    Mold & rust
    Jon M.

CHECKIN & SERVICE The early/daytime staff is much more pleasant to interact with than the late/evening. Early checkin is possible for an additional fee but not guaranteed to be available. Uncovered self service parking is offered for free. Housekeeping performed by request. Late checkout offered (1hr). Checkin on Yelp for a free water! ROOMS (Suite) Contemporary design with high quality furnishings-- not your typical hotel stock! Incredibly comfortable couches, great workspace + ergonomic chair, functional windows, hardwood floors, a fireplace, and a flood of natural light. Very spacious for 2 with a homey feel. Great cleaning standards. (guestroom) not as glamorous of course & is cramped for 2, but cleaning standards are good in the common area (warning: not so much in the bathroom). BED Firm king mattress sleeps great in both configurations offered. The bedding was consistently clean, soft, and cozy. BATH (Suite) Beautiful stone covering the entire bathroom, electronic vanity mirror, ceiling rainfall shower, & strong water pressure! Well maintained & thoroughly cleaned. 3-piece showering set provided. (Guest room) Cleaning standards were VERY inconsistent, misleading, & generally under par compared to our experience in the suite. Lots of rust & mold in the bathroom, with clean towels making direct contact with black mold. Do a thorough check of your shower before settling in! TV & ENTERTAINMENT Good entertainment accoutrements. 1-2 large flat screen LG TV s with satellite on fixed wall mounts. WI-Fi The WiFi offering is generally really strong, but the experience isn't consistent in the guest rooms (weak coverage, frequent disconnects, etc). The corner rooms were also a (Verizon) dead zone. Nerd Stats: 111-123 Mbps download 45-84 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 25 ms latency 22 ms latency Performance: Video streaming - GREAT Online gaming - GREAT Video chatting - good FOOD & DRINK Not DoorDash friendly after the apps recent update (forced to walk to lobby for food pickups). Breakfast is offered & rooms are equipped with microwave & small mini fridges. NOISE Through traffic & noise from the neighborhood(s) from the hotel can be quite loud. Walls aren't thin enough to make out full conversations, but noisy neighbors can be a problem. VERDICT I wanted to rant & rave about this location after my first stay but a second one proved lots of duality here & a really inconsistent experience (I was hoping this would become my go-to hotel for flights out of SFO). The suites are great but the guest rooms are painful for reasons other than size. Customer service, cleaning standards, & WiFi infrastructure have large room for improvement. I won't be returning but it's not a pad stay if the inconsistencies don't bother you 2-3.5/5 Suite walkthrough: https://youtube.com/shorts/V3bsc4m1n08?feature=shared

There's Mold!!, Mildew smell in the bathroom water tank in 2 rooms that I went with family. The Stench of the MOLD was SO GROSS!!! Who can sleep with that smell? Don't waste your money! Stay at the Westin instead, it does not smell like MOLD and Sewer!

This Residence Inn saved me from no water and a complaining wife if I had stayed at the other hotel. I dropped in to check to see if they had vacancies. They assured me that rooms would be available. I immediately got onto to Concur, my employer's travel website and made the reservation. I was able to check in early the next morning after speaking to them, and due to my elite status. Check in was easy since they remembered my face. They gave us a studio king. The room had a full kitchen with refrigerator, stove, coffemaker and microwave. The King bed was nice and comfortable. The bathroom had the usual Marriott bottle products. The room was good for a one night's stay. Their gym, once I found it, was adequate with treadmills, ellipticals, dumb bells, kettlebells, and Pilates balls. It was good enough to give me a good workout. Their parking lot is big. They do charge for parking. My only complaint, if I had one is that the staff does not know how to use virtual credit card payments. I had to use my own credit card instead of charging my virtual card. Other than that, it was a good stay. I wouldn't mind staying again if the other hotel I usually stay at wasn't available.

That was exactly why my husband and I chose to stay at the Grand Hyatt at SFO before our flight to Asia. Even though San Francisco has countless beautiful hotels throughout the city, we had absolutely zero desire to leave the airport area, deal with Bay Area traffic, haul international luggage around town, and then fight our way back into SFO the next morning. No thank you. The Grand Hyatt's biggest selling point is honestly its direct connection to the airport via the AirTrain system. For travelers unfamiliar with SFO, the hotel is actually located right on airport property and connected by the elevated AirTrain, making it remarkably convenient for international departures. Once you arrive at the airport, you can simply take the AirTrain directly toward the hotel without ever needing a shuttle, rental car, or rideshare. And when you are dragging multiple suitcases while mentally preparing for a trans-Pacific flight, that convenience suddenly feels very glamorous. Now admittedly, after getting off the AirTrain, navigating toward the actual hotel lobby with luggage was slightly more confusing than I expected at first. My husband and I definitely had one of those "I hope we are walking the correct direction" moments while hauling luggage through the corridors. But thankfully we eventually figured it out without becoming permanent residents of the terminal. The check-in process itself was smooth and easy, and the staff throughout the stay were excellent -- professional, welcoming, and efficient. The room was comfortable, modern, and very well maintained. Slightly smaller than I had anticipated, perhaps, but still a very pleasant room overall and perfectly suited for an overnight pre-flight stay. One unexpectedly wonderful part of this hotel is the plane spotting. Aviation enthusiasts probably already know this, but many rooms and public areas offer fantastic views of the runways and departing aircraft. Watching the constant rhythm of planes taxiing and lifting off while the sun sets over the Bay creates a strangely calming atmosphere for fellow travelers preparing for their own journeys. And surprisingly, despite being right at the airport, the soundproofing was excellent. We could barely hear the aircraft noise at all inside the room, which honestly impressed me quite a bit. The hotel also has a very nice restaurant inside the property, which made things easy since neither my husband nor I felt particularly motivated to wander around the airport after a long travel day. Then the next morning came the part that made the entire stay worth it: We simply grabbed our luggage, boarded the AirTrain again, and easily made our way directly to the international terminal for our departure to Asia. No stress. No traffic. No airport panic. Honestly, for international travelers flying through SFO, this place makes an enormous amount of sense.

The Grand classy - anything and everything about this hotel spell class !! From the moment you step into the lobby, to rooms, amenities, gym, restaurants. The staff here are on a "business friendly" attitude. We didn't try the hotel lobby bar for its a little pack with business men/women. But, we ate at the restaurant. The gym is quite large organized and clean. The food is quite good and tasty but a little expensive ( for my taste) nice if you're on expense report. The hotel was quiet, although, during the very early mornings, you can hear airplane engine roaring inside your room. Not the hotels fault, it's the surrounding areas. Will stay here again if I have an early morning flight.

We checked-in around 4pm which went quick as they were not very busy at that time, but I never really saw much of a line at the counter due to the efficiency of the employees at the counter. Check-In: - Check-in was prompt and easy. I am Marriott Platinum, so I was offered a slight upgrade to the basic 2 double beds room that I booked. I was offered a waterfront view room near a corner (per my request). Knowing that this hotel would be full of frequent flyers (with higher status than I) and flight crews, so I was not expecting a suite upgrade or a corner room (what I usually ask for as it is usually more quiet). Parking: - Self-parking USD $12 for first hour, USD $24 for 1-3 hours, USD $36 for 3-6 hours and USD $48 for 6+ hours and overnight. - The lot can be busy in the late afternoon/early evening from people walking the waterfront at sunset. Shuttle Service to/from SFO Airport: - Sign at the counter says every 30 minutes. Not sure about the hours they run. Room: -The room was on the 6th floor with views of the waterfront and SFO airport. It was nice to watch the airplanes land and take off. The 2 double beds room was clean. The air conditioner was set to 60 degrees all day/night, but the room was not cold, just comfortable enough most of the time. The fins on the metal fins on the AC register was rattling quite a bit when we first walked in the room, but I was able to stop the rattling by adjusting the fins (which were loose). Fitness Center: 2 room fitness center was clean and had a good amount of cardio equipment, weight machines, free weights, Smith machine, balls, kettle bells, etc. They provide towels and cleaning wipes. The also had packages of free headphones to plug into the cardio equipment to watch in the built-in screens. Many of the cardio equipment also had wireless charging pads built-in which is a nice feature. Pool: I do not believe they have a pool. Lobby/Lounge/Bar Area: - Very open and inviting. I believe the Fights 101 bar/restaurant is also here, but I'd did not order anything drinks or food on this visit. - There is a Starbucks onsite M Club Lounge: - Breakfast: Daily 6:30am-10:00am - Evening Service: Monday-Thursday - Appetizers: 5:30pm-7:00pm - Dessert: 7:00pm-9:00pm - Snacks and beverages available until 10pm Monday -Thursday - Lounge closes after breakfast service Friday-Saturday - The lounge is has a decent amount of seating. They offer teas and coffees/hot chocolate (machine). They also have milk and soy milk. They don't have much in terms of snacks that I saw, just yogurt and bananas. I did not see that they offered any soda during breakfast service, but maybe they offer it for the evening service. Other Marriotts have much more snacks to choose from. The breakfast setup was a little awkward as you get most of the food outside the lounge and then bring it into the lounge where you can get your drinks and seating. They do have a selection of yogurts and cereal to choose from inside the lounge. Overall, for a 1 night stay, it was good experience. The kids and I were buoyed the fitness center and the breakfast at the M Club Lounge. Marriott is usually a 4/5 star hotel, but I would rate this one only 3.5/5 stars due to lack of swimming pool and limited M Club operating hours. If I was to stay longer than a couple nights, I may choose to spend a little more money or points and stay at The Westin down the road. Also, I was charged $219.48 on my credit card for the night as soon as I checked in, but my folio at checkout says total $194.42 (which is what I booked the room for). Will have to call and have that looked into.

You can definitely hear the planes taking off but I don't find this to be a deterrent, it's to be expected if you have a hotel close to the airport. Unfortunately the heater didn't work in my room and I have a tendency to get sick if I'm in a room that's too cold at night - maintenance came in record timing a guy named Ysidro, not sure about the spelling, but I've never had a hotel send someone so fast to help me! Even though he wasn't able to fix it at that moment, he was able to move me to a different room - even made sure it was facing away from the airport, and made sure the heater was working before giving me the key. He went above and beyond to make sure that I had a quick and positive experience. Nothing is perfect - you can put earplugs in or ask to be in a room facing away from the airport if it's that big of an issue - but the people that work somewhere are definitely what can make or break a stay and this worker definitely made my day and stay better. The shuttle worked great for me (My review is in 2026.) The setting is attractive. They allow well-behaved dogs and have a spot for dogs outside. We stayed there for three days for a school reunion. There were about twelve of us and the whole situation worked very well, including having breakfast together in the mornings. We had a lounge to go to at night, we could bring in food and had lots of support from staff. All the front desk staff were very helpful and supportive. The pool is heated and the rooms are spacious and nice with microwaves in each room. We were within walking distance of a Greek/Italian restaurant, Japanese food and Chinese food. Just a few blocks away was a pharmacy. It's a great location!

Good luck trying to catch these shuttles to the airport especially when they're very 45mins! Sometimes they don't even depart on time either! La Quinta is their first stop and they're still late. More often than not this particular driver WILL stop at a different shuttle stop claiming there's no space for him to park where the "hotel shuttle pick up" is and SKIP all the pickups and you'll be stuck for another 45mins! They recently started upping their prices and there are way better hotels around for the same price and better shuttle services. I'll only recommend this hotel to my enemies!
