I contacted The Moving Guys at the recommendation of a friend who claimed they were good and reliable after observing them move a friend of hers. My experience with this company was completely to the contrary. They showed up on October 18, 2025 to move furniture from one house to another. They were young and obviously inexperienced and did not have the strength to move the furniture. It started with one guy (BK) bumping a night stand against a cocktail table in the living room when there was plenty of room to get by. The guy did not appear bothered by it and did not offer an apology. As the move continued, things got progressively worse. As they were moving the furniture into a brand new house they nicked, bruised, scuffed, and left smudge and sweat marks on the walls going upstairs. In addition, when bringing in the mattress, they were careless and forced it up the stairs to the point of tearing down the plaster and damaging the paint job. As I was taking a look at the damage, one of the guys (Patrick) immediately replied "There is no way we did that" to which I replied "Yes, you did. I stood right here and saw the plaster falling from the wall." Also, my mattress was damaged afterwards. Prior to leaving the old house the mattress was fine and in good condition. After they moved it in, I discovered a major dent on the left side of the entire mattress that was not there initially. Clearly they pressed other furniture against it in the truck causing the damage. The manager of the company texted me during the move to inquire of how things were going to which I informed him of all of the aforementioned except the mattress as I had not discovered the damage as yet. I also sent him pictures of the damaged walls. Approximately a day or two later I spoke with the manager (Josh) on the phone and he apologized for the experience and stated he would like to make things right and offered to come move the last piece of furniture which was a dresser for free. In addition, his crew did not have the proper equipment to remove the mirror from the dresser; however, a friend of mine came over with the tools needed to remove the mirror. I informed the manager (Josh) that at this point, I was not willing to take a chance on his crew moving the dresser and potentially causing further damage to the new house as they clearly were too inexperience and not strong enough to handle the job. After this phone call with the manager, a few days went by and I never heard back from him so I called him to inquire and received his voice mail. I left a message as to when he planned to come move the dresser and he replied back via text that he spoke with his crew and they said I said it was too heavy to be moved out, and there was nothing he could do to help. Frankly, the dresser was not too heavy; only too heavy for the initial crew. The manger, Josh was clearly insincere in his stance to correct the situation and out right lied to me. When he stated he wanted to make things right, I expected him to do so, but instead he reneged on his initial resolve. Also, he did not offer to come to the house to assess the damage and see for himself the damage. Finally, he told me that the crew he sent to move me were new and that the original crew including himself were off that day. Also, the truck was very small and as a result took several trips to move. Fortunately, my new house was very close by. Moreover, the moving crew took no care in how they handled and moved my furniture or in not hitting and messing up the walls. I would not recommend The Moving Guys to anyone on the planet unless of course you want your furniture and house damaged with no accountability for their negligence, and of course if you want to do business with a manager who flat out lies to you. Would I use The Moving Guys again? Absolutely not. I'd rather be coated with honey and run through a swarm of bees! So please beware of The Moving Guys. I rate them a minus "ZERO" on a scale of 1-10. read more
