Sad, sad tacos. I really wanted to like this place, but it was a big disappointment. The tacos were very small for the price, and overall not worth what we paid. We ordered al pastor, and the meat was extremely dry and lacked flavor. We spent over $70 on a few burritos and tacos, but our order was missing items that were supposed to be included--chips, beans, and rice. For families, a heads up: the kids' fish taco had bones in it. Customer service was also pretty subpar. There was no courteous greeting or even a quick intro, and we mentioned it was our first time there. It didn't feel welcoming, and combined with the food issues, it just wasn't a great experience. Papi's tacos is located right on the river with a great view. The space inside is pretty limited and there are only a couple tables outside so it can sometimes be challenging to find seating on weekends. Service is quick and everyone working there was friendly. We ordered 6 different tacos and thought they were just okay - birria taco and pulled pork tacos were good, but all other tacos were pretty bland and didn't have much flavor. Tacos range from $4.5-6 which is on the pricier side and are pretty small, so you would need to order 3-4 depending on how hungry you are/ supplement with appetizers. I might try tortas next time instead of tacos, but probably not going to come back. read more

Bring cash only here basically. 3/5 Ambience- very authentic vibe inside the restaurant and also feels bright. 4/5 Food- chips and salsa is very fresh, salsa got some heat and the chips are crispy. 4/5. Left to right is chicken taco, al pastor, and shrimp tacos. Chicken taco is very fresh and flavorful, corn tortillas warm and the chicken is packed with Mexican flavors. 4/5 Al pastor taco has very tender pork and has bold flavors. The onions and cilantro add another depth of freshness but the pineapple doesn't exactly work as well. 3.5/5. Shrimp taco is very bright and is the most fresh of all! Loved this place! The food was authentic, fresh, and super tasty! There is indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor is better here, IMO, particularly on a nice day, because it's along the river boardwalk. I ordered 6 kinds: al pastor, chicken and chorizo, cactus and refried beans, fried fish, chicken barbacoa, carnitas; and I also got the guacamole and chips, and the horchata drink. The only taco that I wasn't too excited about was the cactus; it was a bit bland. My favorite taco was the fried fish (I'm not even a fish person and I liked it!). The guacamole also was excellent! i would eat papis for every single meal if i could. I walk there from my apartment atleast twice a week. I get the tacos de asada (solo onion y cilantro). Also, I just got my roommate addicted to it. Our main obsession? the sauces. Get both of the green sauces-avocado & jalapeño! I come for the tacos, but I stay for the people. Each employee knows my roommate & I's order by heart, fav sauces and all. I don't even wanna know how much I've spent here. Tacos were very good but more expensive than most other taco places. We spent $60 (before tip) for 3 people - 5 tacos, 1 quesadilla, 2 street corn, a side of chips and cheese sauce, no drinks. Service was very friendly and quick. It's a small place but located along the river so nice ambience. We'd go again but keep in mind it's not the most economical taco option around. Why not try a restaurant when they advertise a special like "taco Tuesday?!". Forewarned that the Tuesdays tacos are a bit smaller than the regular tacos, I headed the advice and ordered three. All three of the the tacos were quite good. There's a variety of sauces to choose from. The kind gentleman at the register provided me 3 of them, free of charge. Refried beans and cactus taco, chicken Barbacoa taco, and chicken and Carissa taco were what I chose. All three of them were very good. Keep in mind they were quite a bit smaller than if it wasn't a $2 or $3 special night. Was hoping the refried beans and cactus taco would stand out, it was good but nothing particularly special. Ordered some chips and guacamole as an "app". The chips were fresh and plentiful, the guacamole was plentiful but too many onions for my taste. We stopped here while in Greenville. The guacamole was not impressive and was a super small serving. For the price charged Papis taco should have offered a bigger portion of guacamole. The sides of salsa we got for our meals were not full containers and were only filled halfway. For our entrees we ordered the al pastor burrito and the chicken and chorizo torts. The burrito was a nice size and tasted good, especially with the avocado salsa. The torta was also a good size and had a good taste. Overall, this place is a bit pricey and some of the serving sizes are small for what you are paying. The tacos are expensive as well. The cashier was not wearing her mask properly and only pulled the mask over her mouth to help us. I know there is a plastic barrier, but that still is unsafe. The male bus boy/order runner was not wearing his mask properly and did not have his nose covered by the mask either. He comes close to patrons inside and outside and should be wearing a mask correctly. There was also a patron waiting in line to order who was not wearing a mask correctly and the staff did not do anything about it read more

Amazing location! The weather was great so we sat outside. Initially, I got the 3 carne Asada tacos and the Mexican corn. Absolutely dericious for both dishes!
