They are ok, but in my experience advisors and professors are not understanding when it comes to adults who are working while taking classes. You would think they have experience with it being a community, but I've even had an advisor DISCOURAGE me from taking classes, while the other attempts to over load me with me classes. I've taken one class a semester multiple times at my own pace because I work very long hours. If you only go to them to make a plan for the classes you need and don't talk to them after that you'll be fine. Talking to fellow working adults and part time students, of course. read more

Had a very bad time working with Sinclair from the staff to the other students. Other students/administrators will prosecute people of different beliefs or ideas. Teachers are horribly untrained. I entered for real estate exited very quickly wife is in the nursing program and it's been one hoop after another. I called Admissions the day before going to Sinclair to enroll. Once I enrolled, I went to pay to hold my classes. I was told on the phone the day before from a person with Admissions, that I could pay cash, since that was the only form of payments that I had. I didn't have any money in my bank account. When I went to the "Cashiers" window to put down a payment. I was told that they don't take cash, and that I was a liar about having no money in my bank account and the lady behind the glass window, told me to "show her my accounts", after wanting to give my $200 cash to hold my classes. The lady called me a LIAR, I replied with one curse work, "I'm not showing you blank blank. The next thing I know is there are three woman in front of me and two police officers behind me. I felt threatened, intimidated, bullied and harassed. After a couple of weeks from not hearing from The Administration, WHO PROTECTS THE STUDENTS? Really good variety and good tasting event foods! I attended a Luncheon. It was presented buffet style; there were enough vegetables that a vegetarian would feel satiated. Salads, grilled & sauced proteins, cold cuts and great soup were presented in an easily assessable manner. Items were plentiful and replaced quickly. Some of the worst nursing teachers, higher staff such as the chairmen, and everyone in between. Some are great (very few), most, are absolutely horrible. They are lazy, unhelpful, and constantly blame students and never look at their own staff that do not do their job. I would absolutely find another college to pursue nursing as you will regret coming here. Covid has seemed to encourage uncaring, lazy, and downright unethical teaching behaviors. Not sure what happened to this Amazing college. It was excellent back in the 90's when I attended Sinclair's Nursing program. My son enrolled couple of years ago. I told him how wonderful it was. Just when you got your schedule all figured out they contact you the week before registration ends to cancel one of your classes due to low enrollment. There's a lot of planning involved when arranging your schedule. Not every student is available Monday through Friday. It is a community college and a lot of people either commute from further away or work couple of days a week. Trying to fit your classes in 2 or 3 days a week is impossible there due to the cancellation of classes just when you think you have it all planned out. Maybe eliminate some of the classe options if your enrollment is down so when planning your class schedules you can be certain it will not be cancelled. Needless to say he dropped out due to the scheduling conflicts. FYI... I realize on line classes have become more popular but unfortunately my son needs in class learning for his harder classes read more

Maybe not your traditional 'college experience' but still a very cool place to go. I am at my second quarter there and ALL of the students and staff I have me have been helpful and genuinely friendly people. Being only a 2 year college, you really have to get to know people right away. Fortunately I have found it pretty easy to make friends in prety much all of the classes I've taken. There is no on campus living - most students come in from home every day. The food is so-so, but there are restaurants within walking distance. One plus is that the main cafeteria started taking credit cards instead of just cash / Sinclair id's (you can put money on the Sinclair id cards). The classes are all fairly small - all my teachers know my name. Its a lot like high school in that respect. Being only in my second quarter, I have yet to take any classes that are not required, but i believe the elective classes are as small or smaller then the ones I'm in right now. Oh, and the best part: it's CHEEP! My tuition cost me about $5-600 plus maybe $200 for books. all of it was covered by my scholarship and I even received a check for some of the leftover. So all in all, Sinclair is a good place to get a head start on college, Though I would definitely recommend (and plan to myself) continuing at a larger college after completion of the associates at Sinclair. The center is very professional in appearance and the parking has to be the most convenient of any conference that I've ever been to. Usually at conferences you have to park out in the back forty somewhere and hoof a mile before you get inside. Not so here! The parking was close, easy and secure. This is a real rarity especially this Sinclair is right downtown. Food was excellent and provided by the Community College culinary arts program. A/V systems were flawless. I enjoyed that there were plenty of small rooms for breakout sessions. In a lot of conference facilities the smaller rooms are an after thought. Here they were intimate with risers, really nice desks and professional office seating. read more

So my review is not a normal one because I was never a student at Sinclair. However I was accidentally enrolled and I just want to comment on the awesome staff I encountered over the phone there. Honestly I was between a 3-5 so I gave them right in the middle, 4. On one end of my experience it took a year to get the issue resolved, I got tossed around from staff to staff and it was fairly frustrating. On the other end, it was taken care of, and regardless of how many staff I worked with they were are extremely pleasant and kind. COVID-19 hit in the beginning of the process which did not helped and I'm sure caused alot of the issue, given many were navigating how to work from home. Even among the that transition, no one ever got frustrated with me, everyone had an open ear and spoke with very kind words. I can't say much about the school experience but the staff that I worked between the Bursar and Provost office were great! I am so appreciative to all that took the time to help me! read more

As far as community colleges go it could be better. Reasons? 1. Good luck getting your financial aid. Why? Because even if you fill out your FAFSA in plenty of time they have additional forms you need to fill out and they only inform you via email so if you don't have access to internet you're screwed. Plus if you need to go talk to a financial aid adviser you will be sitting out there for 3 hours and I am not exaggerating. 2. The teacher's are alright. I really suggest using ratemyprofessor.com when picking classes and register asap. Some teachers are outstanding and some are just God awful. read more

I took a Japanese class here with a teacher who was unable to stay on track and admitted herself that she had been retired but "they can't keep me away." She was also fairly rude (it was one time, but still, uncalled for). Poor quality teaching for the money. I also took online courses and I had a teacher so bad that every single time they assigned homework or a quiz, I either had to email them to tell them that they got information wrong in the questions, or to tell them that they graded an answer I had given as a wrong answer, even though I had in fact answered it correctly. Every. Single. Time. Often it was multiple questions. I followed exactly what the textbook said and what the teacher put in their official lessons and correspondences, and apparently grading things correctly was just too much of an effort for them. You get what you pay for apparently, don't even waste your money! I had one teacher out of 6 that was lovely, but for throwing down thousands of dollars, just don't make that gamble. I've worked with Sinclair for both a large (100+) and small (20-30) training conferences and love it. The staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly, the space is clean and nice, with a lot of variety in room options, and the A/V and technology is great. Food options are great, tasty, and affordable, and their break packages are good (all our participants LOVE the snack options). Parking is plentiful and right beneath the building, and as the event coordinator, the amount to pay for guest parking passes was reasonable. I love the great hall area for the big lunch or dinner reception- window walls and super high ceilings. Having been to several other conference centers, Sinclair really stands out. read more

My experience with Sinclair College has been terrible! College recruiters lie to get you in and promise you the moon. Then the admissions staff lies at every turn. It was extremely difficult to enroll in school and took nearly 5 months to get everything finished. They are constantly updating their system and it never works causing YOU to miss very important deadlines and making it impossible to keep up. Learning software does not work properly and a course you should easily get an A in ends up as a D IF YOU ARE LUCKY. I paid $140 for 1 math book and it showed up wrapped in plastic with no binding. TEXT BOOKS ARE ALL PROPRIETARY AND HAVE NO RESALE VALUE. Tech support and instructor support never helps and most links produce 404 page not found errors. The "university" has a 14% graduation rate which is laughable. The University uses every dirty trick possible to take as much of your loans, aid, and scholarships as possible leaving you struggling financially. The online system has no speed control and speaks so slowly it is impossible to focus on the lessons. I was promised I would only have to come to the campus one time this was the biggest lie of all as I have been forced to come to the campus at least a dozen times. They also force you to come for exams multiple times which is 140 miles round trip for me. The list goes on and on and if you expect help from staff FORGET ABOUT IT they lie and NEVER PERFORM. If you are serious about earning a degree do anything but go here. I attended Miami Hamilton years ago and had to stop going for health reasons and couldn't return until I paid $1800 for withdrawing early. The tuition is cheaper and the school is ranked #27 in the country. I also looked into the University of Cincinnati, and Cincinnati State. This is a nightmare! Run FOOL! read more

This school is a joke, internet sucks, no parking, your not allowed to eat at certain areas inside the school, it takes 20 mins to find a bathroom, staff are rude, no outlets to charge a phone. I went to UC for two years and it was ok but for a community college Sinclair rocks :) There are a lot of professors who really go above and beyond to make sure you are learning what you need to know and really want to help you along you way! I was a student at Sinclair Community College and all I got to say is that going there is a bad idea. All they care about is your money and they changed my financial aid award letter without my knowledge and NEVER gave me my refund when i had excess money left over. All I gotta say is that if you are a student here or are thinking about applying here, DON'T DO IT!!! You will never see your refund money. The fiancial aid department doesnt know how to do things right. I registered late in the semester because I cannot figure out how to use the online scheduling system, but they were very helpful with that.
