We have over half a dozen Meetup groups spanning Boulder, Westminster, Denver, downtown, and the DTC region, all meeting monthly, and finding a venue that truly supports what we're building isn't always easy. Thrive gets it. The space itself is fantastic. The modern design is thoughtfully done and creates an atmosphere that is both professional and inviting. It is welcoming, well-organized, and perfectly suited for the kind of collaborative, energetic gatherings that define our community. Every time our members walk through the door, the environment sets exactly the right tone. But what really sets Thrive apart is the people. A huge shout-out to Emma, who has been our primary point of contact and has been nothing short of wonderful. She is professional, responsive, and genuinely invested in making sure our events go smoothly every single month. She is the kind of partner that makes you feel like your event matters, because to her, it clearly does. If you are looking for a space that combines great facilities with people who truly care, look no further than Thrive Workplace! Highly recommended!

My review is of an event we attended at the Desk Chair in Loveland on July 17, 2026, presented as…read morethe "Rooftop Crab Boil". My husband & I along with another couple attended. The advertising for the event implied that they were very proud that this was their 5th Annual Crab Boil which made us eager to attend. Using a high school grading system ranging from A to F, we collectively rate this experience a "D" at best. First the PROS - Great views & ambiance of the rooftop setting at 201 East 4th Street, Loveland, CO. Weather was hot but location had drawn shades for sun shielding which helped quite a bit. Wait staff was excellent, table setup was roomy. The female singer had a jazzy vibe, and her voice was very good. The event coordinator (we believe that was her position) had great earrings! CONS - first, the event advertised "All boils are served family-style at your table" which for those who don't know this translates to the food is brought out in large, shared portions rather than individual plates and dumped in the middle of the paper covered table. However, it was not the reality! We were served individual meal ration in separate paper salad bowls and provided one napkin each! This was absurd! Our group has attended many Crab Boils in New Orleans & Texas and for us this presentation, as well as the food, was a BIG letdown. Let's talk about the food. Potatoes and corn were cooked acceptably but definitely lacking in spice & overall seasoning. Seafood was pitiful and grossly overcooked!! The snow crab leg shells were soft (water logged) rendering flavorless meat. The shrimp were overcooked and barely warm by the time it was served to us ... late mind you. De-shelling this mess was an ordeal, especially the shrimp. The shrimp were whole with heads, getting to the meat was a major chore. If you have ever tried to peel overcooked shrimp you experience the shell sticking to the meat to the point of ripping the meat to get the shell off. Secondly, the Event Coordinator announced there would be "delay in serving" to all the tables because a special party would be arriving late. The delay was approx 30 minutes as food was supposed to be served at 6:15 PM. Nothing hit our tables until ~7:45 PM. Not acceptable for a Crab Boil. You must serve it on-time, otherwise the seafood is over cooked, which it definitely was! The food was catered from Fort Collins by Little Latitudes Catering. The Caterer should have been experienced enough to know the cooking limitations of such a meal. We feel that delaying food service to everyone waiting on a late table was rude & showed a lack of respect to everyone else who paid for the event with the expectation of a correctly prepared meal. The cost for this event was $50.00 per person or $100.00 per couple. Thirdly, this event provided a wonderful female singer. Unfortunately, she was teamed with a sax player that drowned her out. His horn was so loud that we could barely speak to each other across the table, much less hear her. At an intermission I even went to the stage area and politely told them of the issue. They agreed and felt the location for their setup positioned them much too close to each other to prevent this. It seems to me that an experienced event planners at Desk Chair should be aware of the space logistics to manage this issue. On another note, yesterday I was at our local Costco and found they had complete 'shrimp & crab boil kits' serving 2 people for $57.00. That would make the meal half the price and for almost twice the quantity of food compared to what we got at this disastrous event. The kit is prepared in 10 to 15 minutes once the water comes to a boil. To me the science behind the cooking seems pretty simple to achieve desired results and avoid overcooking provided you don't add to the cooking time waiting on rude late guests! In conclusion: Unless some serious issues are addressed, I wouldn't expect the 6th "Crab Boil" to be any better. Our group concurs that we don't plan to ever attend THIS EVENT again.
