overall, the food is very very good! it is however, very expensive. you have to basically pay for everything here. chips and salsa are not free, you have to pay for rice and beans. the first time i came here, i left hungry (i only got 3 tacos). i would steer clear of the steak (was very dry to me) and choose a shredded meat (like birria or carnitas) ! i really liked their chips, the birria quesadilla, and the carnitas tacos! i highly recommend getting a quesadilla (best deal) and their green hot sauce is also amazing! overall, probably the best mexican in the area but expensive. i wish they had a coke machine . i was sad they didn't have diet coke (only in a can). also the service is so slow. like so slow. but i still recommend because of the lack of good mexican in the area . read more

This place is insane!! The best authentic mex food ever. Yes they charge you for chips n salsa bc they make the chips in house. The grilled cactus leaves are amazing don't pass these up for something different. The salsa verde is the right mix of spicy and hot. The carne street tacos are extremely authentic. To top it off, the margaritas were fresh and not made with a store bought mixer. Prices were extremely reasonable. If you are looking for run of the mill boring Mex food, you won't find it here. Amazing food and service. We will absolutely be back. They have a great outdoor seating area for when the weather gets nice. We got the birria ramen and birria grilled cheese, and hibiscus margarita. Everything was very reasonably priced. $5.50 margaritas and $4 beers. One of the best meals we've had in a while. The kindest waitress and the owner was so friendly and sweet. Food was freshly made great taste no complaints as to food quality etc. The only issue is it is a little pricey and you have to pay for everything even refills on tea etc. again outside of price compared to other restaurants it is a little costly but the food is great read more

Delicious authentic food that is worth the time it takes to make. I was born and raised in San Diego and this is by far the best Mexican we've found DJ ce moving here last summer. They take pride in their craft and it shows. Everything was fresh and delicious. We ordered two rounds of chips and guac and even took another order home for the kids. Y'ALL. This place is LEGIT!! The tacos, the sopes, everything is absolutely authentic. While the Clemson area has many solid choices for American-style Mexican food, this place is different. Chips and salsa are made by hand (yes! The chips, too!), so they, rightly, charge for these. Worth every penny. This place is a gem! read more

Ok. Don't come at me. If you are looking for a place to suck down beer and eat your weight in free chips and salsa-then this isn't the place for you. If you are looking for true authentic Mexican food then you have found your place. We have eaten there twice. The first time we had quesabirria tacos. They were so good I can't wait to have them again. My hubby got street tacos and guacamole salad. He loved them as well. Again authentic. This time we wanted to try some apps with some adult beverages as they recently got their liquor license. We each had a margarita-now this isn't your average margarita. I got pineapple which was made with real fruit and the glass was rimmed in Deliciousness of chamoy and tajin. My hubby chose hibiscus and thought it was awesome as well. We shared a tamale, the huarache and the dip trio. Would definitely order all again but next time I'm getting the birria again! Can't wait. Awful experience. Ordered appetizers and they didn't have cheese dip. They dont serve alcohol. We ordered 2 meals that included shrimp on them yet shrimp was not on the entree once it was served. Its a small, looks to be a refurbished house, which is not bad. I appreciated the look and feel of the small place. If you park out back, you will question if you're at the right place. Follow the arrows on the sidewalk. The outside seating is appealing. It's off the main path but we enjoyed it. The fam had the fajitas, quesadilla, tostada, and tamale. They were all good. While I think 5 stars is a bit exaggerated, the food is good and there's plenty of it. However, there were no chips, salsa or soup served before the meal. The quesabirries were good, but on the greasy side. The restaurant itself is very basic and service was kind of slow considering we were the only ones there most of the time. The food was good but not 5 star. Trio dip and bean soup cup are the size of catchup cups. Way too small. Chips were best part! Served margaritas in small plastic cups and you don't get to see your bill they just tell you what you ordered and you use your card. I went due to ratings and was somewhat disappointed. Has only been opened 9 months, and it's definitely a hidden gem near clemson. Coming from a hispanic family in Texas, we have not found authentic mexican food anywhere in south carolina until now. You can tell how fresh the ingredients are and this makes the food so much better than other restaurants that don't make all of their food in house. Their rice is probably the best thing on the menu, if you haven't tried true mexican rice, you need to go and try it. Their handmade corn tortillas were warm and delicious. Service was prompt and the waiter made sure to check up on us during our meal, even the owner came out to talk to us to explain more about her restaurant. I was a little worried after reading past reviews saying service was slow or unpleasant but they exceeded our expectations and more! I feel like they listen to their customers and put in the effort to make sure everyone's dining experience is the best possible. Pricing is also not bad at all! I understand that chips and salsa are not complimentary but they are worth ordering for how amazing the quality is. Definitely check them out if you want to learn more about the hispanic culture and try amazing food. They also have a seasonal menu so more authentic dishes will be offered in November! read more
