I attended a kid's birthday party that hired The Mini Express, while the train operator was attempting to make a u-turn, the wagons titled and fell onto my parked car. A child fell out of the wagon into the street, and luckily my car stopped the last two wagons with a lot more kids from completely tipping over. After two weeks of investigations, their insurance determined the policy excludes coverage for property damages. They provided no coverage for this loss and closed the file. It has been over four weeks since the incident, and I'm still having to work through reimbursement along with my insurance for the damages caused by The Mini Express. read more

We live in a cul de sac and our neighborhood has several other cul de sacs. There is no thru traffic so we were able to cruise around without worries. Marcos was our conductor. He was punctual and the train was set up and ready to go at our scheduled time, so set up and take down did not creep into the time we paid for. He was very pleasant and friendly. The kids enjoyed the train so much they were a bit upset when the time was up. The train seems to be electric so no loud engine noises or exhaust fumes. They had some speakers playing kid music. They are very unprofessional. I booked with them for my daughters 1st birthday and unfortunately we had to reschedule due to COVID, I tried contacting them to explain the situation and never answered any of my phone calls, I then tried emails, even text messages and nothing. This was back in January and we are now about to be in March, still haven't heard for them and all I want is my deposit back. I'm upset, have no way in getting in touch. I should of wrote this a while ago to maybe have warn other parents. I went to a child's bday party that used this service. It was great! The kids enjoyed it and it was great for parents riding along. I'm not sure if it was that day or the driver but for some strange reason things spiraled dangerously that my kid got hurt. It was traumatic for my kid and my wife to go through an accident like that. But the kicker is there was no apology or resolution afterwards. After reevaluating the day I noticed they never had any disclaimers or disclosures. There were no seat belts or anything to secure yourself or your child to. The seats were slippery and the cart itself didn't feel stable on turns. Well what ended up happening was myself and my kid flipped over and my kid flew out to the street. Luckily there was a car that slowed the fall so I was able to grab my kid in time before the cart fell completely down. But still, you can't leave your life and your children's life to random luck and chance. This review to help encourage this company to start adapting better policies or better safety because all it takes is one kid to get seriously injured, don't let it be yours. I suggest finding a better reputable company to book until this company can own up to it's mistakes. As of 4 weeks I still haven't received a statement or apology. read more

Caution Booking Online. I booked online at 1246 PM after leaving messages with several other trackless Train companies. The website said my date and time was available and sent me a confirmation. My credit card was charged $100 deposit and I assumed I had the reservation for my 3 yr old party. I received an email from Jesse at 7:46 pm tonight that my reservation is being canceled because they are over booked. Not a big deal except I passed on 2 other trackless train companies today and have to start all over tomorrow. Seems like a bait and see what the best deal is type operation. The train was super cute and exactly what I wanted for my son's train themed bday party, however the service fell short. When the conductor showed up at exactly 3pm (party started at 3, I was told he would show up at 240), the kids were already there and obviously wanted to get on the train immediately! While multiple kids were lined up, the conductor made everyone wait because he needed to be paid before he could take anyone on a ride. It was incredibly awkward sitting there waiting for my husband to go inside and get the checkbook to come out and pay in front of our guests! I had paid $325 for one hour (was to be $400 for two hours) , but then we requested he stay for another half hour since everyone was having so much fun. We assumed since a second FULL HOUR was $75, a half hour would be maybe half of that? NOPE- they charged us another $75 for that additional half an hour! We were totally taken advantage of! The only reason I'm writing this review is because I have received multiple emails and texts to please review their services. So, I hope that they take this review to heart and change some things. Online booking was easy, I was afraid it would get cancelled because it was scheduled to rain throughout the weekend. That Saturday there was light drizzle throughout the day, when the train arrived there were some sprinkles, but guests were having too much fun no one cared. Bottom Line Up Front, the train was beautiful and the kids loved it. So glad we ended up with this train. He was early and stayed for the full hour. They lose half a star because I originally booked it for 1pm when I needed it at noon. (The times are a little scroll wheel and I hit the wrong time) I noticed it the next morning and immediately emailed to change the time. They said they were booked and could not accommodate. I called them and asked, he said it was a busy day and he had 4 reservations waitlisted. So I went and booked another train (that wasn't as nice) and emailed to cancel per their cancellation policy. He changed his tune and said we could have noon. A big hassle when he had the time available after all. They lose another half star because the conductor showed up in an under armor t shirt and cargo shorts. See attached photo, they specifically say that they show up as a professional train conductor and the photos on their website shows men in overalls. They even make fun of "the other guys" for showing up in t shirt and jeans, but ours showed up in less than that. If the driver is wondering why he didn't get a tip, this is why (how hard is it to throw a white shirt and overalls in the back of your truck). read more

The train was a hit for my son's first birthday! Everyone enjoyed riding the train around the neighbor hood and there was always a line to get on. I think the adults enjoyed it most! The conductor arrived early to set up and was very professional and fun to work with. He made little circles on the street and kept the ride fun! I'm 5 months late writing this review but it has been on my to do list because this company deserves the 5 star rating. I rented them for an hour for my son's 3rd bday and it was a hit. He still talks about it till now. They showed up on time and the conductor was super friendly which makes a huge difference. Everyone at the party loved it and we even saw the train around our neighborhood a week later. I rented them for an hour which was plenty of time for the amount of people we had at the party. Each cart can carry up to 4 people so all kids took a few turns. The train plays kids music so that's a nice touch. I recommend this company and will definity be a returning customer. The train was a big hit! I ordered the train for my son's 2nd birthday. It was much bigger than anticipated and all the guests loved it. It was able to drive through our large driveway and through an alley. This train has some amazing turning radius. They arrived on time and took trips throughout the two hour window. I'm not knocking off stars for this because the party was great, but the process to book isn't the most straightforward. You book online and receive a confirmation, but no one will call you to confirm or talk about logistics. I called just to make sure. Loved! We rented the Mini Express for my sons 2nd birthday. I reserved online and left a brief memo about the party being at a local park. I didn't hear from them after that and the day of the party I thought they might have forgotten... but they showed up! The train showed up about 10 minutes late but the conductor apologized and made up the time. The kids loved it and I received a lot of compliments from our family and friends. The train was very clean and well kept. It can fit a lot of kids and adults at a time. Since the party was at a park, the train took the kids along the park trail and loaded and unloaded right in front of the party shelter. Most kids were able to ride it a few times (we only rented for 1 hour) and some adults jumped in too. So much fun! Would rent again. read more

Seriously the absolute best thing we could have ever done for our son's choo choo theme birthday! The company arrived early and were all ready to go at our agreed time.
