Lived there for almost 4 years. The grounds are clean (by massive complex standards) and Carlos, Jose and the staff have all been helpful. Amenities are something you should not take for granted - the pool is pretty clean most of the time, I enjoyed shooting billiards and shuffleboard when I had guests over, and the new vending machine was a lifesaver addition for those lazy nights. Gym too was plentiful and never crowded. At most I've ever seen was 6 people at 1 time. Other nice details: - Being off Alton means it's very quiet, even if you're facing Alton which is an off-street to Jamboree - H Mart is a 6 min walk away, so are coffee spots, bakeries, restaurants etc. And parking in Diamond Jamboree is a nightmare, which you don't have to do - (Thankfully) never had an issue with the community parking. Take a minute to meet your car neighbor. Don't leave anything behind. - Rooftop guest parking is never full. Great for guests coming over. I would recommend living here, if you can afford it. Thanks team! read more

We have lived here for the past 5 year and Carlos is hands down the best manager this property has ever had. Everything is very clean at all times , the maintenance staff is prompt and the amenities are top notch . Carlos Silva tries to bring everyone together for holidays too with fun parties and donuts and coffee mornings , which are so appreciated ! read more

Jose from the maitnece team is great . He takes his time . And gives you a lot of information !

Moving in was seamless. Rico Cook was of great assistance in giving me the tour and answering my questions about the lease and guiding me through that process. Amanda Arroyo was extremely helpful and professional on the actual day of my move in, explaining everything clearly about the move in process and answering my questions about loading zones, mail, parking, and other small confusing details. Highly recommend the The Murphy as the facilities and units are great and the staff is friendly and helpful read more

Pros: Customer service rep Martina is responsive and friendly. Rico is also friendly. Short-term lease options available (albeit expensive ones) 24-hour Fitness and Business Center access Small dog park area Cons: Expensive mandatory trash pickup service, even though they don't always come by during the service period in the contract. Major repair issues take too long to fix (ie. fire alarm going off unexpectedly in the middle of the night, apartment-wide multi-day cold water issues). Outrageous move-out charges to repair/repaint damages never caused by tenant. read more

BEE AWARE of $1000 rent increase after your first lease! THE MURPHY VIBE: This place is very beautiful. The apartment is very spacious and comfortable. The amenities and the pool area are exceptional! Here is how I feel about this place: If you're looking for the best location in Irvine, this is your place If you're looking for A nice quiet place, this is your place! Except for the Airbnb people that are very inconsiderate to the tenants! And have drug addictions. The hallways are always filled with marijuana smell! If you don't like people parking in your parking spot. This is not your place! If you are expecting to charge your Tesla here, this is not your place If you are expecting leasing office to do something about your problem, this is not your place If you are expecting safety because you are close to the police station. This is not your place! An armed robber threatened my girlfriend in the parking garage. He was caught after. If you don't like maintenance people creeping at your door, this is not your place! I have proof! If you are expecting to meet nice people, tweakers, and homeless people, this is your place! If you are expecting to talk to the same leasing office people, this is not your place. There's always new people at the leasing office that don't know what they're doing. Don't get me wrong. I love The Murphy vibe. The place is beautiful and I have met some great neighbors Who already moved out due to the rent increase! Everybody's moving out due to the rent increase! I don't even know what management is thinking! It is insulting to me and to all the tenants to raise rent by $1000 a month from management. I feel like I was tricked into the lease and now I have to move all over again and struggle because of that. It is humiliating to all of us! I think I already set enough. There is a lot more but I'm just going to show you the proof and the pictures I add to this post so you can make a conscious decision and not be in my situation because it is horrible I promise! read more

Absolutely love living here. I've been renting for over 15+ years and this complex by far is the best. Kevin has been amazing to work with since day one. He's super helpful and always so positive. Anytime we have a question he's quick to respond. This complex is perfect if your looking for a smaller community vibe. After living in Irvine company complex's where you had no visitor parking or lived with people who claim cabanas or lounge chairs at 8am due to complex being too big for the amenities, The Murphy is exactly we we wanted, so peaceful. There's tons of visitor parking, pool never gets full and the marketing event they run are legit Shout out to the maintenance guys onsite, they are great read more

Funny. We did call management and even visited the office only to be notified no one is available because of holiday parties or vacations. Have fun paying your neighbors' rent! If you can pay your rent, watch out, they will overcharge you at any opportunity. They do not penalize those who can't don't. read more

We stopped by the Murphy first while looking for apartments to rent in OC. Kevin was extremely helpful and gave us great info about what it was like living at the Murphy. Even after we left and visited several other apartments over the course of a month, the Murphy stood out to us as the best apartment complex for our needs. The move in process was very smooth and Kevin was more than willing to help us navigate through any difficulties we encountered. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a luxury apartment in the Irvine area. read more

The Negatives: My car, parked inside what is supposed to be a security garage, was the victim of car parts theft. There is so much smoking going on here: by the pool, near the amenity rooms, in the garage, and inside the apartments. There are many AirBnB rentals here, supposedly in violation of the lease and in violation of Irvine law banning short-term rental platforms such as AirBNB and Vrbo. The AirBnB rentals are totally making this place so much more unpleasant. (I have seen people even smoking in the exercise room! And a lot of the smokers are the AirBnB renters.) And finally, there is not enough soundproofing between the apartment floors/ceilings. You can hear a lot of sounds above and/or below you. The Positives: The complex looks nice from the outside, the kitchens are nice, the exercise rooms are fabulous, and the location is good. If the owners/manager could remove and then keep the AirBnB rentals out, finally and truly enforce the nonsmoking policy, and find a way to better protect the cars in the garage, Murphy could be one of the greatest apartment complex in our area. (I did not include the soundproofing issue because there's nothing that can be done about this now, and virtually every apartment complex suffers this issue.) The owners/manager have known about the AirBnB renters for a very long time now. They refuse to do what is necessary to stop it, in spite of the fact AirBnB is a violation of Irvine law. read more

Things have changed due to COVID, this place was amazing, and had amazing staff. But, now the whole office team was replaced, and they are nowhere near as amazing, as the previous team. New management, definitely made an impact and now, The Murphy doesn't seem as nice as it once was. For "Luxury" apartments the soundproofing in floors and ceilings are horrible. The whole environment had changed alot. I really wish they could bring back the old staff. They were amazing people and were extremely helpful. For those looking for a place to stay, I definitely would check elsewhere before looking for an apartment here at The Murphy. read more

We just renewed the lease. Murphy is an extremely beautiful and quiet place to live and I feel like I am at a resort. Amenities are great and well-maintained. Everyone at the leasing office is helpful and amazing. Although we had some negative thoughts before, Carlos is a very professional and thoughtful manager who helped us to deal with the problems. Jose is also nice and professional and solved the problems in a very timely manner. I highly recommend staying here! read more

I have been a resident at The Murphy Irvine since July 2023 (Moved from Seattle area to Irvine). The Murphy Irvine is a first class operation, not just because of their great location, amenities such as great fitness center, pool and garden areas, what sets them apart is their caring and knowledge staff from management, maintenance and cleaning crew. They all are very attentive, welcoming and care for residents and community. I look forward to enjoying this community for years! read more

This is our 3rd year living at the Murphy and they changed managers and staff 4 times. We had our ups and downs at this complex. Have seen shady people, experienced storage break-in, random people trying to open our apartment door. However, these were all before Carlos Silva. We noticed a lot of good changes shortly after Carlos took over the Manager position. To name a few, storage break-ins stopped, I don't see a lot of shady people anymore, the community has been really quiet. There are activities for tenants such as group exercise, pop corn day, ice cream day, food truck, etc. Nice work to Carlos and his team! Thank you for making The Murphy a safe and quiet community. read more

We loved living here! Manar was the first person we met and she was the best! She was so responsive and attentive with all of our questions, she definitely made a lasting impression. I don't even know where to begin. We signed a lease at The Murphy because of the location and amenities. The building itself is great, but everything else has been extremely upsetting. The majority of the building seems to be short-term rentals. There are constantly random people roaming the premise with suitcases looking for their rental. It constantly smells like weed everywhere from our unit, to the hallways and garage. The noise level is extremely high, so don't expect to get a good nights sleep if you are a light sleeper. No one obeys the curfew time. Additionally, we have had random strangers attempt to barge into our apartment on multiple occasions, so make sure you keep your doors locked. One man claimed that "he thought it was his unit" several times, while another girl was obviously drunk and banging at our door. Since the first week we moved in, we've had an issue with other cars parking in our assigned parking spot. We would notify management and they did absolutely nothing to help resolve the issue. We have towed about 15-20 cars from our spot in the past year. Also, don't expect your car to be safe just because it's in a "gated" parking garage. Several cars wait outside of the gate for someone to open it. We have had our cars scratched and splattered with yogurt. The garage is riddled with trash. If you walk out to the common areas, I guarantee that you will see dog poop. Although the gardeners do a phenomenal job to keep the place looking nice, this place is full of very inconsiderate dog owners. If you work for home, this may not be the place for you either. Today the fire alarm went off every 5 minutes for an entire hour and the management didn't send out a notice until the very end. In general, the only notifications we get from the management office is to pay rent on time. If you submit a message to them about something else, they won't respond. Lastly, like several other reviews you should expect your rent to significantly increase. Ours also went up $1,000 per month. We cannot justify the cost to renew our lease. read more

Just signed a lease at The Murphy! Although we don't move until mid June, we are super excited for a new place with beautiful amenities! The Murphy is a great place to live! We are very lucky to have worked with Luis on various occasion. This place is the MECCA of AirBNB, which is illegal in Irvine, but you can clearly tell it's being ignored. The messages from Karen/management on these reviews are all AUTOMATED / CANNED responses. They're not even reading them! I see cars here with out-of-state license plates nearly 2-3 times a week in the same spots. People rolling in with suitcases almost every single day asking for directions... you can clearly tell they don't belong here. At least when I lived in ghetto Tustin/Santa Ana area paying $1700, the people rarely moved out, but this place is like a revolving door. If I go to Airbnb.com, I see a bunch of our units for rent. I even found an airbnb magazine in the mailroom of a former tenant, who was supposedly evicted for it --- there was a huge stack of mail for him. I looked him up on FB and found it's what he did for a living, renting out rooms!! This place also uses DrakeStone, which is supposedly long-term, but wondering if, due to covid, they shortened it. Also, check the sheriff's website, you can see a couple of people were evicted, but it's definitely not being enforced very much. I didn't care the previous mgmt or staff, but it appears the new mgmt will be better (from what I've seen/heard). The apt itself is super nice, the maintenance people (Jose in particular) are great and really try to take care / listen to you. Bikes are locked up in a cage that you need a fob to open, but somehow bikes have been stolen. Maybe they were left out? Loud souped-up cars in the parking structure is sometimes annoying, but not that big of a deal. Few break-ins on storage units and vehicles, but I'm not sure how common that is in Irvine. For me, the biggest issue is short-term Airbnb, who haven't passed any kind of screening, who then invite shady looking people over, etc. I knew the place was going downhill when I saw a guy twirling a huge arrow around outside advertising in the hot sun like he worked at Subway Sandwiches. They should put cameras around the bike area and on all floors, or maybe hire some security. They need to change the locks on the storage doors. read more

The Murphy Irvine - This is less than 1 month. - Apartments Near Me - Irvine, California

The Murphy is NOT ADA compliant. The Murphy also has a policy of placing garbage bags in the hallway for pickup. The bags are not picked up nightly and attract rats and rodents. The leasing office employs some of the laziest and most unconscious people I've ever encountered. Unit 16187, in particular, is poorly run and poorly managed. Mark Hoffman read more

After living at the Murphy apartments for a year during this pandemic, my fiancé and I must share our sour experiences to avoid others from making our mistake. At first this place offered the newness and large living spaces we needed combined with peace and quiet until the harsh realities of management's inability to properly manage this complex legitimately for the better of tenants. In the course of a year, we realized EV charging stations that were promised were never installed, thus we had no charge our Tesla elsewhere, which is extremely inconvenient. Moreover, management illegally Airbnbs over 10 apartment units throughout the complex, so we constantly dealt with noise issues from short term leasers upstairs and dealing with random people constantly roaming our halls. On top of that I was followed to my car by an armed car burglar on my way to work in the morning in the parking structure. On that note, we also dealt with homeless people living in our parking structure in tents for months. Peace was never obtained with all these safety issues in the past 14 months. We continued to remain optimistic, but things got progressively worse as we noticed the lack of customer service with leasing staff and their high turn over rates. Austin and Melody were kind leasing staff members who really did care for tenants, but quit because this place is terrible to live and work apparently. As if all the above mentioned was not enough to sour our living experience further, we just got our "renewal offer" that increased by $1,000 a month to reside in the same unit. We are already paying $2,950 a month and they want $3,900 a month to renew?! THAT IS WILD and an unmerited rent increase for tenants who have always paid rent on time and have been put through so much in the last year. We're still in a pandemic and we're being pushed out!!! Do NOT move here, they'll lure you in and spring the same rent hikes on you to keep up with their Airbnb scam pricing. It's happening to all existing tenants, endless moving trucks in the last weeks / month. MOVE ANYWHERE ELSE! read more

Not family friendly at all, if you have a family do not move here. Friend just moved here, single mom. Got harassed by three men that live below her for making noise while she moved it. Amazing how the only thing they said was to file a police report. Sign your lease and everything else is on you. Your safety and that of your child. I guess you got wait for something to actually happen to you, for them to take action ( the cops). The employees at Murphy don't want to help and that's a fact. Amazing how unprofessional and the unwillingness to help a single mother that's is being bullied by another neighbor. Don't even rent from this place, it's not family friendly.
