Not the Hotel's fault, but another male guest followed me from the parking lot as i was unloading my car and then was loitering around the small lobby while i was checking in. Then was walking to close behind me as i was headed to my room. Had the family across from my room not come out of their room as i was deciding on what to do. I probably would have walked back out to the desk and checked back out. I locked myself in my room with a llight on and left first thing in the morning.

The hotel was less than average but i was ok with that since I was visiting my grandson at Bates. On Saturday night I had spilled some wine on the floor of my room and grabbed a towel to pick up the spill. When I looked at the towel after cleaning up my mess, it was black. Meaning the floor was filthy. I went to the front desk early Sunday morning, October 5th and asked for the manager. A woman at the desk told me that the manager was not in even though i saw him while having coffee in the lobby. I did not want to make a scene so I asked if I could talk privately to the woman behind the counter about an issue I had. She said, yes, I am the person who resolves issues at this hotel. Great, we went into the hallway, her suggestion and I began telling her about the situation and that I had used a towel to clean up my mess and when I looked at the towel it was black. That the floors were dirty. Her first comment was I should not have used the towel to wipe the floor. I said I did not think I had an option, was I to use my clothes? She said I should have called the front desk to ask them to clean up the mess. It was around 10pm and I was in my pajamas. I said that sounded ridiculous to me and that I was "pissed" that I spent $480 or so to stay two nights and I was staying in a room that was dirty. She said, "you are in my space." I said, I am sorry and I understood people needing space. She said, I am sorry I have an issue regarding my personal space. I told her I understood and that I had worked in Human Resources for 25 years and understood. She then asked me why I did not report the dirty floor when I first arrived at the hotel, I said because I did not spill anything on the floor my first night. She then said we will fix the problem and walked back to the lobby and behind the desk. I said how can you fix the problem if you don't know my name or my room number? She said I was going to ask you that but you got in my face. Now we are in a public area and I gave her my name and room number. I left the premiss immediately that Sunday morning, 8am. It is now Monday morning and I have not heard back from the hotel. I waited to see how they would resolve the issue but, I guess that was not their intent or they did not want me to know how it was resloved. I am very well traveled and I have NEVER had an experience like this, EVER. I would never stay at this hotel again and I suggest you never do either. I see some reviewers don't realize that Motel 6 is strictly a budget motel. We are staying here for…read moretwo reasons: its free dog policy, and the central location between Portland and Bangor, the two places we are visiting here this week. But there is a balloon festival this weekend, so we are just staying two nights for now. It has an odd but not unpleasant setup. We are on the first floor. We have a sliding glass outer door very convenient to our vehicle parked just outside. Our normal inner hallway door is across from the registration office and right next to the laundry room where the ice machine and handy microwave are also located. The furnishings are stripped down, kind of funny so I took pictures. The "closet" is a high up shelf with a few hangers in it, the tv stand is a single shelf under a wall bracket. A bookshelf is the bureau. A tiny and low center shelf that is attached to the beds, holds the phone, no clock. I am not complaining about all that - it is Motel 6 after all. The price seems high for a budget place, but we are up north. This same room would be around $45 down south. It is not without issues, however. The toilet doesn't flush well at all and the secondary door frame lock on the inner door is broken. And of course, the walls are as thin as you would expect them to be. Oh, and on a side note, if you look at Google Maps and see a hiking trail around the corner at the Ramada Trailhead, don't believe it. It is mostly a snowmobile trail. It is physically possible to hike it, but the weeds are allowed to grow tall and one look at it suggested to us that it must be Tick Central. On the plus side, the A/C is quiet and the bathroom roomy with a shower that worked, so that is good. We always carry a bathroom bag, and that is helpful, for they offer tiny bars of soap but no shampoo.

I'm very happy with my room. It's clean, everything works (even the toilet), it's well maintained,…read moreand the bathroom is nicely remodeled so it looks great and is very clean. My gripe is that it's hard to find. There's a sign on I-95 that only lists the Ramada for exit 80 when in fact there are several hotels here. This may not be Motel 6's fault, but it made my life harder since if you drive past that highway exit you're going 7 more miles before you can turn around, total 14 miles wasted. And there is no tall Motel 6 sign visible from the highway. Even after you exit you can't see the hotel. The sign is so short you have to be right in front of the hotel before you can see it.

It had two sitting areas, both with stunning views of the lake, a gas fireplace and a Jacuzzi tub. It was a very peaceful and romantic setting. After sitting in the sauna for 15 to 20 minutes, we stepped outside into 17° winter weather and it was amazing! The staff and the owners, Nicole and Geoff, were all very friendly and accommodating. Each morning we had a delicious breakfast in the dining room. It was a very relaxing getaway, and we highly recommend the Wolf Cove Inn.

Nicole and Geoff have a beautiful inn and were so accommodating to our small wedding. The food is something I really want to highlight, the complimentary breakfasts were so tasty, and everyone loved them. We did a lobster bake for our rehearsal dinner and for the night of the wedding the Microwedding package we had purchased included a coursed dinner. Both meals absolutely blew us and our guests away. Our group's favorites were the seasonal creamed spinach, the hot honey burrata salad, and the filet mignon. We tend to be a little particular about food and the meals could not have been better. If you are debating having any kind of wedding at wolf cove or even just a romantic weekend away I would not hesitate to book here! Thank you to the Wolf Cove Inn team for making our wedding weekend so seamless and beautiful!
