Beautiful inn with the most wonderful owners! This is such a magical space, and I'm at a loss for words to describe it but will try to do the best I can. Upon entering you're welcomed by a serene setting, a joyous pup, and the warmest of hosts, Mary and Dave, along with some afternoon wine and tea, treats, sherry, and a relaxing nook with a delightful set of books. It was such a treat to relax in the afternoon under the lazy sunlight with a cup of tea. I particularly enjoyed the book of poems written by the prior resident of this place, and the farm to table cookbook. Our room was beautifully rustic yet modern with conveniences. The bed was comfortable, the shower with good temperature and pressure, the AC was much appreciated on this hot day, good speed on wifi (not that you should work on vacay, but if you were ever so inclined to as I'm always scoping out spaces to do so... the dining room is a great place to sit and work with a nice cup of Joe) and the space was comfortable and very clean. The stylish fridge full of drinks in each room was such a nice touch. And love the scent of the goat milk soap the provide. We took a stroll outside and the setting around the house was simply beautiful and serene. Upon retiring in the evening, there were delicious cookies set out along with tea and coffee. While I'm celiac, the hubs shared that the cookies were very tasty! I had called earlier to ask about breakfast options for gluten-free celiacs, and was informed by Mary that there was a section on the reservation for dietary requests. This turned out to be an amazingly delicious breakfast frittata with a giant bowl of fresh fruits and some lovely tea when we got up in the morning, along with such a fun (and very educational, I now regard chickens as little dinos) tour of the chicken and Turkey coup. It was such a wonderful stay, and we absolutely look forward to coming back again in the fall/winter for another weekend getaway!

I will happily break down the experience my husband & I had at the Brewster House B&B for Sat…read more 03/11 - Sun. 03/12/23. WEBSITE & BOOKING A ROOM: - Mapped out website to understand more about the inn & policies. - Easy to navigate, view room availability & select desired room. - Wonderful photos of each room with sq. ftg. noted. - Lots of information of what's around / things to do in the area. INNKEEPERS: - The level of communication is great. I had sent an email with additional questions & was answered timely. They also use a method of texting as well as leave their phone #'s. - We paid for a 12pm check-in & Dave greeted us. He gave a tour & a mini history lesson about the building, which was so interesting! - Kelleigh waited on us for breakfast & was delightful. She'd engage in quick conversation & swiftly served us each course. THE ROOM (#4 - PERMQUID POINT LIGHTHOUSE): - Super clean, cozy & romantic. - The queen bed was comfortable with many layers of sheets, a down comforter & quilt-like blanket on top. - The (2) chairs by the window served as a nice area for me & my husband to enjoy a beer from the "Big Brewstah" keg & chat. - There are robes with slippers which make the stay all the more comfortable. - The thermostat is programmed, but it's allowed to change the temperature. - There isn't a mini fridge in the room (not sure if there are in the other rooms). 3-COURSE BREAKFAST: - Served ONLY between 8am to 9am (as long as you arrive in that hour). They do ask if there are any dietary restrictions prior. - As previously mentioned, Kelleigh was our server & hostess. - The hot coffee is French pressed & packed with flavor. - Dave has some serious cooking skills & we appreciated the use of locally sourced, fresh ingredients. - It was a very filling & delicious menu that Dave creates uniquely for each morning. ADDITIONAL NOTES & TIPS: - The parking is a bit tight; there are (3) spots at the front of the inn or the overflow is at the end of the driveway. - Each room has a key & a deadbolt (which can only be locked from the inside). - Downstairs area, neighboring the dining room, there is a living room area with shelves of books & a few games. - The busy season for the Brewster House B&B is around the 4th of July.

Since there are only three guest rooms I imagine it's a serene place to stay any time of year. The owners were very friendly and served a delicious breakfast. We stayed in the Fireside room, which as its name suggests has a lovely (and warm) gas fireplace. On a cold April night it was so cozy in our room. The whole inn has unique antique touches but with all the amenities you would want. Rooms: Since we were the only guests I was able to check out the other rooms, all of which were lovely. The Fireside room has the fireplace (you'll likely only use it in the winter/fall because it does produce heat), pretty vintage wallpaper, and a comfortable bed with a firm mattress. You have to step down into the bathroom area and the sink is inside the bedroom, which I found to be funky/charming. If you want a tiny bit more privacy book the Androscoggin room. It also has the best view, a little seating area, and it's the only room with a bathtub (the other two have showers). I thought the Garden room was the prettiest room, but that is subjective of course. The photos here and on their website are accurate, the house is very clean and beautifully appointed. A few traveler tips: The rooms don't have TVs but there is one in the common area downstairs for guest use. This didn't bother us but for some it may be an issue (or a bonus). The stairs are steep and may be challenging for anyone with limited mobility (all guest rooms are upstairs). The only very minor complaint I have -and this does not effect my 5 star rating because we knew about it ahead of time- is that they only serve breakfast until 9am, checkout is at 10:30, and there is no flexibility on either (on Sundays anyway, in order for the owners to attend church). We overslept by 15 minutes and they graciously still served us, I wouldn't have been upset if they closed the kitchen as it was our mistake. They also said that checkout was at 10:30, but at 10:18 the owner came to our door to usher us out. BUT, like I said we knew about this ahead of time and still chose to book, and we're glad we did. It was a lovely stay.

The tub had jets which made for good recovery/relaxing after XC skiing. The bed was very comfortable; not too soft like a lot of BnB's nowadays, but not hard either. They only had a VHS player rather than a dvd player, but there was enough good channels available to keep us entertained. It was good having a kitchenette to make toast or hot chocolate, tea, instant coffee etc. Plenty of closet space but no dressers. But the closet had shelves. We lived out of our duffel bags anyway. Breakfast both days was really good. Doreen makes a superior fruit salad. Her frittata and french toast were yummy. She and Cole made nice breakfast companions (we were the only guests that weekend). The highlight of our stay was Clarence, their new cat, a Norwegian Forest cat. He was very friendly and entertaining. It broke our heart to say goodbye. We hope to be back again to ski more trails at nearby Pineland Farms.

We had a suite upstairs with a private sitting room, bathroom and kitchen. Throughout the day we could see the inn's ducks and chickens milling about from our suite. The suite is decorated in Americana and there were books and magazines for our perusal. Breakfast always started with a fresh fruit cup and sometimes with veggies right out of Rachel Lynn's garden! She is a marvelous cook and fed us French toast, a kale, broccoli and goat cheese scramble, blueberry pancakes and oven-baked eggs with tomatoes to be put on large English muffins. There was also ham and sausage, orange juice, coffee and tea. The property has two delightful cats, Jack and Jill, and if you want to pet them you can; however, Rachel Lynn is very sensitive to guests' wishes that the cats don't bother them. The George Perley House is a bit out of the way (well, we're from SF, so everything seems like a long drive to us), and we really liked it. One day we took a delightful and very easy hike up the road and into the forest nearby. I think we received Maine's hospitality at its finest- thank you Rachel Lynn and Michael (her husband, who was also very friendly!)
