It wasn't mushy. It was well drained and crispy. Everything was cooked to perfection without being overcooked. Restaurant restaurant was clean. Service was courteous and attentive. The beer was cold and refreshing. The martini my wife ordered was perfect... Just yum! Left for the doggy bag, and a memory of a beautiful meal with my family. I was visiting Longview this past weekend and this gem was close by our hotel. Everything down to the end was top tier. We came in around 730pm on a Saturday night no wait we were sat down immediately. The vibe inside was nice not packed at all a table was clean and ready for us to dine. The waitress was friendly and she let us know the recommended appetizers and dishes since it was our first time there. We ordered a seafood boil along with boudin egg rolls everything came out FAST. Food was nice and hot came with butter for dipping and we got lemons and dry seasonings as well. Dessert was fried Oreos with a side of ice cream. Perfect end for dinner. All in all 3 ppl for a seafood boil, appetizer, dessert we paid about $70 which isn't bad at all! First time visitors. Not sure we will return. Service was as expected on a holiday weekend. Food though is very average. I have never seen 2-3 inch calamari rings, and calamari you could bite in half. Shrimp in the shrimp po boy was chewy. Food was bland. Catfish has a heavy breading that was one degree off of being burnt. The ice tea was so watered down I still don't know if it was tea. We decided to visit the Mighty Crab today on a recommendation from a family member. We decided to go midday, knowing that there would be no crowds and better service. We were greeted promptly and taken to a booth. The hostess was pleasant. When we arrived at the booth, the hostess spoke to our server Flo, who was at the next booth. Flo told the server that she didn't want to serve us and that someone else should do it. This was in clear conversation in front of us. She agreed begrudgingly, and asked what drinks we wanted as we were sitting. We gave our drink order and she asked what appetizer we wanted, we hadn't even had time to look at the menus. We were not asked if we had ever been in before. We said no to the appetizers as she was clearly trying to rush us. She returned about two minutes later with the drinks and asked what we wanted to order, again rushing us. We chose to just pay for the drinks and leave at that time. I gave my card and she left to speak to a Manager for some reason. When she came back, she asked why we were leaving. Without waiting for a response, she said "is it because it's expensive?". This was absolutely insulting. The manager started to walk over and she asked again "is it because it's expensive?". Her insinuations were very rude and my wife had enough. She said a few choice words in response and we left. During the entire encounter the manager never said one word. Avoid this eatery at all costs. Being rushed and then insulted, when you just wanted a relaxing meal is beyond poor customer service. If you don't want to serve others, for whatever reason, find a different career path. Everyone was super friendly and the service was good. The draft beer was ice cold and drinks were very cheap. The food though. $11 a pound for crawfish!? $20 a pound for shrimp?? Yikes!!! We didn't stay to see how it was because there are plenty of places to eat crawfish with good reviews and almost 1/2 the price! We did have Calamari appetizer and it was very good. Service was sub par. We saw our waiter maybe twice during our dinner. Plastic forks and knifes. No saltine crackers for the raw oysters. No tabasco sauce in a bottle. Tabasco in a plastic container that were impossible to get open. Crawfish was almost impossible to peel. The seasoning on the crawfish was margarine and greasy, definitely not real butter. Now I work in Longview and decided I wanted to go to the mighty crab there, boy was I mistaken. I did not enjoy my servers attitude, she was also sweeping the floor in the direction of my food!!
