The class instructor was very knowledgeable and always available to answer questions, gave insightful demos, and helped class members when stuck on a project. Each class features a demonstration on a new skill plus time for questions, and time to practice the skill. Open studio time each weekend can be used to practice and to create anything you'd like to make. I have enjoyed it so much, I've already signed up for a hand building class next session. Prices here are equivalent to other pottery studios in Central Ohio, but this studio has more of a community feel than other for-profit entities.

I've taken one class a semester multiple times at my own pace because I work very long hours. The small classroom setting allows for a very intimate and open experience where all members are able to ask questions and talk freely. The classroom setting also offers action stations where trainees can get their hands on a pistol, learn about it, and practice without ever putting live ammunition in it. The course is great for all experience levels and provides so much useful information to make you more comfortable around guns, but more importantly, to make you safe around guns. The requirements are the same but the methods and quality of instruction are not, some just check the blocks while others really care about what they do, Family Tactical Training is definitely in the the later category. Vince and Brad made this training practical and enjoyable from start to finish, safety was always first and foremost in everything we did both in the classroom and on the range during the second day. I enjoyed the entire class but the Bob the attorney's overview of the state and federal laws and their practical application was extremely useful. I also very much enjoyed the simulator, even though I think I did pretty well I would love to run back through the scenarios again (a few times!). Carrying a weapon for defense is a HUGE responsibility and requires constant training, practice, and the right mindset ,these aspects were also heavily stressed throughout the program. If you choose to carry and need this class or just want to learn more about handguns, I highly recommend Family Tactical Training, they are true professionals! Obviously this is a highly personal choice, there are some out there that are totally against all gun ownership and others that are for totally unrestricted carry and ownership, I wrote this review based upon my own stance on the issue and my personal choice in the matter.

Michael Overly is without a doubt one of the finest private music teachers in the country, particularly for guitar. I didn't realize it at the time (I was terrible about practicing what I was supposed to practice and Mike used to call me "Space Case!"), but his method and instruction gave me the theoretical and intellectual foundation to set me up as a pro player. He had an early handwritten version of his own method book at that time, and it was far superior to anything I have seen on the market since. I later used that book as a foundation for my own guitar teaching and when I lost the old book I did my best to recreate it. I can absolutely recommend him to any parent looking for a serious teacher for their own child. He also has the experience and theoretical knowledge to be a terrific resource for any adult player looking to expand his or her horizons to the pro level. Mike did a lot for me more than 30 years ago as a musician, and I'm very glad to have a chance to return the favor by writing this short review.
