Mission Burgers is Wenatchee's hometown favorite for smashburgers-- typically…read moredouble-meat-double-cheese burgers, with meat patties literally smashed thin and fried on high heat to create a thick, intensely browned bark. It's Burger King on steroids! You won't find tomatoes on the menu board, but almost every other combination of garnish (and companion meats) are options. I went with their stated classic, the "OG Mission" ('original gangster') burger. It is delicious, albeit noticeably greasy, due to the extra-high fat content of the ground beef. But that's where the rich flavor comes from. What Mission Burgers is doing right is highly seasoning the meat with salt and pepper, then punching up the flavor with pickles, red onion, and their special sauce. Add to that the richness of the cheese and the crusty, grilled bun--this is the winning combination at the base of all their other burger options. The other thing I really appreciate is, their straightforward pricing without trying to upsell their ingredients. The add-ons are inexpensive--slice of cheddar is $.50 compared to EZ's $1.47 for the same.
