Wanted to try out another Mexican restaurant in Central, and this place is our new go to! They are always packed but the food still comes out super fast. Overall the staff is pretty good too. The ambience is very loud and rowdy, like a loud cafeteria. Lots of people conversing and enjoying dinner in big groups which is typical. The margs probably amp it up too tbh. The food is pretty good, what you would expect piping hot and cheesy. I like that they bring out an array of sauces with the chips even a bean dip which is unique. Then enchiladas and vegetarian plates are well made and filling. I enjoy the enchiladas that come in bean, cheese chicken and beef. Overall a nice place, culturally decorated and conveniently located near Walmart and other shops. Doesn't disappoint, check them out, when you are craving some Mexican cuisine! read more

My favorite Mexican restaurant, and I have eaten at most of the ones in Oconee, Pickens, Anderson, and Greenville counties. Been going here since 2007 when it was located in the hole near Hardee's. I have tried most of the items on the menu (which has changed some over the years) and never had a bad meal. The Quesada Grande is my favorite. I always feel like I get quality food and good service. The restaurant is clean, and the restrooms are not the nicest, but I have never seen them dirty. The only negative I have is that their chips and salsa are just average. The chips are thin (I prefer thicker so I can scoop with them) and the regular salsa is fairly hot. I have to mix it with mild. But that's a Me thing, so I'm good. They also do a good job of keeping my tea filled, and I drink a lot of tea. read more

Honestly I did NOT expect this restaurant to be SO good. Upon entry, I was greeted with very friendly and polite staff. I was seated quickly in a beautiful booth. Honestly this place is beautiful. But that's not why I'm rating them so highly. I am extremely picky on my Mexican styled restraints, as some places just don't do it right. But to my surprise, this place went above and beyond my expectation with taste. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone who feels they can't eat at "just any" Mexican food place. This restaurant had good reviews so I came here to get takeout. The employees were very pleasant and patient. The food was ready pretty quickly. I ordered tacos, chimichangas, nachos, and enchiladas. The tacos were pretty basic, they only had beef, a little cheese, and lettuce on them. The bottom of the taco shells were soggy and the meat fell right out the bottom. The chimichangas were also soft and not fried like they should be. The food was edible; pretty basic and nothing special. I probably won't be back. read more

Ahhh, how I have missed you "old friend"! With husband's surgeries finally healing and boostered, was excited to visit our favorite Mexican restaurant once again. Welcomed by the manager with a big smile and wide opened door, we were quickly ushered to our tables. Their thin, crispy, hot tortilla chips were placed on the table along with two salsas (one hot/one not) and their bean dip. All complimentary! I ordered the Fajitas Texanas (and upgraded with Carnitas) and a medium sized (24 ounce) Margarita. Hubby had his Chimichanga. Friendly service, nice and clean! My 19 year old son & I were going to Walmart in Central and decided to grab some lunch beforehand. We've been here before and the food was always good, hot and quick. I ordered 3 hard beef tacos with a tamale on the side and my son ordered Arroz Con Pollo (rice topped with grilled chicken and cheese dip). We've always had super speedy service so I decided to time them today! Lol! Honestly, it was faster than both my son & I thought it would be. From the time our waitress took our orders and started walking away from our table... it took approximately FOUR MINUTES to get our food. Actually it was 4 minutes and 8 seconds... but who's counting. The 3 hard beef tacos I had were so filling that I couldn't finish them so I asked for a box for the tamale (which by the way was ONLY $3!-- check out the pic!) Anyway, I give this place 5 stars. We were shopping at Walmart and decided to have an early dinner. Parking is not a problem because they share a lot with Walmart. We were seated immediately and the waiter came in a short time. The waiter was friendly and took our order. I tried the beef tacos. Our order took a little longer that I thought as the place was not crowded. The food came and it was OK but not outside. Menu entree ordered included a "chili relleno". What came was slop...a glob of ground beef with half-melted cheese and a little piece of a bell pepper (see picture---that is how the food arrived untouched by me). See the little piece of bell pepper, isn't it cute?! I asked the waitress to bring me a chili relleno as described on the menu, she said that was it. Wow. I explained to her what a chili relleno means to me, that it a stuffed pepper (that's the meaning in spanish), either stuffed with cheese or meat or whatever, but the point is that it is a whole chili pepper stuffed with something. She said that what is pictured is a chili relleno for them. She asked if I wanted her to ask a manager, now that is weak. A good waitperson seeks to resolve the issue, not just dump it in the customer's lap. So I said yes, the manager came out, and kept making snarky passive aggressive comments like "I'm from Mexico, I know what a chili relleno is", and crap like that. I explained that no other Mexican restaurant would serve food like it was on my plate, much less call it something that it isn't. He finally, though reluctantly and condescendingly, offered to bring what he called the poblano pepper. Sure enough, it was a true chili relleno. Then he dug into me again trying to tell me how I was wrong about the term. I told him that we were finished, end of conversation. I am bilingual, lived in Albuquerque for 14 years, married a woman from Costa Rica. But none of that matters, even the most gringo of gringos knows what a chili relleno is if you've eaten at several Mexican restaurants. To add insult to injury, the prices on the ticket did not match the prices on the menu, so that was another fiasco to deal with. Avoid this place if you place any value on customer service and not being treated like a child. read more

Showed up to Monterreys at 7:40PM and told them we had a party of ten. Three hostesses shook their heads at us and refused to tell us anything. We saw THREE tables sections that would seat at least 10 and they refused to wait for the people in those sections to leave so we could be seated. As we were waiting they kept seating the people waiting behind us at those sections that if they just held even one we could give them our business. After the fourth hostess showed up and shook her head we left and took our business to Fiesta Grill. Fiesta Grill IMMEDIATELY starting moving tables together and by the time the last of our party drove over from Monterreys we were seated. Fiesta Grill will continue to get our business instead of the other place 5 minutes away. read more

This use to be our favorite Tex-Mex until our visit today. Today we found out they're just like any other restaurant in Pickens county, not worth a damn I did not get what I ordered. Did not get a chance to correct it bc no one came to check on us. So I had to eat it after waiting about 10 minutes. When I tried to flag someone down, I was ignored. No one came to refill our water with it being 100 degrees outside and us eating Tex-Mex. Something was wrong with the AC bc it was very hot inside as well The only person we saw after we got our food was someone bringing the bill and they weren't our server. We won't be back an we ate there about once a week. Oh well. We will just drive to Greenville now or get fast food. read more

Stopped in for lunch and boy were we pleasantly surprised! Excellent guacamole, so tasty and fresh. I had the organic burrito which also was delish, but it was a HUGE portion, I only ate about 1/3... son and hubby shared the fajita for 2 which could have fed 4 people, and they thoroughly enjoyed it... the meals all came with a delicious salad with a nice creamy dressing and rice... so good. Would go here over Monterey or any other Mexican restaurant any day. No place (except fiesta grill 2) is even worthy of being mentioned. Me and my girlfriend got the Fajitas California for 2 and it was a life changing experience. It was possibly the best food I've ever had at any restaurant in Central. It was even good warmed up the next day. Their spicy salsa is an amazing compliment to any dish, my single only complaint is that it's not endless. This is a great Mexican restaurant. You get free salsa chips AND bean dip within a minute or so of sitting down and service is very very fast. My girlfriend and I have been coming here for cheap fun date nights for years and really enjoy it. The wait staff is nice and even started to remember us once we had been coming for a while. My favorite thing on the menu is the texas nachos. They're piled high and covered with cheese. I usually get two meals out of them. Food is mediocre not the best , but it's cheap. We have gone several times and never been greeted with a "hello " or "how are you" , Service has been rude and non-attentive on every occasion. My boyfriend and I went back tonight , just to try again and we were given burnt chips (some cooked and others not) and the free bean dip they provide tasted somewhat like soap. Also I ordered a small cheese dip, which I never received. Our waiter put in my order before my boyfriends had placed his and I got my food way early , not how I wanted it. I always order Chimichangas they come with chicken or beef , lettuce, tomato , sour cream, beans , and cheese sauce , I like mine with Ground Beef , no lettuce, no guacamole . It's pretty simple, that what I ordered. When he put them in front of me , they consisted of chimichangas , how I asked except they forgot tomatoes and I think I must've forgot to order the wavy black hair right on top of my sour cream. Our waiter was nowhere around so we found someone else, who asked if I wanted to order something else , after saying no twice to her and our waiter . We decided to call it a night , we informed our waiter that we were just gonna go and he responded to us with "sounds good" .
