I called them to haul away some old retainer wall bricks and stone edgers from the front of my house. They responded in about 10 minutes after I requested an estimate on Yelp to set up a time to come out and give me the estimate. They told me they could come out the same day between 3-5pm. They called me about 2:45 to advise they were running a little behind which was fine. Don still showed up before 5pm and gave me a price that I felt was too high. After some negotiating they brought the price down to $250 which was still a little higher than I wanted to pay but, I was ok with it because the other quotes I got were in the same ball park. Don and Silas (I believe was the other guy's name) showed up the next morning 15 minutes earlier than they said which was awesome, and within 15-20 minutes had everything loaded up and hauled away. They were very nice and professional and if I ever need to have anything else hauled away, I'll make sure to give them the job. Thanks guys! read more

When looking for a mini dumpster rental I liked the fact the I could do both trash and yard waste in the same container since I was cleaning out old landscaping and overgrowth. The delivery and pick up was quick and easy, and the drivers polite. My two problems were I was told that the drop off would be between 12-6 and the driver would call when he was on his way. The drivers didn't call and showed up after 6. I was told the pick up would be between 12-5. Again no call. At 5:30 I contacted Junk King because no one had shown up and was told that the driver was supposed to call me to update me on the ETA, never called. I called back 40 minutes later and was told that the driver was currently on his way to me. I still never received a call from the driver. At 7pm, 2 hours late, the driver finally showed up. Since punctuality is majorly important to me, and I had to cancel an appointment because they were late I had to drop my rating. Had the driver bothered to call, and they had shown up at either end within the drop off/pick up windows the rating might have been better. read more

Came early, which was nice, and it totally worked for us. Staff made their estimate pretty quickly after taking a look around. I scheduled to get my old two piece sectional picked up with Junk King after scheduling it online through the Yelp messenger app to shake hands on a quote. They didn't come out as the cheapest but after being informed of that, the rep didn't just match the lowest quote I got, they beat it by a decent margin. Now that is going for the business! They also scheduled a pickup *that weekend* and arrived promptly at the earliest part of the time-window I was given. The crew was courteous and kind. The only bummer was that their credit card reader was broken so I had to blow the dust and cobwebs off my checkbook - but the price, I'll let it slide. Highly recommended! What a rip off!!! Way overcharged. These guys charged me $318 to haul off a small pile of cardboard and few garbage bags. This was barely enough garbage for a pick up truck. They busted a bag when throwing up in truck and it spilled all over my driveway and they left the spill for me to clean up. I have an injured back and had to drag my hose to my driveway and clean it myself. What a disgrace to humanity!!!! Do not use this service...they deserve negative stars! read more

the customer service rep on the phone who I spoke with to schedule was very nice. unfortunately during the day of the appointment they scheduled our window from 8-10 am. they did not show up and we received now new estimate on when they would be arriving. I reached out to see if I could get an updated eta and was placed on hold for 10 min until I finally just hung up and called back. spoke with a different rep who said the business owner would be calling me right back with an updated eta. that did not happen either. I was also communicating via text with someone at JunkKing and they were of little help as well. I ended up cancelling the appointment because 1800-got-junk was able to come within an hour and promised they would update me if there were any delays. it's very important to communicate if there are delays, I have to plan accordingly with my job and also my husbands, and plus we moved all of our stuff on the lawn already so it just was a bummer they didn't communicate better with us. 1800-got-junk promptly called us a half hour before they arrived and called upon arrival. that's the type of service I would have liked to receive from junk-king. read more

So late last year I went from being a longtime apartment dweller (and suburbanite) to buying a home in Columbus proper. Which now means I get City of Columbus trash service. Because of the long July 4th weekend and how our pickup schedule was "bumped" by the city, we basically had no trash service for the better part of two weeks. "No problem," I said, "I'll just buy another can at home depot and put all the extra trash in it, then put it on the curb for pickup day!" It turns out the City of Columbus doesn't pick up non-City cans...so that's more than a bit of a problem. After looking around for some options to get rid of this big can of garbage, I called Junk King. They scheduled everything I needed quickly, and took care of loading up and hauling it all away within 24 hours! Everyone was very professional and helpful, and even though it stung a little to have paid for a trash can it turns out I can't use and to have the extra garbage hauled away, I have nothing bad to say about the service I got from them. We had a treadmill removed from our basement. The appointment was easy to schedule and the team was on time, polite and efficient.

I appreciate that they were available on a Saturday, but lots of trouble with the timing quoted. I chose 2-4pm, got a call at 2:07pm and said they were running late. They finally called me at 4:37pm and said they were on their way. They arrived around 5:10pm. They quoted us and got to work, mind you this was not a ton to take away. A rather small hill of loose dirt, rocks, and some big pieces of cement. They began working, we went inside and they started a break. 15 minutes into working they took a break!!!! They were in their truck smoking cigarettes and on their phones. My husband went out around 5:30 and asked how long they would be. I saw them jump up as soon as he opened the door. They were caught, didn't realize we had noticed. We were waiting for them to get it done so we could leave since we had plans. We ended up paying them and they sent pictures once they were done. They did a good job and we weren't paying by the hour, so it's not the end of the world. They were great to talk too and very nice. read more

Hired Junk King to remove remnants of old privacy fence. They damaged the newly repaired fence while removing the remnants. At first the franchise owner, Erik Hughes, denied fault for the damage. Then later admitted to the damage. Without discussing a resolution, he snuck onto the property while we were away at work, performed sloppy repairs and removed parts of the fence his team damaged. We've requested a refund on the original service so that we can undo his repairs and do them correctly and with quality materials. read more

I am so glad I checked Yelp because that is where I found Junk Kings. They were not that much more than renting the dumpster & their price included the labor to load it. Driver came down about 33%, but price was still far too high for the amount of rubbish and in comparison to the other items on the truck. It seems driver has incentive to "rip you off" on the price.
