Beautiful spa! This was my first time going to this spa. After check in I was shown the locker, but wasn't shown where to change, so I had to look around the locker room myself to find it. My massage was lovely! I wasn't told that they only do cash tips. So I was extremely disappointed to be checking out to learn that I couldn't add a tip for her, and had no cash on hand. Very disappointed with the scheduling and communication at Healing Elements. I was placed on a waiting list specifically for a deep tissue massage due to a shoulder issue. After being notified of a cancellation, I called to confirm the appointment and was told they had confirmed the provider for me. When I arrived, I was assigned a completely different therapist because appointments had been switched the day before -- without notifying me. I took time off work for this appointment. Management acknowledged the mistake and understood why I was upset but offered no resolution because I still received a massage. While the massage itself was fine, this is not the first scheduling issue I've experienced here, and the continued lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable read more

Would leave 0 stars I would strongly discourage anyone considering buying a gift card to reconsider. I was gifted a gift card from my family for over $400 yes $400 this was in November 2020. When I called earlier this summer I found my gift card had no balance because it depreciated. READ THAT TWICE! $400+ GONE NEVER USED. I got nothing but a to bad so sad sorry. This was my 2cd visit to this salon. My appointment was with Melissa. I was scheduled for a full highlight and haircut. After about a 10 minute consult explaining what my goals were for this visit, Melissa mixed up the product and started on my hair. She did a partial foil highlight and said she would be back to check on me. I asked her if she was finished foiling. She said yes. I explained that I had booked a full highlight. Melissa argued with me and said the back didn't need it as it would all blend together. I'm a hairdresser myself, so I know the difference. The back of my head would not match the front with highlights. She seemed mad but went ahead and finished the foils for the full highlight I booked. ​ For the haircut, I asked for a wolf cut. A layerd long shag basically with curtain bangs. I didn't want to take off more than 2 inches the length. She texturized my whole head. She did not cut my hair at all. My bangs were still down below my cheeks. When she was done I asked if she was going to finish the wolf cut and my bangs were still at the bottom of my cheeks. Again, she argued and said it wouldn't look right and it wasn't possible to cut my hair like that. I'm like thinking to myself, wth is she talking about. My hair goes to the bottom of my bra strap in back and has LONG layers all the way around. Melissa got upset with me. She made ME feel bad for asking her for what I THE CUSTOMER had requested. I went to Erik of Norway in Mequon and they gave me a wolf cut and I have the curtain bangs that blend in perfectly. They couldn't believe she said it was impossible. I guess they have heard of her before and have had several clients tell them the same type of story about her. I guess if she wasn't in the mood to work that day, she should have called in. I recently had a perm done by Cora and it was pretty bad from start to finish. I left there dripping wet from my head to literally my toes because she missed my head in the bowl when she was rinsing it. I followed all post perm rules like not washing your hair for at least 72 hours after, brushing your hair with a wide tooth comb and did everything she told me to do but after my first wash, which was actually more than 72 hours my hair was stick straight again. I called to make them aware of the situation And after going back-and-forth numerous times basically they said they'll just give me another perm for free at a later date when I decide I want it again, but I'm not a fan of over processing my hair and all I asked for was my money back onto a gift card to use for another service and they absolutely refused. Then I asked to speak to the owner directly and she won't even speak to me. She keeps giving me off to the manager, Michelle. The manager Michelle has been very kind and patient, but I find it very irritating that the owner won't speak to me directly and won't give my money back to me onto a gift card. I'm not asking for cash back. I'm just asking for it to go back onto a gift card to use still within their spa. They also stated that Cora used the wrong product in my hair and that they went on a two week period of a faulty product as well so they have now admitted that they used the wrong product and did it wrong and yet they won't refund me my money. They just said they put it in my file (which how do I prove that they actually did that) that they owe me another perm, which I think is absolutely ridiculous. I love healing elements in the past, and I think that their body work is wonderful, but the hair department needs work, and I think the owner should be ashamed that she won't even speak to a client that is upset with her service. I have been more than calm, and patient trying to resolve this but I am extremely unhappy with Nicolet the owner and the lack of resolving a major issue. read more

It would appear someone on Yelp made a complaint about the photo I posted with my review of Healing Elements. The image was removed by Yelp because it was deemed to not be an image of the business. Since Healing Elements took the time to respond to my review and refer to the photo I thought it appropriate to more thoroughly explain my wifes encounter. My wife had a $180 gift certificate for Healing Elements. She first used part of the card after about 5 months. She did not get back to use the still over $100 balance until 8 months later or about 13 months from original purchase. When she tried to use the gift card she was told the gift card was expired, worthless, money down the drain because it was not used in 12 months My wife pointed out the error of Healing Elements ways and that Federal law states after one year of inactivity on a gift card the business can deduct a 10% penalty. You can't cancel the gift card all together which is what Healing Elements did. My wife did not accept that she was out over $100 and continued to try to educate the business on the error of their ways. In the course of the discussion the owner/attendant actually called my wife a jerk for standing up for herself as a consumer. Healing Elements finally decided to issue my wife a business credit for what would have been the balance of the gift card amount. My wife then brought our daughter in for an appointment to pamper her before homecoming. When it was time to pay, Healing Elements refused to accept the credit saying the money was only available on my wifes account for services provided directly to my wife and not service for our teenage daughter. I really can't speak for the quality of service provided at Healing Elements. My review is merely a recital of our experience. Note the 2014 Yelp review indicating a customer had a similar experience with a gift certificate and we had the same sour experience in 2016. read more

08/25/2023 This will be the second time I had my hair done at Healing Elements in West Bend. The girl who did my hair name is Abigail. The first time she did my hair. She didn't put a towel on my neck. So when I was done I had a Stain on my Carhartt sweatshirt on the hood. I decided to give her another chance. The second time on the 25th of August. Bad . I had a full color & Highlights. Abigail thought it was ok to do the highlights first. Then the overall color on the rest of my hair. Since I Never had it done this way. I asked her why are you doing the highlights first. She said, "It will Save Her Time". She never put a towel on my neck again. When she foiled the top of my head, she never clipped the foils back or put Any cotton to catch the drips. So foil kept flopping in my face. I had drips going down my neck. For the 20 Minutes I had to wait. After I was done. When she was taking out the foils. She was moving my hair around. I asked her, is there a problem. She said No. Then I felt her putting something in my hair. I asked what she was doing? She said she was putting in some toner. Umm I said. After she dried my hair. I could hardly see the highlights. I did tell her this. When I was at the cashier. She said that I was charged double for overall Color. I paid and left. When I was driving in my car I Noticed the top and the sides of hair were FRIED! I can see that others are annoyed with their gift card policy, which I also found off putting. I had a gift card to use and it had been deducted off of already since it was 1 year since the purchase which was annoying, but luckily it was only a $10 or $20 off penalty for me. However my biggest issue was I booked a service with them a few weeks prior and got a call maybe 2 days before that they made an error in scheduling and could no longer keep my appointment, so I could do a shorter service or reschedule. I was annoyed since I now live in Madison and had scheduled a day to come to visit friends and do the massage and wanted to use up my gift card so I didn't want a shorter service in which they would keep eating my unused gift card money up that would have remained or to reschedule my whole plan with friends since I was coming to town! I asked to have the gift card amount just refunded to me as I now live further away and I really would rather not reschedule with them because this was a HUGE inconvenience for me and my plans and I had made the appointment weeks ago (which of course was a NO as well) I did end up rescheduling for another week or two out but I was really annoyed that the person on the phone was NOT even nice or apologetic about THEIR TEAMS mistake. There was no offer of a discount, an extra service ( like adding hot stones for free etc. ) for this huge short notice inconvenience. If I didn't have the gift card I needed to use up before the balance went to $0 I would have said no thanks and never gone back. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED AND OUTRAGED!!! My services with Jenny, Amanda, and Sydney were fine. I received a gift card shortly prior to Covid. I had a massage scheduled for the end of March 2020, which was canceled due to the pandemic. For personal reasons I was not able to make it in for a service until yesterday. I was really looking forward to this experience after the holidays. After enjoying the facilities and finally achieving a moment of respite, it was IMMEDIATELY stripped away when I went to check out and was told my gift card had NO value. The only reason I booked the services I did was based on the fact that I had a $90 gift. The manager was not helpful and just kept saying "There's nothing we can do." As a fellow service provider in the industry for 20 years, this is completely asinine. There is always something you can do to ensure a guest leaves happy and satisfied with their experience. I tried to maintain my composure to respect the fact that there were other guests in the space. However, given their response to this matter, I became infuriated. This establishment's approach to customer service is beyond poor. They are downright stealing money from guests without even considering any special circumstances that may have led to them delaying scheduling a service. Throughout my experience I was planning on making future reservations as a return guest. However after this debacle, I will NOT be returning and will make sure to spread the word to encourage people to look elsewhere for their spa needs. read more

I see other people have had this issue as well with gift cards. I will admit that I didn't see the disclaimer on the gift card holder that stated that gift cards are reduced by 10% every month after the expiration date. However, it does not state that on the gift card itself. I was disappointed after I found out my gift cards were worthless. I had been collecting them and saving them for a spa day that was ultimately delayed by the pandemic. I also knew of the 5 years federal law that does not allow gift cards to expire but did not account that they would be greedy enough to devalue gift cards every month. I nicely asked if anything could be done and was told there was nothing they could do. How is there nothing you can do? Federal law states that gift cards cannot expire for 5 years. I know they have the right to have an inactive fee but I think that is just poor business. You are taking advantage of your customers. As a retail business owner, I know it does not cost money to have inactive gift cards. Why would you want to alienate a customer by doing this? I think its greedy and I don't respect the practice. I will take my one gift card that is active and buy products and then will not return. I know healing elements has the right to de- value gift cards, I just don't know why. It's shady and frankly unethical. Just because you can, does not mean you should. read more

Went to HE West Bend this past summer for a massage and salt water float. It started out with a bland "meh" 90 minute massage, and it contained none of the manipulations that most professionals utilize during a deep, relaxing massage. Then back to the waiting area for a very long wait until my float tub was ready. I have peripheral neuropathy and I use a walker for mobility. They had someone walk too fast ahead of me through a maze of hallways with many closed doors, then backtracking until she figured out where she was going. After she left the tub room, I got into the saltwater bath and upon settling in, my skin started to burn all over. My private area (front and back) felt on fire. I immediately called for urgent help getting out of the tub, as I could not escape unassisted. It took fifteen minutes for her to arrive. She explained that she was the only one working up front and could not get to me sooner because she had phones to answer! By the time I finished showering and dressing, I was in tears as I left the locker room. I spoke with the manager at the front desk and expressed how disappointed I was with the whole experience. The ONLY thing she offered was a standard apology and to remove the charge for the saltwater float. Well, I would EXPECT that, given that most of my time was spent clinging to the outer edge of the tub as I'm silently screaming in pain. Then, the manager had the nerve to sweetly ask me to give them another chance and offered to book my next appointment! The mention of that place gives me nightmares. I will NEVER return there! read more

So much potential! The quality of service was great...but SERIOUSLY, you can not charge for water at a spa! That was so weird! No one got my coffee and obviously didn't offer water. I received a gift certificate a couple of months prior to COVID for $50. I am an essential worker and have not taken time off for over a year with working extra hours taking care of COVID patients. This was some much needed time off and self care. I told them upon scheduling that I had a gift certificate, there was no mention that they would not honor it. 1. Hardly any of the employees wore a mask. 2. Due to the certificate being over a year old they would only honor $5 and that was with begging. The manager Brianna refused to "budge" on this even though for several months they were closed during that time. When told that I would not be back the response was "okay". When I said I would be giving them a poor review the response was "okay". They didn't care. 3. The person doing my pedicure was 15 minutes late, not due to taking care of a client, but due to talking to a coworker for 15 minutes- I could hear and see the conversation from the waiting area. Regarding the pedicure... I have had much better, no massage that was part of the pedicure... I can rub oil on my feet. read more

My daughter went there to get her haircut because it was the only place she could get an appointment. Now I know why. We usually go to Carpet Diem or Diffusion hair salon. I have talked to all my friends that live in West Bend and go to various hair salons. Every other salon that I heard about requires all employees to wear masks. I was shocked to find out that Healing Element does not require their hair stylist and all employees to wear masks. My daughter was the only one wearing a mask. She was showing respect and consideration to all the people that were around her. However the hair stylist didn't have the consideration to protect my daughter from the possibility of giving her Covid 19. I am in shock and extremely upset. I am giving them a one star review because at least Strina tried. My two daughter in laws and I went in for pedicures with gel polish. I seriously would have thought they had never done gel polish before or at least one young lady and her manager had but clearly that isn't the case.I thought maybe she was new but my girls informed later that she definitely was not new. She couldn't get my polish off, she barely tried. It was like she was afraid of hurting me, super gentle when she was sanding the top before wrapping the toes, it clearly wasn't enough, then she only wrapped them for a couple minutes. The other two girls were so far ahead of her I think she got frazzled and didn't want to tale the tome so got her manager, who then proceeded to tell me had she known it was gel from a different salon she would have made me had it removed before I got there. So please beware anyone getting their pedicure there! Also I should warn you they use the exact line as my salon in Oshkosh! The tech eventually covered my old polish with the new, clearly not following guidelines. There was no exfoliating done and this pedicure was over $70 needless to say I wont be returning and I feel bad that i recently recommended this place to a friend in the area. read more

Had an appt for a spa pedicure;arrived on time but waited 20min before taken back. Asked at front desk for literature with services and pricing and was handed a leaflet. After mediocre pedicare, went to pay for service and was told it was $55. The leaflet I was handed said $50. I asked to speak with manager. Manager(Brienna) said that their prices had changed and that the service was $55. Told her it was unethical for them to have it listed for one price and then change it after the fact. She said it was an "old" leaflet and that the price was still going to be $55. She was rude and obviously inexperienced in how to handle customer service matters. This place is amazing! The new location opened in April and it is so modern, spacious, and zen. There is coffee, tea, water, hot chocolate, and snacks in the main lobby and in the massage lounge. There is a clean and updated locker room with a sauna, restrooms, and changing areas. The massage lounge has ambient lighting with LED stars on the ceiling! Everything about this place was relaxing and the staff is so helpful! I had a 30 minute massage, pedicure, hair coloring, and haircut. I will be going back again! read more

They provide great service to clients, but treat their staff very poorly. They claim they value their employees however it is very poorly demonstrated. Then when one speaks up and asks for a schedule change to better themselves it becomes a huge problem to the point where the employee had to resign. Only to see them post a job opening for exactly what she was asking for!!! Then it doesn't stop there, the owner of this establishment then goes on a tirade of contacting her new place of employment just to defame her. If you ask me that is horrible management and all around petty from what is supposed to be a grown adult. If it didn't work out and the employee left, then wish her success wherever she goes, but you don't play with someones income the same way you don't like your income played with. Because of this, I thought about using their services for my daughters upcoming Sweet 16/15 but I can not support a business that does not support their employees. read more

Wont go back. We went today for a bachorette party... First they require a credit card to even make a reservation. They wouldn't book a block of time for all the people coming so we could get our services together. So everyone was all split up... not that much fun. The spa is very small, they had ALOT of staff and it didn't seem like they were doing up besides walking around. The only service i received was the spa pedicure which was $50, and not worth that - it was a very simple pedicure nothing special. -They dont have a huge section of colors but decent. - They DO NOT do any nail art - French manicure or pedicure polish don't ask unless you already booked that in advanced because they will not do it - They only take cash tips so you cant do extra on your card I live in Milwaukee, was only up in west bend because this is where the bride and maid of honor picked out. I wont be back, i can find the exact same thing in Milwaukee for MUCH cheap. The majority of the staff are in training, or have 1 year or less of experience in the spa industry. Sad we all spent so much money and no one was overly impressed with the experience. read more

I am soooo disappointed with the owner Nicole and the manager Sandy at Healing elements! My sister gave me a $100 dollar gift certificate for babysitting, I ended up picking out $245 dollars worth of merchandise since they were all booked up and I would be returning to another state soon. The lady that helped me pick out makeup was super helpful and a younger woman was super helpful picking out shampoo and conditioner! The problems arose when my $100 dollar gift card read $35 dollars. They said that another client had used it on June 1st and that the girl entering the gift card numbers might have entered one too many numbers and so it came out of my gift card. They said they would have to contact the other client to see how much was left on her gift card. Why wasn't I just issue a new gift card! The manager said she didn't want $100 coming out of the owners pocket! My sister buys and is in charge of handling the purchase of stacks of gift cards for church fundraising, she spoke to the manager and told her that she personally bought it from the stack, no one else has the stack. I didn't know my sister had called Elements and that the gift card was from this stack and that she was solely in charge. I asked to speak to the owner, I didn't know she was at the premises. She came out of the backroom highly agitated saying she was sooo done with this. I wanted to explain that she was going to lose a sail of $140 above the gift card and that she was doing bad business since my sister loves Healing Elements and goes to it all the time. I thought my sister had purchased the gift card from their location and asked if she was saying my sister used it and gave it to me. She said that since it was from a big stack of gift cards someone could have used it and put it in the stack. I left but later spoke to my sister and found out that they were always in her position, so they were implying that we were trying to steal? There mistake! For $65 dollars they are losing a long term client that has spoken highly of their establishment, that had two favorite hairdressers! For what I was going to purchase, the $65 dollars would have been the wholesale! I have worked in retail in small businesses where you cherish your long time customers and possibly learn that your gift card system has major flaws! read more

I went to Healing Elements because I received a gift card from a friend. When I went to redeem it, I was told that I "waited too long to redeem it, so 90% of the paid value had expired." There was no expiration date printed on the card so this seemed like a scam. I understand not honoring a lost gift card, but setting arbitrary time limits for when you have to use it is ridiculous. The girl behind the counter just said it was store policy and gave me credit for $3.50...what a joke. Regarding the facility itself, no changing rooms, just bathroom stalls which is kinda gross. Also, the "spa lounge" is super tiny with way too many chairs. If you happen to be there when it's busy, you end up completely crowded in before and after treatments. Not exactly zen... I will never go back and will never buy a friend a gift card here again! read more

I love Healing Elements, everything from nails to their massage services. I always have friendly service and everyone is always super knowledgeable. Their new campus is absolutely stunning - my favorite part has to be the room you sit in before your massage service.
