I took a yoga class here with instructor Larissa. The studio is small, but since the class size was also small (around six students), there was still plenty of room to move comfortably. This particular class focused on yoga for back pain, so the movements were very gentle and aimed at relieving tension and tightness in the back. I really enjoyed the class and found it helpful. The only downside for me was the air conditioning. I happened to be near a vent, and every time the AC kicked on, a strong blast of very cold air hit me directly. I felt chilly for most of the class, and the cold air dried out my nose and throat--especially during breathwork exercises--causing me to cough a few times. read more

During my pregnancy, I attended prenatal yoga classes with Avalon and she is amazing! She is so knowledgeable and shared tips about labor and delivery. I loved having the support of a group of women that were going through the same experience/same symptoms. Thank you for blocking me and banning me from my online courses and the studio to finish my hours. Not like I'll miss it. Your yoga classes are same and mundane and I don't want to be taught by a recent graduate of your studio ur perhaps a student in training. I reinjured my back injury and you couldn't care less. You refused to give me a refund for being dissatisfied with your yoga training course. It's obvious you can't handle criticism. Perhaps you should adapt to the HIPPA medical law concept and not talk about your students or even your current clients in your yoga teacher courses. Shameful. If you are looking for a challenging workout, try Ashtanga. But where this yoga studio stands out is the Therapeutic Yoga ‍ and the Healing Foundations program. For anxiety, back pain, depression, PTSD, ADHD, or pain from injuries, try therapeutic yoga!! I didnt know what I needed, but i know now that I have found it. I cannot recommend this place enough! Whether you have never stepped foot in a yoga studio before or are an advanced yogi this is my favorite place. They offer a great varieties of classes and the instructors will meet you where you are at. I loved coming here so much that I decided to do my 200 hour yoga teacher training program with them. Kevala, the owner, is so passionate and knowledgeable about what she does that it truly makes you eager to learn more. I have been going to this studio for a few months now with my mom and I have loved every single class I've taken with Kevala and Larissa, particularly yoga trapeze. The instructors are incredibly welcoming and receptive to people of all levels and they take special care to make sure that modifications are made. The classes are also dynamic so even if you take the same class type, it's different week to week. The trapeze yoga classes are especially fun and low impact. I would highly recommend trying the different classes they offer at this studio. read more

It's my 5th month here and my second review and I love this place. All the yoga instructors are very caring. This is my therapy and I am able to be in a better mental state in whichever class I attend. My only regret is I wished I found this place earlier. It is a great place to be if you suffer from depression and lower back pain. You learn breathing techniques in the vinyasa and it helps with anxiety. Barre helps work out different muscles you weren't aware of. Trapeze helps stretch out my back and release tension, especially in my shoulders. I start having withdrawals if I skip a week. Classes are not too large so you are able to get needed attention/ direction. Love this place! read more

This yoga studio offers therapeutic yoga, along with general styles of yoga such as vinyasa, ashtanga, hatha, meditation and specialty yoga like yoga to alleviate depression, Y12SR (Yoga for 12-step recovery), AERIAL TRAPEZE YOGA!!!!, gentle, yin, children's yoga, prenatal yoga - you want it, they probably have it. I have attended different classes which were all wonderful. This review is about aerial/trapeze yoga which is so, so, so much fun!! I LOVE it!! Kevala teaches the aerial/trapeze yoga and she clearly explains how to get into the pose and is very helpful. To me, this is a fun and great way to get into being upside down without having to have the strength or know-how of doing say, headstand on the ground. The studio is brand new and very intimate. I had the wonderful experience of doing a sound bath here. You get to choose a mat or a hammock, honestly always choose the hammock. They provide blankets and pillows or you can bring your own. It's a small room but great for the sound bath. The staff are very nice and welcoming, the space was very nice and very clean. I will definitely be back for another sound bath and to try some of their other classes as well. U can't wait to relax all cozied up in a hammock. read more

I was excited to find a new studio so close to me so I bought an intro deal to give it a whirl. The studio itself is beautifully done, plenty of high quality props, and small class size. They also offer classes I haven't seen anywhere else including Ashtanga and Therapeutic Yoga which, honestly I fell in love with the Therapeutic. The teachers are very knowledgeable and welcoming and I have always felt safe in the space. Truly grateful to have found this yoga studio. I have been taking classes with Dawn and she is phenomenal. I am a beginner and struggling with stiffness and pain related to 9-5 desk job. She is warm, knowledgeable, graceful, and so helpful with her instructions and feedback. I feel accomplished to be getting more technical with my practice through her classes and it's diminishing the pain in my shoulders, back, and hips. She's thoughtful and provides soft focus-inspiring music and essential oils before class. She studio is lovely and provides quality yoga props like blankets, mats, bolsters, and blocks. It's a smaller space but that is favorable to me because it's more intimate and less intimidating. I like when they burn incense and have the lights down, it comforts and relaxes me quite a bit. The owner designed the studio and it's shows how much thought and care was put into it. There is also a Y12SR (Yoga and 12 Step Recovery) which is free and open to members of *all* 12 step programs. It's every Sunday at 6pm-8pm and this has been another amazing addition to my well being. The instructor Yochai is also phenomenal. He provides a welcoming space, humor, and is great at accommodating the yoga practice for everyone who comes regardless of experience and physical limitations. If you are struggling with substance use or process addictions and need a safe space, please please please attend. It's been a great way to get in touch and present with my body and participate in fellowship. read more

This was such a healing experience for me. I scheduled a private session due to anxiety surrounding my disabilities and how I might perform in a class setting. I first emailed and explained my fears and Kevala, the owner, responded quickly. We scheduled, met, and she took her time and showed immense patience during my intake. She asked me thorough questions about my health background and had me do some movements and formulated a practice specific for my needs. We will follow up in a few days and I feel great about it. More than that though she quickly dispelled all the incorrect assumptions I had about yoga that I've picked up through all the worst avenues; tv, movies, and social media. What she taught me and how she redirected my thoughts about what a yoga practice is in just a short time really lifted my spirit and made me realize how excited I am to work with my body. I am so glad that I found the Mind-Body Connection Yoga Studio. I saw a yoga trapeze in the window of the studio one day and I was able to speak with the owner, Kevala. She was welcoming and provided me additional information about the studio and their classes. They teach a variety of classes. They also offer yoga therapy, which I have not encountered before anywhere. Their website and app are detailed and so easy to use. Kevala is a wonderful instructor who is patient and ensures her students have proper form. She breaks down the movement and assists with postures. I have not done yoga for over a year. I'd like to make a recommendation for "The Mind Body Connection" in Upland, CA. I recently joined their Yoga studio and have loved meeting the teachers and other yogis there. Kevala redesigned the studio and it is so beautiful! It's a wonderful space to create your flow in. I've been trying new classes like "Therapeutic Yoga", "Yoga Trapeze", "Yoga to Alleviate Depression" & "Yoga for a Healthy Back". I went in lacking strength in certain areas, and the classes have helped me correct my posture, and elongate my body. I feel so much better after attending a class. I really like how many classes they offer each week, the times offered, and the diversity of the classes. Each one I learn something new. I really appreciate my teacher's coaching for meditation. I feel a lot happier after I can meditate for even a few minutes. I firmly believe in yoga's benefits for the body and the mind and highly recommend this particular studio!
