Hummus from scratch with a very ample sized combo
Skip M.

If I could give six stars I would... My friend took me to his longtime favorite Mediterranean restaurant and believe me it was delicious!! I have the combination wrap, lamb, and chicken with their made from scratch, hummus... Scrumptious! I can only rave about this place... Go for it. You will not be disappointed nor will you leave hungry.!!

Lamb salad

My husband and I know we can come to eat a delicious meal and will never be disappointed. I ordered the lamb salad which is amazingly delicious and my husband got the gyro. We've been coming for years. Truly worth trying if you haven't. And if you have you know what I'm talking about! Friendly staff. Keep up the great work

This spot is in Park n Shop and really stands out to me for their food and service. It's a mom and pop restaurant which has great food, prices and wonderful service. You order at the counter and the turn around is very fast. The produce is fresh and my lamb was very flavorful. The owner/chef is very friendly. I had the spicy lamb wrap which was HUGE and had the freshest of ingredients. The sauce has the perfect amount of spice for me. A must try if you are in the mood for some healthy Mediterranean food!

Really good Mediterranean food in a causal and cozy cafe located in a strip mall. Went here to celebrate a coworkers birthday and throughly enjoyed my meal. We were a group of 7 and they let us order our food and pay for our food individually after. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Their food is fresh and delicious with decent size portions. The locals know this is a gem of a restaurant and lots of ppl were grabbing lunch while we were there.

Shawarma Wrap

My friends and I stopped by Concord for the Creative Concord arts festival and we dined at The Mediterranean for a late lunch. Ordering is done at the counter, but you pay for your food after you finish your meal and you bus your own table. I ordered a lamb shawarma wrap while my wife ordered the combo shawarma platter, which came with two sides and some pita. We ended up getting the baba ghanoush and side salad as our two sides. For the shawarma, the lamb tasted like a braised lamb rather the the type of lamb you typically get off a street cart that's sliced off a rotisserie. The lamb was not a juicy as I would've liked it to be, but you certainly get a lot of it in the wrap if you're looking to fill up on a lot of protein. The chicken from the combo platter was also a bit on the dry side. The pita included on the side was pretty unremarkable: I've definitely had fluffier, fresher pitas elsewhere. Overall, I like to support small businesses over large chains whenever there is an opportunity. However, despite the friendly folks working behind the counter, the food was unfortunately not special enough for me to seek it out a second time.

Plenty of eye candy to look at while dining.

12 June 2024 We watched Mark Weins on YouTube last night eating lamb in Turkey (Turkey the country ha ha). I Want Lamb Now ! We walked towards this -new to us- lamb serving restaurant with apprehension. We are afraid to take a chance on having a poor experience. My wife agrees with me. "If it looks sketchy, we will turn around and eat at Kevin's Vietnamese place. We know that Kevin's is good." We enter and are the only customers. A bad omen? The chef, while washing his hands, greets us very warmly. The place looks clean and quiet and there is a nice breeze floating around. I ask for a recommendation and the chef suggests several options. I choose the lamb salad and my wife the falafel wrap. We choose a table with a modest comfortable cushion and the chef begins his whirling dervish act. He is preparing the dishes with graceful movements and clanging sounds. I then notice that I am in an establishment with signs on the restroom door. "For customers only". Not only that but the dreaded "OUT OF ORDER!" sign is yelling at me. Another really bad omen? I'm thinking, "How can I enjoy my meal with my bowels shaking in fear?" The food arrives promptly. We both enjoy the meal as several other guests arrive ordering food to go. The dervish does his magic and no customer is left wanting or waiting for long. We order baklava and it has a very satisfying but not too sweet delicious sweetness. My stomach begins to rumble. I knew this would happen and I'm embarrassed to challenge the "You're out of luck Bub" sigh on the restroom door with the second employee. "Is this out of service?" I point at the restroom and beg with a worried face. "It is in service now" She says, granting me clemency. If you here for nothing else, order something and use the restroom. It is like Finding Elmo and The Incredible Mr. Limpet combined. A visual virtual masterpiece. I suggest not using it under the influence though.

Chicken kabob plate with hummus & Greek salad
Tara L.

Updating to say, they're still the best! Came for my norm- the chicken kabob plate with Greek salad topped with feta, a side of their creamy hummus with a dolma & the most amazing & flavorful falafel (& tzatziki) you've ever had! We love the owners & eat here at least 3 times a month! We also usually have some turkish coffee with a piece of baklava while we wait for our food, always such a nice treat!

Pita

It's Mediterranean food in a plaza. I was greeted with a smile when I walked in. The staff are nice. The ambience for lunch was quiet. I walked in really craving that Mediterranean flavor, the garlics, lemons, olive oil. Sweet, acidic, savory. Sometimes creamy! So I ordered a chicken platter combo, it comes with the protein, 2 sides, 1 pita, 1 dolma, and rice. Pros: service was fast, staff friendly, ready to serve side dishes. Portion was good. The DOLMA (it is bursting with flavor, you have to try it). The chicken was cooked well. Cons: In my opinion, flavors of the food were flat. The tabbouleh was lack-luster, it contained the quinoa, tomatoes and cucumbers, but I was missing the flavors of lemons, even herbs like mint/parsley. The bakdonsieh was the diced tomatoes, cucumbers, drowning in this cream sauce, but that's all I could taste was cream. No acidity, no fresh herbs to brighten the salad. The babaganoush was bland. Not enough garlic, lemon, or the expected nuttiness from tahini. To conclude, I was still craving Mediterranean food, but now I am full and left disappointed. The dolma was the star for me. I hope they use this review as a way to change the trajectory of their business because they do seem like lovely people, but it's difficult to support a small local business if what you are selling is not great. Thank you for the food.

Beef Salad. I ate about 1/4 of it before this pic.. :)

Absolutely delicious to-go salad. Good portion size, delectable meat (so juicy, perfect texture, robust flavor), veggies are crisp and fresh. Generous amount of meat in this salad -- it is a 1:1 meat to salad ratio. My only feedback/recommendation is that they offer tzatziki sauce with the plate (the one pictured was requested and is a meager ration!) and a small offering of hummus/pita bread on the side for this ~$14 salad.

This is one of my favorite gyro spots in the area. Their gyros and shawarmas are delicious and the employees are always friendly. I usually get the lamb wrap but their falafel wrap is also a favorite. The Turkish coffee and dolmas are amazing as well! It's a wonder little hole in the wall Mediterranean spot, it even has a nice mural on the wall of Greece country side if you dine in.

Gyro Wrap w/Feta

The food has always been fresh, especially cold case items. I've loved this restaurant over 20 years.Fresh & consistently delicious.! Favorite is Gyro Wrap with Feta & will feed me twice! The service is friendly & prompt. With great food and service firmly in place, who needs ambiance ?!

In that time the restaurant decided to let another party sit at my reserved table instead. To keep it short…read more.. Excellent food. Excellent service. Gluten free options. I will definitely make sure to visit again when I'm in town. -------------- If you want to read my story of how and why I tried this place, read more here: I walked by this place while my car was getting an oil change. They had a sign that said in big letters, "HUNGRY? We can fix that!" Like Winnie the Pooh, I checked in with my stomach and answered yes! I was famished. I had brought my lunch with me but left it in the car while it was getting the oil changed, so I had nothing to nibble on. It was kind of early, maybe 10 AM, and I didn't even think they would be open, but then I realized they did have the sign outside on the sidewalk. I walked by the front door and it opened automatically. My heart started to flutter. So I went to look at their menu online and saw that they had chicken shawarma bowls. I love chicken shawarma. I decided to look them up on Yelp and make sure they had good reviews. I realized that they were a sponsored ad, and that gave me pause. The last time I went to a Middle Eastern restaurant that was sponsored, it was not so great, so I quickly checked the reviews. They have pretty good reviews! One review said that the chicken was dry, but others were more positive. I had a really good feeling, so I ordered it. Another reviewer commented that the rice was so good -- and they're not normally a rice enthusiast -- so when I placed my order, I upgraded my rice from the white rice that comes with the order to the rice infused with turmeric and garbanzo beans. When I opened my order, the bowl was a pretty decent size. If my husband had been with me, we probably would've been able to split it. In my order, I saw: * Seasoned chicken drizzled with shawarma and a delicious white sauce. * Hummus * Tomato cucumber salad * And this yellow turmeric rice I couldn't resist -- the rice was the first thing I tasted, and it was delicious! I can't quite figure out what flavors are in there, but I could taste a hint of cinnamon, and there were definitely other flavors there. The chicken was moist and flavorful. The hummus could very easily be the best hummus I've ever had. I really enjoyed this meal. I really wanted to eat the entire bowl myself but decided to save half of it for my daughter, who I know will also love it. Customer service was excellent. Adam was at the counter and greeted me very warmly. And when I was leaving, they asked me if I wanted hot sauce and then they put that in the bag. Overall, I give this five stars. I love that the food comes in an eco-friendly container. If there's anything that I could change, it's probably that they put it in a plastic bag instead of a paper bag. I try to avoid plastic as much as possible, but the container was quite big and needed to be in a bag while I hiked back to the oil change place. Oh, and before I forget... one of the first things I asked before I ordered is if the shawarma plate was gluten-free, and he assured me that everything in it was unless I was getting pita. And one more fun note -- when I got back to the car place, someone walked in, saw my food, and immediately asked, "Oh, is that from Manakish?" I was pretty impressed they could recognize it just by the look, especially since the restaurant is about half a mile away. Oh...and when i gave it to my daughter...she loved it so it gets two thumbs up!!

Our most recent kabob was made up of low quality cuts of extremely thick slices of steak that were almost inedible. The fries were bland outside of the paprika they were dusted with. We'd rather pay more for higher quality food than throw the meal away because it's simply not good.

Parking is plenty on the street or in their little lot if early/off hours. If it's on a busy time or with events going on at Todos Santos Plaza, then it can be tricky to find parking. I got the Chicken Platter ($18.99) It came with rice, chicken, salad, humus, 4 triangle pita bread and extra tzatziki sauce on the side. The first thing I noticed right away was that they love their sumac here. I don't mind it at all and the more sumac the better I think. The rice is really fluffy and pairs really well with the chicken. With the tzatziki sauce drizzled on top and extra to add on each bite, it's a great combo wombo of flavor. The hummus is really good too! It is not watery like some places and holds its shape well. Went great with the rice/chicken, with pita or even by itself! Salad was just mix of greens, tomatos, cucmbers with some cheese crumble. No olive oil or vinegar was added so I had to spread some tzatziki to give it a little boost. Overall the dish was really delicious. I would recommend to come here if you like Mediterranian food. Interested in their falafal and would likely get that next time.
