"ALERT - DO NOT SCHEDULE" MEDICAL REPORTS without a signature?…read moreWhat I experienced at RMA Seattle is not a simple misunderstanding. It is a case of mistreatment, discrimination, racism, retaliation, and administrative practices that should trigger every internal and external alarm. I am sharing this because no woman going through a fertility process should ever experience something like this. My experience at RMA Seattle -- and why I demand internal audits On August 28, I went to an outside monitoring appointment recommended by Dr. Sunny (CCRM San Francisco) and Dr. Kathleinn Lin. I trusted that recommendation. But from the very first contact, everything was a disaster. 1. More than 20 ignored calls To schedule a simple appointment, I had to make more than 20 calls in one day. The system sends you to a voicemail that requires a password to leave a message. How is a patient supposed to communicate like that? 2. Sarcastic and aggressive front desk staff The receptionist, Brittany Warker: * Misspelled my last name * Responded with sarcasm * Showed discriminatory and racist behavior She apologized, but it was clear there was no intention to correct anything. 3. The Seattle manager lost control One day before my appointment, on August 27, I sent an email requesting --with full justification-- to be seen by someone experienced, considering my four fibroid surgeries. The manager's response was: * Disrespectful * Discriminatory * And she practically suggested that I "go somewhere else," attaching an aggressive response and ignoring what I had requested. Is that how you treat a patient in such a delicate IVF process -- a process she claims she also went through? 4. On the day of the appointment, I asked to speak with a manager... and "there was no one" Convenient. 5. I tried to reschedule... and ended up traveling to California They told me they do not attend on weekends. Given such negligence, I traveled to California to receive safe care. 6. On December 16, I tried to schedule an appointment in Bellevue... and the worst happened The manager called me to cancel my appointment because they could not provide outside monitoring for Egg Whisperer. She even mentioned that she "also went through an IVF," as if that justified denying care to another woman. 7. She contacted my private doctor -- and my doctor confirmed it by phone She told her they would not schedule appointments for me because "I offended them." Since when is asking for efficiency an offense? 8. I requested my records... and found something extremely serious Through Egg Whisperer, I requested my records from 08/28. This is what I found: * The report has no medical signature * The technician's name does not appear * It only says "RMA/SEA/Bell" * And the most serious part: They included an internal alert: "PATIENT: ALERT - DO NOT SCHEDULE" Is it professional or valid to place such an alert in an unsigned report? Who authorized that? Based on what criteria? And how many more patients have been marked this way? I am attaching photos of this entire situation because it is unacceptable. My conclusion If you are in a fertility process, especially with medical conditions like fibroids, it seems that at RMA Seattle they expect you not to ask questions, not to request clarity, and not to give feedback. Because if you do, they punish you with discrimination, racism, and by harming the IVF patient to frustrate your IVF process and limit medical access. What a "proud" set of values they claim to uphold -- represented by people who act with zero professionalism. This type of behavior should never be validated.

I am a victim of medical malpractice caused by poorly trained nursing staffs at RMA Seattle under…read moreDr. Lin. I came to Dr. Lin last summer after raving recommendations from many good friends. My experience was the exact opposite!!! The nursing team were poorly trained and uneducated about fertility medications. My protocol was lupron microdose flare that must be compounded but the advanced coordinator RN sent the lupron compound prescription to my mail order pharmacy on 8/18/23 that does not do compound. My lupron microdose was supposed to 0.04 mg twice a day (20 units/0.2ml twice a day using an insulin syringe that comes with measurement of 100 unit/ml). The pharmacist called the clinic to inform they don't compound and another nurse on 8/22/23 gave the authorization to change microdose lupron to the regular strength lupron 14mg kit with concentration 1mg/0.2ml, but my dose was the same - 20 units/0.2ml twice a day using an insulin syringe, which was 1mg twice a day. I ended up being overdosed on lupron by 25 times. I started lupron the day before starting stim and continued through the duration of stim, a total of 9 days. This RN never informed Dr. Lin or got the authorization from Dr. Lin to change lupron from microdose to regular strength; she made that change with no understanding of the 25 times dose difference between microdose lupron (0.04mg/0.2ml) and lupron 14mg kit (1mg/0.2ml). By 6 days into using lupron, I only had 1 day left of lupron and messaged the clinic if I needed a refill of the lupron kit. The advanced RN coordinator who was in charge of my procotol should have caught at the time that I was on the lupron kit and not the compound product, but she didn't. My response to stim that round was the poorest of all the retrievals I have done and at the last monitor before the retrieval we were only expecting 1 mature egg. I suspected the lupron negatively impacted my response and just thought my body didn't agree with it. The morning at the last monitor I told the PA I was not doing a retrieval with 1 egg. I did not want to waste my insurance coverage that had a limited lifetime cap on one single egg. Dr. Lin called me that afternoon to convince me to move forward with my 16mm follicle and said this was my "golden egg". I followed her advice and had the retrieval. My golden egg didn't fertilize and she discharged us from the clinic because of my poor response. This was my 1st and only round with her, but I did 2 prior retrievals at another clinic so I was confused about my lacking respond this round. I begged Dr. Lin to let me do another retrieval without lupron but she refused. I didn't find out about my lupron overdose until Feb 2024. I confronted the clinic since and appealed to be compensated for my botched retrieval due to lupron overdose and thousands spent on IVF meds. Their resolutions team concluded that the lupron overdose was at the fault of the pharmacy for filling the prescription and that I wasn't suppressed by lupron overdose. Their clinic denied the lupron overdose prescription was malpractice and said it didn't alter my clinical response. Their clinic took no responsibility for their medical malpractice caused by their poorly educated nursing staffs. I have done 5 retrievals at 3 clinics and out of 4 retrievals I got 6, 5, 4, and 6 mature eggs. The only round with 1 mature egg and the lowest E2 on trigger day out of my 5 retrievals was at RMA Seattle. The clinic cashed out on my insurance benefits and discharged me, and after finding out in Feb this year that their medical negligence resulted in my poor response they refused to own their mistake and make it right by compensating me for my financial losses. Instead they put the blame on the pharmacy. The pharmacy filled exactly what was ordered. There is hard evidence that the nurse made the change to my lupron strength and updated me through the RMA portal that she made that change on 8/22. The advanced RN coordinator sent out my instructions protocol on 8/30 which stated I was to be on microdose lupron starting 9/1. Upon further research, I learned that the lupron dose used to treat prostate cancer is 1mg daily. The dose for ovarian suppression in women with breast cancer is 3.75mg every 28 days, which comes to 0.13mg per day. I was on 1mg twice a day for 9 days, 2 times greater than the dose that is used for prostate cancer and 15.4 times greater than the dose for ovarian suppression. How could lupron not negatively impacted my ovarian response when my dose was 15.4 folds higher than the dose used for ovarian suppression itself? I attached my clinical outcomes for the 5 retrievals I did. The poorest respond was at RMA Seattle with the lowest estrogen level and only 1 mature egg retrieved. Dr. Lin is highly educated, but she lacks integrity in owning her nursing staffs mistakes and taking responsibility.

When we decided to start again, we trasnferred our records over to Poma and really appreciated the process. The online portal system worked well for us and the nurses are super quick to respond. All of the staff that we worked with, from front desk, blood draws, exams, retrieval, and transfers, were all very professional and patient with my questions. Sometimes the doctors were quick during a scan, but I always felt the nurses were available for clarification on questions. I appreciated that they are open everyday of the week, because they know that your cycle isn't going to align with a work week. Paying out of pocket seemed to be the only frustrating thing, as sometimes you get a bill for something that happened months ago. The online portal to pay is easy though, so no issues. Also, keep in mind that medications are always extra. Add about $5k to the amount they quote, but definitely use the online pharmacy and rebate programs they recommend. Ending with a pregnancy is a success in my book.

This isn't entirely their fault but I really wish it was more normalized to ask if it's ok to have a doctor of the opposite sex for your reproductive health care. Because I was uncomfortable to be thrown into a room for my consult with a male doctor. Not his fault, he was great and very professional... I just personally have a huge trauma issue with it and I would of appreciated being asked first out of curtesy because I'm sure there's millions of other woman with this request as well. Even though the male doctor I had was professional and very knowledgeable on everything... I told him twice I did not want to proceed with any treatment or testing at this time. And that my husband and I want to focus on his testing first as it was much easier and cheaper to do for now. But regardless of being asked twice in person, I was also email about it twice. Feels very pushy and weird. After my husband had his tests done it took 2.5 weeks, 4-5 phone unanswered phone calls, 2 voicemails and 1 portal message to get a response.... Absolutely not ok. And finally when they did upload his results to the portal (which is horrible to navigate btw)... it gave very vague information to where they told him he had to come in and make another appointment just for them to explain that he was fine.... Overall: - The client portal is so hard to use and not helpful at all. - the environment for me felt pushy and disrespectful - the communication between staff and client is HORRIBLE - completely disorganized staff This is a very vulnerable field of medicine. And as the client you HAVE to feel safe and comfortable with all the things that go along with fertility and reproductive care.... At the end of the day I did not feel that even slightly. Will not ever go back to them.

It took about 6 months before I could talk about it without crying, some things I'm not gonna share on a public form. Ultimately my body became a product and a vessel I was no longer a patient or a person. They dismissed an allergic reaction to a medication. Threaten to drop me if I couldn't make a pre schedule appt they made without my permission. Doctors often felt cold. I remember calling friend towards the end because a doctor asked me how I was and was being kind towards me- it felt like such an anomaly. The doctors invited the intended parents to be in the room during the transfer without my consent. There's so much that I am not comfortable putting on a public form but after I was hysterically crying during the transfer- I had to quit and unfortunately at the expense of the family. Had the clinic been intentional and focused on providing me the patient care and not just providing a service for the intended family- I would've went the third round of IVF for the family. The family took a big financial hit and I am still emotionally recovering.

Like many others, it was a very stressful time emotionally and financially. Our the first clinic did not make us feel cared for and added to the stress and frustration. When we decided to move the care to a different clinic, we did lots of research and landed with PNWF. It was such a difference! Everyone at PNWF made us feel very supported. Dr. Massie was our primary physician. She was warm, knowledgeable, and sincere. Given our history, we had lots of obstacles. We truly appreciate her candidness and the willingness to have a difficult conversation with us to lay out all possible outcomes. Meanwhile, she remained encouraging and kept us hopeful through the process. The care team made this process a lot less stressful for us. Everyone we met at the clinic genuinely cared. It was one of those places that it just seems every employee enjoyed working there. With multiple parties involved in the surrogacy process, they did a great job to keep all of us informed. The staff was on top of our appointments and often checked in before we even had anything to report back. This was a such a contrary to our experience with the first clinic. We are very glad we found PNWF and made the decision to move the care here. It was more expensive for us to travel here out of state, but the experience worths every penny. To everyone out there reading this review and considering their fertility options, best of luck! After almost 9 years of trying different options, we are now expecting a baby boy. The process is already challenging by itself, but the right care team will make it bearable. The team at PNWF did exactly that and more to help us.

I've observed that people reserve their five-star reviews for when things go well. I understand…read morewhy.  However, I'm going to write this based on my experience thus far. I'm tempted to call out specific names, but instead I'm going to talk about each team that I've worked with as I think on a whole you are likely to have this experience whether it is Bellevue or Seattle location. Scheduling/Appointments: when you call please be sure to dial the correct number to get transferred to the right team. One time I waited for 50 minutes to schedule an appointment because I clicked new patient instead of existing. Once you're matched with someone on the appointment team they ask really good questions, and if they're not able to answer the specifics of appointments for you will make notes for the nursing team to respond as soon as possible. They're all very polite from what I've experienced. Nursing: one of the things I love the most about the nursing team is how throughout this process they ask me how I'm feeling, and I can tell that they're not just checking in on my symptoms but also are genuinely interested with concern. They also seem to get along really well. Whether it was calling to check in with me, giving me follow-up messages and instructions, or actually being with me for appointments I always felt support and safe. Physicians: I'll be completely honest my preference is female physician when it comes to this particular area, not because I do not like male doctors but because their perception of the process is different because they literally cannot physically relate. For example, I did a procedure that was incredibly painful, and one of the male physicians recommended that I do it again because he didn't know exactly how painful it could be. That said all of the physicians will answer as many questions as you ask and stay on the call with you for as long as needed. Now this may not be so great when you're waiting for your appointment, but when you're that person who has a lot of questions it truly does make a difference.  Anesthesiologist: The anesthesiologist I was assigned to seems to have a really good sense of humor, and had an energy of confidence and competence that I would be safe and that my heart and breathing would be monitored carefully throughout the procedure. I automatically trusted her having only met her once. Surgeon: I ended up with a male surgeon, which I experienced trepidation around for aforementioned reasons. However the way he introduced himself to me maintaining eye contact, going over the process in layman terms, and being gentle and encouraging when I expressed anxiety also made me feel a sense of trust. There was a Stern looking his eyes, but it wasn't from a domineering place rather a confident place. He said only what he thought was necessary and left room for questions but wanted to make sure we started on time which I appreciated. Phlebotomists: I've worked with this team the most and I'm going to be completely truthful with you. When the phlebotomist is a person of color, the likelihood of them checking for veins and finding a vein and drawing blood the first time is higher and more likely, in my experience. That said, my recommendation is to breathe through injections and drink lots of water before any blood draws (unless they tell you to fast),so you have a higher chance of not needing to be pricked more than once. Records: I've only worked with via messages and they get back to me in a day or less, which is awesome. You don't just receive your records, you have to request them anytime you have an appointment. So after every appointment I reach out and they've been okay with that so far. Billing: After you come up with a plan with your physician and nursing team, Billing will both call and send detailed info about what's covered & what isn't. They're available check ins and after meds we're ordered they helped with claims. They're very responsive. If you read this far, good for you. I'm wishing you the very best on your journey and I hope that this review helps. Thank you, SRM team!

Pinnacle Fertility (formerly SRM) completely ignored the monitoring instructions from my IVF physician. They did not perform the required follicle count or lining measurement. Instead, they measured fibroids--irrelevant to my case--and sent an incomplete report to the wrong clinic and incomplete. I had to repeat the ultrasound elsewhere the next day. The technician was distracted, training another staff member without prior consent, and clearly had not reviewed the order. They simply do not pay attention, do not follow instructions, and do not provide the level of care IVF patients need. I do not recommend this clinic for anyone undergoing fertility treatment. Also, ultrasound are not performed by physicians but by technicians who often can not locate the ovaries and then blame on the patient and if La Thanya apologized for this mistake don't believe it.

After five years, fibroids regrew--which is not uncommon. I went in for imaging every 10 months or…read moreso to keep track of fibroid growth and I'm glad I did. Around the five year mark, they found adenomyosis, which is a common side effect of any gynecological surgery. It appeared on my surgical sites. This isn't the doctor's fault, but it's useful to know and to get imaging for it in the years after surgery. Problem is, when I went back to Dr Winner about a 2nd myomectomy, she encouraged me to do the myomectomy--which could have further increased my Adenomyosis issue. Mine was caused by surgery. The risk of more Adenomyosis was high with another myomectomy. Also, the iron testing she does before surgery is very general--I was anemic (at 24) when her test said my iron was fine. The Adenomyosis was making me anemic (it bizarrely hoards iron in the uterus). At no point did doctor winner advise me that there were other options for treating the Adenomyosis, like HIFU and UAE--both don't require traditional surgery and have great results for fibroids and Adenomyosis while preserving the uterus and eliminating the other health issues from Adenomyosis. This isn't fair to patients. I don't regret my 2020 surgery with Dr. Winner at all, myomectomy was my only choice with a massive fibroid and Winner was 100% the right choice. But when I complained of surgical site pain at my belly button, she didn't inform me that this could be a common side effect of the surgery where bits of endometrial lining could be accidentally left there--causing, essentially, endometriosis. There are interventional radiology treatments that are outpatient for this common side effect. Finding out that crucial context on my conditions had been left out by Dr. Winner in consultations was... not trust building. Dr. Winner should give patients more well rounded advice even if it means they don't choose surgery with her. She's amazing at getting big fibroids out with virtually no scars, doing endo excision, etc., but if you have post surgical issues or adenomyosis or fibroids that are 5-7cm and under, you may want to seek other consultations with interventional radiologists. Ultimately, I traveled to another state to get uterine artery embolization to kill off the fibroids and adenomyosis, which is performed through a single vein. No scars, no need for healing up my abdominal wall, and very little risk of causing more adenomyosis. 1.5 months out, my stomach has shrunk, my inflammation is down, my cycles are cycling and I feel great. I'll go in for cryo treatment of the belly button endo soon. --But I had to do extensive research and find other options all on my own. It would've been the kind thing to do to refer me to other practitioners so I could get the results I needed--elimination of adenomyosis and reducing risk of more adenomyosis sites.

No matter how many questions or concerns I had, the team always made an effort to respond in a timely manner and make me feel supported throughout the process. Dr. Deng is incredibly knowledgeable and truly knows what she is doing. One thing I appreciated most was how she personalized my treatment plan by adjusting medications and care based on my specific needs, body, and lifestyle instead of taking a one-size-fits-all approach. The journey itself was not easy. I went through two rounds of medication, and emotionally and physically it was very challenging. We lost three large mature eggs, which was heartbreaking, but Dr. Deng was still able to retrieve 12 medium eggs. In the end, only three eggs became embryos. We moved forward with one insemination using the best-graded embryo, holding onto hope and praying for a miracle. A year later, that miracle arrived.
