One of the two main Half Price Books locations I visit (Vernon Hills being the other one), this…read morespot provides a reasonable spot to sell old books while being able to buy lightly used ones at a discount. The book trade in process here is fairly easy and they are able to appraise books quite fast, though the values aren't super high -- though on the flipside they pretty much take any books for trade in. The shelves and displays are well maintained, and you can find lots of interesting and unusual books here. This is also a good place to look for some lightly used board games and refresh yourself on new editions or different variations of these games that might be as obvious when shopping elsewhere. The checkout process is fairly quick and friendly as well and there's plenty of parking right outside the store. Just be careful of the traffic pattern in the shopping center, particularly around the Asian grocery store as people tend to drive a bit fast within the lot.

From reading my past reviews, I very seldom rate a restaurant or entertainment venue this low. On…read moreFather's Day, we waited over two hours for our food. What finally arrived was a semi-cold, burnt pizza (pictures attached), while none of our other items ever came out. When we requested a refund, the manager first said "no refunds." About 15 minutes later, he returned with a refund receipt, saying it was the best he could do. I understand they were extremely busy, but this isn't the way to operate an establishment. You prepay for your food, seat yourself, and then servers wander around aimlessly checking table receipts with no real system or direction. They're clearly in need of table tracker devices or better organization. The bathrooms were clean. The only thing that kept this from being an even harsher review was Mathew, who was genuinely kind and tried to help. Without him, my experience would have been much worse.

If you want good customer service this place is not the hotel to stay in, what a disappointment!…read moreMy flights from the west coast were cancelled so I called the hotel to let them know I would be six hours late, originally to arrive at 11:30pm. "No problem" they said. I arrive at 6:15am to be told that I was a no show for my reservation. After 30 minutes of hemming and hawing and no knowing what to do the desk clerk tells me it's going to be awhile and I can go eat breakfast? What? I want to go to sleep! The manager comes in and they finally give me a room. Not the room I reserved but a room. It's an accessible room, which I didn't need, nor did I ask for, or reserve. Catch a shower and the soap dispenser is off the wall on a hand rail... really classy.. Hampton Inn's are usually on it but not this one. What a disappointment!

I was taking some classes at Harper Professional Center as part of a certification program and…read morereally enjoyed this building. It's far off from the main Harper campus which for me was a definite plus. That means parking right outside your classroom and you never have to worry about going up & down aisles to find parking. There is always parking at HPC! HPC has a nice computer lab you have full access to including printing, plus a resource in the lab if you need help with anything. Actually the HPC is full of resources there to help with anything an adult learner could need. It's actually a great facility completely geared to the post bachelor degree adult age learners which is nice. My personal opinion is when you're of that age you do well in classes you take because you truly are committed to the learning aspect in your courses as opposed to just getting by, & retaining information for tests. If you need to take some Harper courses and ever see them offered at HPC, I highly recommend opting to take them here. Great staff, location and minimal issues as opposed to the main campus.
