I've reviewed Mule House twice over the past few years we've been going and despite the 30-min. drive, we've been quite a few times even bringing friends & relatives. Sad to say we're likely done for foreseeable future. In a growing trend, they've had problems with the beverage station. Usually, it's no unsweet tea but we've also seen the fountain drinks out of order too. For the tea, they say their 2nd tea urn "broke." Ok, you're making $2.75 profit off of every $2.95 glass of tea you sell. Buy another urn. Or - as some places do - get a 2-gallon pitcher, boil water, add three 20-cent tea bags & you're good to sell 25 or 30 units at probably $3 each! But the final straw is that they seem to have adjusted the fig-prosciutto pizza recipe, swapping in basil for arugula. And last visit, they put the basil on before cooking so their blazing wood-fired oven nearly incinerated the basil. Then, when wife asked for some arugula, they brought out some wilted scraps for her but then could be seen refilling the arugula bin with a fresh batch. There appear to be only teenagers working when we go - which admittedly is usually a weekend - but maybe the owner should check in now & then as they've now lost a fairly regular customer. read more

Just off the square of downtown Cartersville. Small shop making wood fired pizza. Friendly staff. Good selection. I believe all pizzas are individual sized. We ordered a jalapeños popper appetizer, and 3 pizzas. Price was mid $50s. I really liked their poppers. A bit different from what everyone else makes but tasty with good crunch. Wife and daughter liked their choice of pizza. I liked mine too but felt it had a lack of chicken. Overall good and glad we tried. read more

Came in October 23, 2025 around 2 pm. It's a great location downtown on Maim Street and you can sit at the window and watch the street scene as you eat and socialize. The restaurant itself is a cool little joint with tables and a bar at the window. The staff are all pleasant, efficient and professional. The pizzas are all 10" personal size pizza, but one could feed 2 frugal eaters. I ordered a sausage, olives and banana pepper pizza. It was pretty good but not much meat on it (see attached pics). The pizza is made fresh and the crust is good, but make sure you get the crust you want; mine came with some kind of cheese crust which is ok but probably better with different toppings. Overall I was happy with the service and atmosphere, and I will not say the food was bad, it just wasn't my style of pizza, I'm more of a New York style pizza guy (New Haven crust and topping to be precise) so I hope this review won't discourage people from going there. For the price, service and atmosphere this is a cool place to go to, and many other people including my family and friends absolutely love the pizza. (The iced tea is southern style and excellent!) Amazing wood fire pizza. The exposed brick and open wood fire stove lends to the great atmosphere. The young lady behind the counter met us with a smile and the service was quick. Got the family special and fed the four of us perfectly. The buffalo chicken was great. The Margherita pizza could use a little more salt and mozzarella but the sauce made up for it. This is a gem in Cartersville! Starting as a food truck, Mule House has a physical location on W Main St and is one of the first places I recommend to visitors and friends. You can make a custom pizza, but I am fan of the regular menu, including the carnivore and the everything. The crust is light and tasty, just beware of your fingernails trapping the black crispy under surface after eating (typical of a wood fired pizza joint). Service is always prompt, with delivery to the table usually 10-15 minutes after ordering at the counter. I have only been in town a few months, but I have run into a few familiar faces while waiting for my order. I really wanted this to be good and have a small business in town that I could support, but it really wasn't. The pizzas were very small and overpriced, and of course, their online ordering software included the ubiquitous ask for a tip despite getting takeout and no additional service deserving of a tip, but they are not alone in this regard. When I got home I really just hoped that the taste of the pizza would justify the expense, but again I was disappointed. They left way too much crust without toppings and the sauce lacked real flavor. For the record, I ordered a meat pizza, a garlic pizza and a bacon ranch pizza. With tax and tip I spent $43. It was a one and done for me. Hopefully I caught them on a bad night and they will improve, but I won't pay to try and find out. read more

The pizza itself was good. I usually order just plain cheese whenever I go to a new pizza place, but I strayed from my norm this time. I opted for the fig and prosciutto. The crust was thin, crispy and delicious. The flavors were a good combo, but it was a little overpowered by the sweet fig jam. I also ordered the blueberry surprise zeppoles. The surprise was that they weren't zeppoles. They were little fried dough bites, also overly sweet. They weren't bad tasting, just 100% not zeppoles. What was brought to me was covered in pepperoni. The young man recommended "All or nothing" without pepperoni or bacon. However that doesn't come with mushrooms which I love. Their idea of pizza sauce it basically crushed tomatoes no added flavor. She really didn't care and the rest of them could see me and didn't blink an eye. I've been to a lot of wood-fired pizza places. I've never seen a place absolutely burn pie after pie like Mule House. Even if they don't manage to burn your pizza, there's ash all over the bottom anyway because they burnt the previous 50 pizzas and don't bother to scrape or clean their stone. 5 of the six slices (on a good day, only the 6th is burnt) are just okay, nothing special.
