I was tempted to get the mini meal since I don't eat a lot, but I ultimately caved and decided to get the combo meal since I wanted to try the Kailua pork too. The verdict? The Kailua pork was a little too salty for me, it comes mixed with like cabbage or lettuce, and overall very mushy which I didn't mind. However the Chicken Katsu came with a bbq type sauce and everyone thought the sauce was delicious. My fiance ordered the bbq mix which included the bbq chicken, beef, and short ribs and I thought the beef was so yummy. The portion size was big. All the combos come with either 1-2 scoops of rice and macaroni salad. My meal was pretty perfect for 2 whole meals for me. I ate the katsu with my leftover rice for breakfast the next morning! The empanadas were super deep fried, the potato filling was not good and the chicken was nowhere to be found. On top of that they were extremely overpriced, $4.50 for one empanada? You're better off going to an authentic Colombian bakery, with fresh delicious chicken empanadas and those are only $1. We also ordered the salchipapas and they were sogging in oil, don't recommend.

It did not taste like chicken to me since everything was really soft on the inside layer. Beef Empanada: This also had a hard crunchy layer on the outside. The inside was hot and soft as well but this one definitely had the beef flavor and texture to it. Overall: The empanadas here were not that bad for a first time. I saw that plain dogs were $2.50/ea and dogs with any toppings were $3/ea. I figured they had to be decent, so I got two dogs with chili and mustard. The dogs were not snappy(like a good dirty water dog), nor were they grilled. Bland is the only way I can describe it, and kind of a mushy texture. The chili was an all beef(no bean) canned variety, possibly Hormel, again lacking flavor or any spice. Going to a hot dog truck, you expect to get at least an average hot dog. I have had better Chili dogs from 7-11 at less than half the price. The lack of ANY other patrons at the truck at a highly visible location just after noon should have been a red flag. I won't make that mistake again.
