time. I was never offered anything to drink. Not even a water. My actual polish wasn't completely to the ends of my nails and white tips showed through with the navy blue polish. The whole experience was not what they advertised, was poor quality and VERY disappointing. Save your money and paint your own nails or find a better place. read more
