This couple came to my home and gave me an estimate of over $800 to repair what they call the kitchen clock that was dated back to the 1890s. It was a family clock that had been in my family for several generations. Needless to say I wasn't anxious to pay over $800 for the repair nor did I really believe that $800 was a reasonable quote. I called another clock repair out of Davis and he is going to repair it to the tune of $250 and will add another $25 if some kind of string is needed to be replaced not sure exactly what he meant but, $250 and possibly $275 is a far cry from over $800! I would like to say that I am very disappointed in the lack of follow through with Simone. I called her last week and she seemed very pleasant on the phone, asked all the right questions, took my information and told me that she would be in my area the following week (this week), and I explained that Wednesdays and Thursdays worked best. Well today is Wednesday and have not heard a peep from Simone at all! I should not have to call and chase after a service, and I wont. The company is offering a service and if Simone cannot follow through, then maybe she is not one to do the job. All I am asking as a customer, is Communicate! Wonderful experienced couple come to YOU.. at your home... work on the clock in your home and also take the innards back to their shop, do the repairs, and then return and put it all back together. Return to your home as many times as you need them until the clock is exactly on time. Great service, attitude, service. I highly recommend their clock repair services... My parents used The Mobile Clock Doctor to service and prepare my Grandparents' Grandfather clock for a 600 mile drive to my home in Las Vegas. It arrived last week and unpacked today with fingers crossed that it made a same trip. The clock was immaculately wrapped with cardboard and plastic. The chains were secured and tangle free. Weights were labeled right, center and left. Chimes and hammers were secured with cardboard and foam. August 24, 2014-Napa earthquake knocked over our grandfather clock, and smashed the case, knocked every single number off the dial, and made our clock unworkable.
