This has to be the worst experience I've had with a moving company. I was referred to them by a friend and they felt so bad about the referral they cried. Stay away if I could give zero stars I would. Missing items, up charges, broken furniture, spent 6 months fighting them. Just do me a favor find another vendor. Let me help someone if I couldn't help myself. Let me add by saying their manager Mark another biggest asshole. They left 50% of the furniture behind I had to hire another company to move it. I believe the good reviews on here are fabricated by the company putting fake positive reviews. Stay away from this company and the con artist senior citizen owner who bullshits you into a contract. You end up being screwed over the trauma never leaves your mind. Ugh.... Consumer be aware! You're going to need a SURGEON if you use the Moving Doctor!!! Received a quote but my move was delayed 9 months. I was told by Danny, no need for a second quote but I did it anyway. Both quotes were by the same person Patrick, but significantly different with pricing. Oh and the quote is a proposed quote.... can change at their whim. First flag. This was a referral so I went with them. He reviewed the first page of pricing changes but failed to mention the storage increase of over $100.00 per month. My error..... I didn't even realize it until the bill came and I called to tell them it was wrong.... too late because my entire house was in storage. I was told everything was in a thermostatically controlled, safe environment. When I received my furniture 6 months later, the arms of my couches were damaged due to heavy items being placed on them, China was in pieces, Italian pottery cracked in half etc... not to mention the plastic office floor protector curled up because of the heat.... not thermostatically controlled at all. Look at the pictures.... When I called to complain I was told it was because I packed it. Rude arrogant and nasty! I was then offered $190.00 by Danny but before they'd send me a check I was sent a piece of paper that I'd have to sign saying I could not talk about how dissatisfied I was to anyone, social media, anywhere. It was Gag Money which didn't cover the damages at all.... Decided they can keep their Gag Money.... it's more effective and more money lost on their end to post this review. Use some other company. Impeccable, Magnificent, Stress-Free. The gentlemen that moved me into my new home were conscious of my belongings & very very careful of the doors-ways, stairs, walls, etc... Originally I had a completely different moving company to my storage, which was nothing but completely frustrating & disturbing. Never, never, never would I use anyone but The Moving Doctor,. Overall good experience, I had no major issues, they were respectful of my belongings and followed instruction. They even made great suggestions. The more pre-work you do as the customer (packing/taping boxes, writing where the boxes should go, taking apart bigger pieces of furniture for the garbage or dump, etc.), the easier it will be for the moving crew and your wallet. Good: -Hired a 4 man crew for a move from a 3 story walk up. -The appointment to view the belongings for a quote was fairly quick but very accurate. -They have extra garment boxes, and tape if needed -I was quoted 4 hour move plus 1 hour travel time, and the job was done with time to spare. -They were efficient and did their thing. -They helped move furniture out of one spot and into another no problem. Please note: -I left 2 voice mails asking about a box that I could not find, I found the box but The Moving Doctor still have not returned my call...weird. -Not bad, but beware if they use their supplies (extra boxes, tape, wrapping for night stands) you get charged for the materials used on top of the original quote. -Don't waste your time, make sure you can tell the movers where boxes should go, or write it on the your box. read more

Shameful what I saw this evening....after this company finished moving my elderly in-laws from their home of 50 years, into their new home, I witnessed the "head mover" tell my 80 year old mother in law that in fact what she was tipping them was not enough. He then proceeded to shake her down for more money, claiming that a minimum tip was $50 per mover and she was $90 short. Embarrassed she handed over the money. Really?!? read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! The salesman Patrick assured me I would get pickup with next day delivery. I even confirmed with Dany in dispatch the day we scheduled. Next day no one shows. They tell me my stuff will arrive in 30-60 days. Then patrick and Dany won't take any calls or respond to any emails. They even blocked my # so I couldn't contact them. They make promises and warn you what other companies do then they do the same thing. Liars and frauds. Use someone else. I've never encountered a more dishonest, rude, unreliable company. I have nothing bad to say about my moving experience with the Moving Doctor. Pat's estimate was spot on, as was all communication before the move. Pat was also a very nice guy and a pleasure to chat with. I moved a 3 bedroom house into a 1 bedroom (upstairs apartment) and the whole thing only took about 3.5 hours with 3 movers. The 3 movers were on time, professional, and so pleasant. I actually had fun with them! They were a good time. They took apart my bed and reassembled it in no time. I had real bad experience with them they gave us low quote just to get the job and time of moving they left lots of things behind and when we ask to move every thing they ask for more money. Let me start by saying I did not use this moving company, so I cannot attest for their moving. I called to make an appointment to schedule a move, I was quoted at $640 for 3 men, 3 hours of moving, with 1 hour of transportation. I explained I was getting quotes but would reserve my spot. I called back 20 min later to cancel due to a cheaper rate and received an extremely rude response. The man on the phone said yea he could've matched that price but he didn't think the job would get done well with only 2 men, and that other things weren't factored in. He then said "would you still like to cancel?". I said that I would and he said "ok bye." and hung up the phone. I just felt the whole interaction with this man was rude, unprofessional and frankly obnoxious and I will be sure to pass this along. read more

First let me start by saying that the movers were an A+. The only thing did not like was the policy that if they quoted you for certain hours and the moving goes up an hour they will charge you the $120 extra. But if the people only spent an hour on your moving, you still have to pay the full amount which I think is unfair. I gave the company a 3 stars because of the movers they have are excellent people, but the company itself are not the greatest (for lock of better words). I was quoted for 4 hours, 1 hour for drivers to get to my house and get to the base and 3 hours to work in my house. total $480 plus tip (since the guys asked for it) The guys got to my location at 8:30AM and they were done at 9:30 AM. We recently moved from a basement apartment to a second-level apartment (Aka LOTS of stairs) and hired the Moving Doctor to help us out. We are SO happy that we did! I must have called every moving company on LI to get an affordable quote, and the Moving Doctor rate was the best by a long shot. They quoted us for 3 hours and sent 3 men to complete the job. I can't believe how smoothly the whole process went! We have a baby so we had a lot of furniture and a whole bunch of boxes. The movers hustled and got everything done in exactly the 3 hour window. We were amazed! Everything was handled carefully and nothing was broken. Their customer service was also outstanding and the movers were extremely courteous. This move involved picking up furniture, boxes etc. from 2 places and delivering it all to another location. All three places were either basements or 2nd floor. a tough move with a lot of heavy items. The Moving Doctor gave us a fair price up front and an estimate of how long it would take. Three courteous, efficient gentlemen show up at the appointed time and were a blur of movement. Obviously professional and took their work seriously. The Moving Doctor estimator came to my apartment to review everything that I needed moved. Their price was the most affordable compared to 5-6 other companies that I reached out to. The communication was seemless via phone and e-mail. When moving day came, they arrived a few minutes before their scheduled window. We reviewed all things that they had to move. In 3 hours, a 3 bedroom apartment and patio set was packed up, driven a couple of miles down the road, and completely loaded into our new home. The movers were personable and very thorough with how they handled my furniture. All around, great to deal with. The estimate was exactly what I ended up paying. The movers were very considerate and courteous. They stored my furniture for a month. They worked with me on the timing of when I was able to move into my new place, charging me a minimal amount for the date changes. Everything was very clean when I got it back. For the most part, they did a wonderful job -- a few bumps and scrapes, and one lampshade damaged, but since the furniture had to stored, I was not upset. Great company. read more

this company was very negligent with my possessions as they moved them from Queens New York to Florida within the first 30 minutes they broke a $ 3,000.00 vase which i brought to there attention and was told that i must wait until the " job " it completed so that there will be one claim filed. also, my 1930 bottle of scotch in it's original box was no longer in my living room---i assumed it was packed, but this has not arrived in Florida upon arrival of my possessions in Florida, many furniture pieces were broken beyond repair. items that were comprised of several pieces had pieces missing making them incomplete and not usable boxes that were clearly marked " fragile " were crushed and the inside items broken there were large shoe prints on the sides of boxes and containers all my containers were new and these same containers arrived in the most grimy and dirty condition i labelled only 2 containers that i packed---one of the labelled containers is missing this container had inside the wooden box that contained my fathers ashes and my mother jewelry---the contents were not obvious unless it was opened and examined this company has demonstrated the most disregard of care of items they were paid to handle---i paid over $ 20,000.00 to move my items and my loss is more than that ---also, it would seem that i was charged by the box ( large and small )---the large boxes were filled half way or less. after contacting and speaking to the company representative, i was offered $ 300.00 because that is all they need to do according to New York State law for that type of business and the fact that they are " licensed and insured " does not mean for me and i should have bought insurance to cover anything broken or missing and sometimes things don't work out and this is one of those times i feel they took advantage as they knew i was struggling with the recovery from a life threatening illness and had to turn over my trust to them read more

And once they packed the truck, we were told to pay them in cash first then they will move. We did have cash, nor were we told about the cash.
