Not your typical Mexican restaurant. You'll order when you walk in and will be assigned a table by the staff after that. Everyone is super friendly! Chips and salsa are not complimentary, but you do get these cute little wagon wheel looking chips called duros. They're like puffed air and remind me of pork rinds but not as crunchy and probably made from flour. The drinks are all delicious and strong. The margaritas are small but watch out, they'll sneak up on you! Lots of options. They specialize in tequila and mezcal with flights as an option. The bar is the spot to be; bartenders are friendly and they have small TVs to watch whatever sports are in season. The atmosphere is a little lacking in my opinion, but it's all about the food. Food is delicious and the portions are larger than expected. We got the chips and queso, Heidi's Flautas, soup of the day, and the Birria Egg Rolls. Too much food for 2 people so we took some home. Location is in a strip mall; parking is tight and can be a challenge. We won't let that stop us though! We will be back for those delicious Birria Egg Rolls and margaritas! read more

This is alright. It's definitely novel for a Mexican joint but it's an unwanted novelty. No complementary chips, mid portions. Salsa was flat. Place was pretty packed all things considered. Great customer service. They had a large breakfast burrito order just before us (20+) and they let us know it would take a little longer than usual. The first thing that came out was the Mexican Street Corn Fries. Amazing. Highly recommend it. The picture that I saw on Yelp didn't do it justice so I took one that looks more appealing. The breakfast burrito is huge. I ate maybe 1/3 and had to take the rest to go. The Agua Frescas were fresh and fantastic. Best Horchata I have had in a long time. My wife has the Comal Toast and said it wasn't bad. It was all right. My wife is not extremely expressive when it comes to her food so sounds like it was good to me. 10/10 would recommend. If there's a way to feel transported into the kitchen of someone's aunties house, it's a moment like this. We walked in being new to the restaurant and wanted to sample multiple entrees to share. Thankfully the host was amazingly helpful in helping us order an experience. What this place missed was a full 12 piece band for the joy that my heart, my tastebuds and my stomach was feeling. What a gift of a place to be in Greenville and what a cultural transportation that my soul needed to be fed and healed. Thursday lunchtime found this restaurant very busy. I arrived at 12:15 to a line at the register - a party of two and another party of three. I was not able to order until 12:20 and was told that my seating options are at the bar or at one of two empty two top tables in the outer/foyer room. Not a big deal. the reason was that almost every other table was occupied, and so the restaurant was louder than average. Chips and queso arrived promptly at 12:23 PM. My solo chicken burrito order, however, did not arrive until 12:48 PM. That was a 25 minute wait for a burrito, which seems like a pretty long wait time. I would have assumed that they did not have to cook the beans fresh or even, being the lunch hour, they must have pre-prepped a certain amount of grilled chicken in anticipation of a rush lunch crowd? I don't know why the wait was long, and no explanation or apology for the long wait was given. Maybe it was normal and everyone showed up at lunch at the same time and backed the kitchen up? Why is this a downgrade of a star or two? Because most lunch hours are 60 minutes and then it is back to work we go. This changed my "dining in" choice and turned it into a "to go" order - not a choice, just the fact that I had to leave. The food was good, as always. Portion size for the burrito was good, I think the last review I weighed out the burrito on a home kitchen scale at just over one lb. The chips were home-made from flour tortilla's instead of corn. For $6 you can only get one chip refill. Chips, queso, chicken burrito and a cup of water with tax was $20.52. Also on the higher end for local lunch choices. Given the higher relative cost in both dollars and time, I will not be coming here for a lunch break during the work week. read more

This place was ok. Maybe I went on a bad day or got the wrong thing. Given the hype around this restaurant and the chef I had high expectations. First...what is this salsa? It is a solid creamy orange color, like it was blended with cream or something. It is all one note, no chunks of tomato or spices or anything. The taste was ok, but nothing special. The chips were ok but not great. The quesitacos were good but super greasy, which made me a little sick. Overall, I'd go here if I was with someone and they wanted it. I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant, but unfortunately it didn't live up to my expectations. I was surprised-and honestly a bit annoyed-to find out there was no table service, though I tried to roll with it. Then I learned the salsa wasn't complimentary, which felt odd. When my food arrived, I wasn't given silverware or water. Halfway through my meal I needed another soda, but the line was so long there was no way I could get one without letting my food go cold. The person who brought the food was also noticeably rude. And one more thing: the only bench available was outside, marked "no smoking." I'm not a smoker, but it's outside for goodness' sake - that just felt unnecessarily fussy on top of everything else. And in the end, the flavors just tasted... off. Not what I hoped for at all. Amazing Mexican Food! This place blew me away. The food was fresh, full of flavor, and perfectly seasoned -- you can really taste the authenticity in every bite. Returned for lunch on a Tuesday. Ordered the Birria Quesi Tacos again. While the flavors were true, the consume and beef lacked seasoning in the form of salt. I update this only because this establishment cares about what they do. Chef(s) taste taste taste your food, if you're not going to have salt on the table do your due diligence and check your food for seasoning, frequently.
