For my needs of an airport shuttle, on the weekend El Camino Real bus line to BART, and near where I needed to go, I definitely recommend this family-owned business! Modern! Room was mostly clean. Stationary TV had many channels. My double bed was comfortable. Had a concern about parking in the basement as steep downward incline. Limited parking lots. A/C was acting up one of my stays. Continental breakfast of cheese in hot egg. Lots of teas and oatmeal so you can make. Apple and orange juices. Four mini waffles were optional for you to make. Cereal and pastries to go. Apples. Variety of yogurt. Slices of bread to toast. Same menu each of my 3 mornings from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on second floor. I love the pure toiletries. Used hair dryer and ironing board. Tub mat available in shower. They serve room ever other day. I was fine with just a few more toiletries so no added service. Within walking distance to a few great places. Felt like a ghost town. Most businesses were closed permanently or closed on Monday. I ate at Dumpling Era within two blocks. Staff were excellent while there. They have to schedule a day in advance for the airport shuttle which arrives eight minutes after the hour outside of lunch hours. Hotel held my luggage until my departure for the airport. read more

Good place to stay if you have an overnight layover at SFO. Check in was super easy. The folks working the front desk were pleasant and professional. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. Everything at the hotel seemed to be clean and in good working order. Nice complementary breakfast in the morning as well before you catch the free shuttle back to the airport. Desk clerk was very helpful and friendly. We had a choice between two queens or one king. The clerk said we could stay the first night in either one and then change if we wished. The breakfast was absolutely outstanding. Although advertised as a continental breakfast, where I expected nothing more than croissants, Danish and coffee, just had a complete breakfast. You had a choice of eggs, waffles, cereal, yoghurt, toast, juices, bagels and hot oatmeal. The rooms were clean, had a luggage rack (seemingly rare these days), and the thermostat that allow you to blow cold or hot air. Despite having a room that faced the street, it was quiet. The PARKING was free. There's also a shuttle to the airport. The hotel is relatively inexpensive. The rooms also have both a microwave and refrigerator. The only reason for not giving it a five star review was that there's no pool, hot tub or workout room, or USB ports. read more

This was a pretty good hotel. We were here for only 5 hours as we had an early morning flight. The good: dramatically huge rooms, nice hot, steaming showers, heavenly scented toiletries and a quick and efficient front desk staff. The shuttle driver was quick and friendly on the morning of our flight and he did a good job of loading and unloading the luggage in the order people needed their items. The bad: We arrived in time for the last airport to hotel shuttle stop of the night. After waiting for almost 30 minutes, we called the hotel and they told us that the driver had stopped but didn't see anyone. We were there early... We had to Book a very expensive Uber. There was a light in the room that flickered for no reason. We never touched it and it just flickered and made a strange sound. It was very weird. Upon entry to the hotel, you have to lug your suitcases up a few steep steps and there isn't much room to maneuver. The rooms are nice and quiet, but the area in front of the hotel is a major street and we did hear quiet a few sirens throughout the night. The breakfast leaves A LOT to be desired. There were offerings that you could find in an airport vending machine, not many choices to grab and go and very drab looking. I understand that the hotel is run by a family and it's hard to always have what guests want, but if there were more filling options, this review would be a solid 4. read more

Hotel Aura is nice, clean hotel convenient to the San Francisco Airport. Front Desk was pleasant and professional. It is less than 10 minutes away-we only needed an overnight for our flight. Single mom here. I was on my way to my grandmother's funeral from Los Angeles and as soon as I started driving my car was having issues. There's no way I would've driven my car 6+ hours. I decided to drive my car to save money since the cost of airfare, train, etc. is twice the amount including my kid. I cancelled the reservation since I can't make it and asked if there's any way the cancellation fee can be waived. The woman on the phone had zero compassion for the situation and kept reiterating they have to charge me for one night because "it's our policy". So not only can I not make it to the funeral, I'm out $144 for something I cannot use. read more

Their price is lower than the average in the area. Just needed a place to stay for the night close to SFO airport as we are waiting for an arrival of a family member. We were surprised that the rooms are bigger and the bathroom has a good space too. The front desk lady is a fellow filipino and shes very nice. My 2nd time here. I work in the area every year and plan on staying there next year as well. The people working at the front desk are as helpful as anyone can be. Walked to some local restaurants, this place is close to the airport. The only downside, that might mean something to a few people, is that their airport shuttle doesn't run for 3 hours in the middle of the day, like from noon to 3pm, so you'll need an Uber, Cab, or whatever to get you to the hotel. I took the shuttle in the morning back to the airport with no issues. Nice clean rooms. They have a breakfast as well, it's a good place to stay. read more

To begin, we get the hotel and the toilet is clogged by poor pipes and also by us Anyway, we call down for a plumber and then go to dinner for 2 hours We come back, there is nothing that had been done. One of us go down there and state that the toilet is clogged While this, another person calls down the lobby and the plumber had already left and the person (male) was being quite rude We are told to go get the plunger and plung it ourselves, causing us towels being used to not get the feces and toilet water on the floor The woman at the front questioned if they should bring up the extra towels Overall the reason I didn't give this place a one-star was that there is complementary breakfast, which I always believe is nice. Clean Friendly front desk, even at our 0130 arrival. Grounds clean. Free breakfast leaves you wanting more. Cereal, toast and danishes is all. Not very many health choices. But it's free ‍ Beds soft and COMFY!!!! Sink and toilet & shower are separate which is nice, except.for the person trying to watch TV while you're brushing your teeth & washing your face. First off the picture of the hotel shown on the website barely looks like the actual building. You have to be on the lookout for something that looks like an apartment building to find this place. The vending machines only work on the third floor. The shuttle to the airport stops at 9:30 AM and doesn't start back up again until 5:30 PM. So you have to Uber or take a taxi if your flight is between 12 PM and 6:30 PM. So I'll start with the room. My room opened up into the dining area. The dining area was literally 6 feet away from my front door and as soon as people arrived I heard them outside my door. My windows have a view of the apartment complex parking lot next door that is only 25 feet away from the window. You can barely see through the dirty window and screen. Needless to say there is no view. The bathroom wasn't properly cleaned there was actually blood and hair on the toilet. Yikes! It also appears that they re-stuff the tissue boxes, yikes again. As for the continental breakfast, it's coffee and mini muffins. At 7:45 AM there was literally six mini muffins left. Two different sets of guests came down to the breakfast area, took a look at the "continental breakfast", and both said "wow". If you have Verizon wireless, there's barely a signal. In fact some of the channels on the TV say that the signal is too weak to watch that channel. This place is a complete bait and switch. I don't know how their reviews are so high, I just assume they hire people to write phony reviews. The reason I chose this hotel was because of its proximity to the airport and the reviews. Extremely disappointed. In my entire life I've written one bad review about a hotel. I usually don't write these. But this place was such a bait and switch, such a disappointment that I just wanted to warn other people. There are plenty of reputable hotels around here within a couple of miles of the airport that are much better than this place. read more

Great place for the price if you just need to stay the night to catch a flight at SFO. Breakfast is included: waffles, various types of bread, yogurt, boiled eggs, coffee, and a few juices. There is a free shuttle to and from the airport as well. Rooms were clean. Shower pressure pretty good, as well. There's also a Walgreens within walking distance for last minute items. I have never stayed here, and after my interactions today, I will never book anyone here, and I would never stay here. The front desk representative Mike M was so unbelievably rude, and unhelpful. As someone who is answering the phones for the hotel, you think the interaction would be positive, but from beginning to end, it was uncomfortable, and to say the least off putting. At just over $100 a night, Hotel Aura was a great value for the area. I was happy with my stay and I'd stay here again if I was staying in the area again. The location had good proximity to San Francisco and the hotel was clean and quiet. They had free parking under the hotel that is gated at night. The free breakfast is pretty basic with a variety of packaged pastries. There was no warm food but it was nice to be able to grab something quickly before heading out for the day. The bad wifi was annoying but luckily wasn't needed during this trip. If I had to work on my computer at all during the trip, the wifi would have been a deal breaker. read more

I was greeted by Andre at the front desk and was very nice, he even advised me what restaurants are good around here. Some of the reviews said that the traffic is noisy, if you closed the window, you could barely hear it. It was a nice quiet stay! Disliked · I really enjoyed my stay. The only thing I didn't like has NOTHING to do with the hotel. It's about food deliveries. When you enter the hotel's address, the default address shows the city as South San Francisco but it's really San Bruno, I had to contact Grub Hub customer service after every order to reach out to the driver that I am in San Bruno. Spoke with Andre at the front desk and he said that happens a lot because SSF also has an address of 190 El Camino Real. Just be careful when you provide the delivery address, or your food may be cold when it arrives. Location · San Bruno was interesting, a lot of restaurant choices, close to freeway and SFO. My room was directly above the El Camino, there is a liquor store across the street and kitty corner to me is Celia's restaurant and bar. I am used to traffic noises, so I don't mind having the window open and hearing the noise from the streets. I can see all types of people walking around. I felt like The Batman watching over the streets, so I played "Something in the Way" by Nirvana and did a monologue while staring out the window. LOL read more

The current 3.5 star rating for this hotel seems about right to me. Overall it was OK but felt a notch below some similar properties in the airport area. We paid $149 via Expedia for a Friday night. Nice things about the hotel: Room has many of the features you might expect in a business class hotel. Pleasant surprises included newer large-screen TV, in room fridge and micro-wave, Keurig coffee maker w. Kirkland coffee, nicely appointed bathroom with granite counter and tub-surround. The bed was OK but pillows and sheets were nice. Indoor parking was free; some SFO area hotels surprise you with parking fees. Negatives: Many things seemed a bit worn and/or in need of minor maintenance or a refresh. Water pressure in the hotel is very bad; don't know if that's a problem for the whole area or is specific to this hotel. The neighborhood itself is not attractive; not a place I would want to walk around. The desk clerk in the evening was not at all friendly; he barely said a word to us. In the morning, the desk clerk asked us if we were checking out as we loaded car. My wife went back to check out but the woman had disappeared and remained missing until wife gave up waiting for her. read more

It's a step above a motel six. There was mold on the ceiling and the room smelled funny. There were no curtains on the windows so light came in. Our toilet stopped flushing too. Their free breakfast was prepackaged muffins, toast, yogurt, and waffles- the toast and waffles you make yourself. They did have apples and cereal available as well. The room is large and they provided all the amenities that you need, coffee maker, small refrigerator etc. They also have continental breakfast and shuttle to and from the airport, do call to confirm the times. The location is convenient and walking distance to some restaurants. Overnight pitstop on our way North. CHECK-IN: Veey polite and professional young man. Hotel lobby had plenty of luggage carts, which we greatly appreciated. Handicap parking directly next to lobby door. Checked in in under 7 minutes!! ROOM: Really cute and compact hotel. Room was much more spacious than appeared upon entry. Rented the 2 Queen /sleeper room and beds were also comfortable. Slept great! CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST: Left too early to appreciate it but the waffles smelled yummy! Carpet near the window was damp throughout our stay, yikes! They were renovating at the time so corridors on second floor were covered with some sorta plastic wrap on top but water seeping into the room was way too much intrusion if you ask me. Breakfast selection, like others have already mentioned, is very limited and one morning the contents of one of our in-room garbage bins weren't emptied (gasp!). However you do get a Keurig machine and close proximity to Trader Joe's and (mainly Chinese) restaurants is another plus that cannot be ignored. read more
