Urgh.... what a disappointment. Room had a busted bathroom…read moredoor. Broken mirror. No cups for water nor coffee. "Free breakfast" was ridiculous (no coffee, no eggs, no bagels, ...) ... and the Hot Tub was closed for repairs or something. Upon checkout, the clerk barely spoke English and communications were difficult... Never again.... Right across the street from Ramada, the SureStay is a much, much better option for just about the same price.

The photos they have on their site are attractive and coming from the NYC metro area, "hotel and conference center" make it sound like a typical hotel. We walked in & the front desk person was immediately rude and unpleasant. I gave my name and he just snapped, "I don't have any 1st floor rooms". I hadn't asked for a first floor room so I wasn't sure why he was telling me this. He gave us a room & said "it's up the stairs". I said, "Oh, there's no elevator?" and he said, "no", which must be why he barked that there were no 1st floor rooms available. I asked him if my friend, checking in later, could be near us. He sighed & asked her name. He just said a terse "No", with no explanation. There was a sign on the front desk that the pool was closed for maintenance. So, if we had wanted to use the pool, it was unavailable. We went up to our room and as soon as we opened the door, we smelled old smoke and mildew. It was supposed to be a non-smoking room but clearly it had been smoked in at some point. I didn't expect any other room to be better, nor do I think there were any other rooms available. A guy had come into the lobby yelling about having paid for a room and there being no rooms available, so we turned the air conditioning on and hoped it would dissipate. The ac only read in celsius so we had to look up what number to leave it on. There was urine on the toilet seat. I didn't see this when I first went in the bathroom because the lid was up, but when the lid was put down, there was something on the lid as well. I don't know if it was dirt or what. The toilet dispenser was broken so the toilet paper was left on the toilet tank. The toilet ran all night, loudly. I had to find a white noise app on my phone and keep that on. When my husband went to shower that first night, I heard him say, "what the f" and I didn't know what happened. When he came out he said there is something that looks like pubic hair mixed with our cat's throw-up on the shower curtain. There were stains on the carpet by the sink. The towel holder on the cabinet under the sink was broken & jagged. When I got into bed, I noticed that some kind of liquid, possibly coffee, had been spilled down the side of the night stand. My nightstand lamp didn't work. There was a broken mercury bulb. Didn't know that until my husband touched it. You're not supposed to touch those. The description of the hotel said that each room has complimentary coffee, which was not the case. There was a coffee maker, but no coffee or cups. They also had coffee-like accoutrements in the lobby, but no actual coffee in them. There is a "charging station" area in the lobby, but nothing actually there. Nothing to charge anything with or any charging outlets. I booked through Expedia. I didn't want to go through the hotel for some type of reimbursement because I had another awful hotel experience in February 2023, where I did try to go through the hotel for some type of refund, to no avail. Just to be clear, I don't normally complain & I've never disputed a credit card charge for anything, but I definitely don't feel I should've had to pay for this stay at about $150/night with taxes and fees. But, for some of these trips, where I'm unfamiliar with the area, I have no idea where I am booking. I have to just rely on the fact that Expedia works with these hotels & take a chance. We could not leave to go to another hotel. This was a popular camp visiting day weekend, there aren't that many hotels to begin with, and there was no other place to go close enough to our son's camp. This hotel is at least thirty minutes away and we weren't looking to go further, especially without seeing anything available besides a literal tent. And what if the next place was even worse? I contacted Expedia before staying the 2nd night at the property. We had to stay a second night because we were seven hours from home and not prepared to start that drive at the end of visiting day. Expedia told me they would work on a partial refund and they'd get back to me within 24-48 hours. They didn't. I contacted them and they said the property was refusing to do anything for me and it was out of their hands. I contacted my Chase credit card to dispute the charge. They can't do anything because we didn't leave after the first night, even though we had nowhere to go & there was no other option. I also thought Expedia was working on it, so I had no idea that the only recourse I'd have would be if I left mid-stay. All in all, the Ramada is horrible. The front desk staff, especially "Mike", are not meant for the service industry. I would never stay here again. I would rather rent a tent.

Not the Hotel's fault, but another male guest followed me from the parking lot as i was unloading my car and then was loitering around the small lobby while i was checking in. Then was walking to close behind me as i was headed to my room. Had the family across from my room not come out of their room as i was deciding on what to do. I probably would have walked back out to the desk and checked back out. I locked myself in my room with a llight on and left first thing in the morning.

The hotel was less than average but i was ok with that since I was visiting my grandson at Bates. On Saturday night I had spilled some wine on the floor of my room and grabbed a towel to pick up the spill. When I looked at the towel after cleaning up my mess, it was black. Meaning the floor was filthy. I went to the front desk early Sunday morning, October 5th and asked for the manager. A woman at the desk told me that the manager was not in even though i saw him while having coffee in the lobby. I did not want to make a scene so I asked if I could talk privately to the woman behind the counter about an issue I had. She said, yes, I am the person who resolves issues at this hotel. Great, we went into the hallway, her suggestion and I began telling her about the situation and that I had used a towel to clean up my mess and when I looked at the towel it was black. That the floors were dirty. Her first comment was I should not have used the towel to wipe the floor. I said I did not think I had an option, was I to use my clothes? She said I should have called the front desk to ask them to clean up the mess. It was around 10pm and I was in my pajamas. I said that sounded ridiculous to me and that I was "pissed" that I spent $480 or so to stay two nights and I was staying in a room that was dirty. She said, "you are in my space." I said, I am sorry and I understood people needing space. She said, I am sorry I have an issue regarding my personal space. I told her I understood and that I had worked in Human Resources for 25 years and understood. She then asked me why I did not report the dirty floor when I first arrived at the hotel, I said because I did not spill anything on the floor my first night. She then said we will fix the problem and walked back to the lobby and behind the desk. I said how can you fix the problem if you don't know my name or my room number? She said I was going to ask you that but you got in my face. Now we are in a public area and I gave her my name and room number. I left the premiss immediately that Sunday morning, 8am. It is now Monday morning and I have not heard back from the hotel. I waited to see how they would resolve the issue but, I guess that was not their intent or they did not want me to know how it was resloved. I am very well traveled and I have NEVER had an experience like this, EVER. I would never stay at this hotel again and I suggest you never do either. Nicole and Geoff have a beautiful inn and were so accommodating to our small wedding. The food is something I really want to highlight, the complimentary breakfasts were so tasty, and everyone loved them. We did a lobster bake for our rehearsal dinner and for the night of the wedding the Microwedding package we had purchased included a coursed dinner. Both meals absolutely blew us and our guests away. Our group's favorites were the seasonal creamed spinach, the hot honey burrata salad, and the filet mignon. We tend to be a little particular about food and the meals could not have been better. If you are debating having any kind of wedding at wolf cove or even just a romantic weekend away I would not hesitate to book here! Thank you to the Wolf Cove Inn team for making our wedding weekend so seamless and beautiful!
