When I signed…read moreup it was my first time joining a membership based spa/salon for anything and I am aware that quite a few of them have existed and come and gone over the years. In the beginning I had a top-notch experience. Member treats, including more lip balm than I ever needed, and many product samples, a few of which I have yet to use. Today, the member treats seem to be a thing of the past and the prices (for new members) have gone up significantly. The experience was still very good, just not quite up to the top-notch label anymore. Despite this, if you are looking for a membership based spa/salon for facials, Skoah is still one of the better deals out there. The non-member prices are higher but still somewhat competitive. The products are good quality, though to me they do seem a bit high-priced compared to others I have found that seem to work just as well. I will concede I may be a bit more budget-sensitive than the type of customer Skoah is really aiming for. The two main reasons I cancelled my membership are because I felt I was ready for a change regarding my skin care routine and the membership model didn't work for me anymore at this point in time. Those are reasons specific to me personally and probably will not apply to most people reading this.

The booking process online was super straight forward, and even when I called to reschedule, they were able to accommodate me with no problem. I love the modern, clean atmosphere in the shop and the treatment room was spacious! The warming beds are a great touch and I loved the personal note and lip balm they leave for you. I appreciated that my esthetician told me the benefits of the Skoah skin care line without pushing them on me. I walked away with my skin feeling baby smooth and clean. The only hesitation I have for becoming a member is that there was only a small range of facials offered. Because of my skin type I would like to have the option of more intense peels or microdermabrasion.

After the massage, I utilized the steam shower and while I'm normally not a steam person depending on my hair (I had braids today), it was a great way to round out the relaxation experience! Perla was my esthetician, and she was absolutely incredible--knowledgeable, gentle, and so thorough in explaining every step of the process. The treatment itself was comfortable (with numbing of course) , and the results are definitely noticeable. My skin looks smoother, brighter, and more even, and it has that healthy glow I've been trying to achieve for a while. The epidermal leveling add-on made a huge difference in how well my skin absorbed products afterward. This service is truly worth it, especially in Perla's hands. You can tell she genuinely cares about results and your overall experience. I'll definitely be coming back and recommending this to anyone looking to invest in their skin.

Every individual on staff is highly competent and offers great conversation and a welcoming personality. Dr. McNamara provides exceptional care. He is always on time, knowledgeable, friendly, honest, and kind. One of the many things that has impressed me is that Dr. McNamara has never tried to promote anything unnecessary or costly. In fact quite the opposite is true, he has steered both my husband and I to less expensive treatments when there were options, and has reduced or waived additional fees when I've come in for a check in appointment. When presented with a suggestion for a service, I was provided information to consider and the rest was up to me. No pressure. I also want to take time to applaud each of the amazing men I've had the pleasure of meeting in their various capacities (Dr. McNamara, Walter, and Jose), for each being dynamic, and highly skilled in their respective roles, and for also sharing the ethical and attractive quality of never fishing for insecurity in a person in order to push product or services. That quality can be far too rare in this industry. I really believe this to be a business that is an exception to that rule. It is a practice where elective services are client lead and based on the professionals truly wanting the best outcomes for their patients. These are just a few of the countless reasons that I feel blessed to have found them and I will keep coming back. The glowing reviews are absolutely accurate and exceedingly well deserved!
