My review is basically what Amanda T wrote with some extras. 2017, a kid was literally dealing cocaine on campus (despite having two physicians as parents). Also may I add this kid was caught several times dealing marijuana prior on campus. His punishment was a slap on the wrist and he still was allowed to walk at graduation. The same kid, a year prior, also visited a brothel along with three other classmates on a Immersion Trip in China. (Which he also got caught for) The kid who was accused of plagiarism was put through all the works of punishment and eventually was asked to leave the school. As long as Deborah Spiegel has a position in the Miami Valley School, there will be no justice because all they care about is how much money is brought into the school. They waste the money too on nonsensical BS. For example, one of their teachers,Patty Delotile campaigned for a Goat farm on campus and almost got it. You could get a just the same education and gain actual real life people skills if you attended any other school in the area because this school doesn't teach you street smarts. It teaches you, if you have money you can get away with anything. Miami Valley also doesn't have 100% of their kids attend college, that statistic is just marketing because I can name several students out of the classes of 15,16,17,18,19 who did not. As a current Sophomore at The Miami Valley School, I feel happy and hopeful of how prepared I am for future years of continued education, and feel especially ready for college. Boasting now a full time college counselor, I feel confident that wherever in the nation, or out, I aspire to be a student at in the future, I will be welcomed with open arms. As for MVS, I love the community, classes, and overall school. But as the most outstanding part of the school, I have to cite the community. The parent involvement, friend groups, clubs, and classes are all so welcoming and supportive. I think our school's slogan, "Students don't just come to The Miami Valley School. Here, they become," really sums it up quite well. MVS offers a program that supports the holistic child, truly. And the Immersion program! Although prospective families may be hesitant taking all of this from a 15 year old, I urge you to take the chance and just try it out. MVS won't disappoint! Thank you! read more
