A/C was acting up one of my stays. Continental breakfast of cheese in hot egg. Lots of teas and oatmeal so you can make. Apple and orange juices. Four mini waffles were optional for you to make. Cereal and pastries to go. Apples. Variety of yogurt. Slices of bread to toast. Same menu each of my 3 mornings from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on second floor. I love the pure toiletries. Used hair dryer and ironing board. Tub mat available in shower. They serve room ever other day. I was fine with just a few more toiletries so no added service. Within walking distance to a few great places. Felt like a ghost town. Most businesses were closed permanently or closed on Monday. I ate at Dumpling Era within two blocks. Staff were excellent while there. They have to schedule a day in advance for the airport shuttle which arrives eight minutes after the hour outside of lunch hours. Tonight I came off a full day of work on the road and a 7+ hour long flight back into SFO and I arrived after midnight and the drive to my home in Sonoma county is typically 2.5-3 hrs on windy roads with no lights and lots of sharp turns. I opted to book a room a month ago for the night and days leading up to it they kept texting me to convince me to upgrade my room and pay more - which I ignored. Well arriving past midnight on a Friday night meant NO PARKING SPOTS available at a hotel that advertises and promotes their free and accessible parking as a feature and selling point. They even have long term parking that they sell and that lot is always open w free spots !? So I pull in after not being able to find any parking in their small parking lot and no street parking around their hotel and when I ask where I can park I'm told "customers happily park on the street" even through the signs clearly say 4 hrs parking maximum and they can ticket and tow. After attempts to reason with an unreasonable and incredibly unhelpful desk clerk to get access for the night a spot in their open long term lot - and being repeatedly and illogically turned down repeatedly by the night clerk who simply was reading a pathetic script that always resulted in NO HELPFUL or LOGICAL RESOLUTION to no place to legally put my car for the night - I ask what my options are and there are none. No place to park my car and when I asked about cancelling my reservation I'm told they have a 24 hr cancellation policy and having no legal place to park my car isn't their problem. Interesting. They have already charged my credit card for $175 and I'm told that I'm basically shit out of luck. I'm even told I will be removed if I raise my voice and continue to point out that I'm actually being given NO VIABLE, SAFE and LEGALLY defendable options. So I call my credit card company while sitting there and contest the charges and have no choice but to drive off at 12:30 AM looking at a 3+ hour dangerous drive sleep deprived and in the pitch black of night to my home in Sonoma county. Thanks Dylan Hotel ! Appreciate the swell customer service ! Would I recommend staying at this shitty motor lodge near the airport moving forward. NOT A CHANCE and their management should be ashamed of themselves. Never again. She was friendly, but overall appearance was not professional. When I went to their room, I couldn't believe the coverlet that was on the bed. It was falling apart, the wallpaper had scratches and marks all over it and the baseboard was all scratched up. I understand that this hotel cannot do a full renovation, which they need but how hard is it to get some new coverlets for the bed to make it look nicer, touchup paint and maybe some new wallpaper? My parents paid over $200 a night and I know this hotel is getting a lot of business. The other thing they mentioned is that the breakfast never changes. Every single day it's the same thing after two days they couldn't eat there anymore. That's another thing. I don't understand why they can't change it up a little bit every day. It doesn't have to be fancy but just a little variety. I know my parents will stay here again because they are comfortable there, but I don't understand why businesses let their appearance go like this. I would not recommend this place to other people and I work for the airlines. The bottom line is this place is decent but it could be so much better.

It's a small hotel, not much of a lobby to speak of, there's the check in desk and a simple dining area. Breakfast is ok with standard fare: some pancakes, omelette for hot food, a variety of bread, cereal and fruit. They do offer tea, coffee and juices around the clock, a much appreciated gesture. The hotel is a short drive from the airport, and there is a good selection of restaurants within a few miles. They have a private parking lot for guests, but it's not very big, so if you stay out late you may have to find parking on the streets.

This was quite a luxurious hotel, in a prime spot and a must-stay for avgeeks (aviation geeks). While not the most luxurious hotel I've stayed at, it proves it doesn't have to be. While providing fine dining (at the Quail & Crane Restaurant, more on that below) or fast and convenient to-go items that can be enjoyed in your room or on-the-go (more than likely when here, you're heading to a flight, see: Twin Peaks café, below), the Grand Hyatt at SFO offers unparalleled service for an airport hotel and deserves its 5-star rating. The fitness center by itself is huge and offers yoga mats, stretch balls, peloton fitness bikes, treadmills, standard recumbent bikes, free weights, circuit training and more, plus complimentary water and towels. What is more, is that they truly metaphorically bend over backwards to serve you which no hotel is obligated to do. If you order Uber Eats or Doordash, for example, they'll drop your food at their first floor valet lobby; it's no problem at all. I spent hours in my suite watching aircraft land, taxi, park at the gate, taxi to the runway then take off. NOTE: Request an apron-view room or suite, otherwise you get an interior room /suite. My suite had panoramic views of the International terminal and half of the "A" gates (the international terminal consists of one gigantic hall and two piers, "A" and "G" gates - Star Alliance aircraft depart out of the "G" gates, while everyone else uses the "A" gates and pier. Domestic terminals 1, 2, and 3 are strictly for gates "B" "C" "D" "E" and "F"). I had to get a pad of paper and a pen to keep track of every aircraft I saw. Would I stay here again? Absolutely! 4.0/5.0 is my final rating, only because 5.0 is the proverbial unicorn; no hotel gets 5.0/5.0, it is unfair to other establishments and there is always something any given hotel can do better, even if it is so unnoticeable to guests, it is behind the scenes. The remote blinds barely worked with the controller and the "fake view" on the roller shade was kind of comical. Unfortunately, the closet furniture required brute force to slide open or close the door. We took advantage of the free breakfast both days, and the menu was exactly the same each day. The eggs were pretty good, and the sausage was not bad either. It would have been nice if they had a bit more fruit selection; they just had bananas. Our flight home was delayed going back, so I asked for a later checkout (even just an hour), but they said no. I thought that was one of the "perks" of my Bonvoy status, but I guess not. Since it was a Sunday, I thought they could have let us stay one more hour. They did hold our luggage for us and seemed very surprised when I tipped the clerk at pickup. At 10:59 am precisely, "Housekeeping" was knocking on our door, seeing when we were going to leave. Close by the "Shore Shack" is a friendly little diner with decent food. Oh, and one important note --- T-Mobile has virtually NO signal inside this hotel. Your phone will be on SOS the whole time. Luckily, their Internet wifi worked pretty well, but I hate using unsecured networks. We'll be back for this event in the future, but given the cost, I'm going to look into other hotel options in the area as well.
