No. When you pay $150 for 3 people's brunch, you'd expect SOMETHING kinda special. There is no huge rush to get here, there was only 2 other people in the entire restaurant (NOW I KNOW WHY), yet I STILL had to walk across the expansive restaurant to get a group of chattering wait staff to fill 3 sodas for the table (ABOUT 8 MINUTES). I get it when it's busy, but to have such poor service, even if it's brunch where a dedicated server isn't necessary, when the restaurant is empty, HOUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM!! Again, when there's no real crowd, having food that sits in warning trays that isn't being eaten and it just sits, makes for pretty bad, unappetizing food. Clumps of "eggs" that aren't fresh by ANY stretch OF THE IMAGINATION AS WELL AS THE REST OF THE FOOD THAT JUST SITS AND SITS... AND SITS..... This "brunch" isn't brunch, it's food that is unmaintained, dry, (NOT CHANGED OUT AFTER NEARLY 40 MINUTES OF NO TAKERS SHOULD BE DUMPED AND FRESH FOOD REPLACING IT!) flavorless and kept luke warm as it sits by the steaming water of the bin. On top of that, to have to go fetch your own soft drinks is a hard NO. POLITE staff, but that's only half the battle. Stop chit chatting and wait your tables... If this is a new concept, the food better be VERY MEMORABLE to make up for ZERO real service and in this case, it wasn't the case at all. The food was okay, but the service was good. Their website said the cost was $10-20 so we went. It was Sunday so they only had brunch. The dining room overlooks the golf course so the view was beautiful- available. Inside the tables had cloth and it was pleasantly quieter than most restaurants. They are only open on Saturday evening and Sunday until 2 pm. The cost of the Sunday Brunch was $50 per person, and for children, $25. They never said that brunch would be that much. We were shocked when the bill came out to $108 plus tip. Expensive lesson: Ask about the price before you sit down. Needless to say, we won't be back. read more

WOW, tonight was a real treat, we use to go to the Maze, but haven't been for awhile since they weren't doing that well and things seem to be in the closed down mode. So when the Monday night Prime Rib came back, we thought we would give it a try. So then I went to Yelp reviews and then I was not sure we should go, cause there was a lot of negative reviews. So after kicking it around we decided to go, well they had either read the bad reviews and made a lot of corrections, cause are dinner was a complete turnaround from what we read. To make the evening even better, we had a Great Waiter named "Oscar" he was Fantastic and also the rest of the servers would stop by and ask if we needed anything. From the moment we walked in AJ was very attentive and helpful. She not only greeted us, but was our waitress. Our daughter has a shrimp allergy and AJ made sure that her food was completely safe for her, and double checking with us about fish. I had the prime rib dip, our son had the maze stone melt, husband had the opened face turkey dinner, and my daughter had the carnitas taquitos. This is really a nice restaurant overlooking the Soboba Springs Country Club We enjoyed a great brunch at the Maze Stone this past weekend. The service was friendly and excellent, and the food very good. The Prices truly cannot be beat for what you receive. And, the decor is impressive, with super high open-beamed 'lodge-like' ceilings. If I do say so, this is worth the drive to "nowhere" in San Jacinto. I only know of The Maze Stone, because my parents live nearby . . . and dad plays golf. . . We visited my MIL in her new home out in San Jacinto and was excited to take her for her birthday to what the reviews said was "the classiest place in San Jacinto" . We were very disappointed to get there and find the restaurant was closed, only the bar was open although the website stated was open and no answer at the phone. Usually one of my favorites...Prime Rib Monday..well not this Monday..or any day would this have been acceptable. Ordered chicken in a Rosemary velouté..served without the velouté and dry as the desert. Prime rib...served with cold veggies, dry and some form of a salt lick Au jus that almost made my mouth swell it was so salty..all of this and it only took an hour to get. Ordered my favorite menu item, The wedge salad to go for our son, and it was sent without any salad dressing..come on! The chicken entree came with bread pudding..but after waiting for it to be delivered and packaged to go, we just decided to leave because it never showed up. The server seemed like she was handling the whole dining room by herself..not cool! Usually the best thing going on a Monday night, but sadly, it sure wasn't. My guy and I went for date night and we'll definitely be back. From 2-6, they have a "Six.50" menu. Everything is $6.50. We had bison sliders, calamari and shrimp cocktail. All three were EXCELLENT! I had the Appletini, then the Peachtini. They were average. I had the bread pudding for dessert, they were out of creme brûlée, and it too was very good. I had them warm it up and add ice cream. We ate on the patio overlooking the golf course. Ceiling fans and misters kept us cool. Met a great couple dining and they told us about the early bird special. Three courses for $11 before 5 pm. Ok. So, the Maze Stone is really the closest place from where we live to go for a nice dinner and drinks. So we keep trying to give it a chance. Last night, we went for the Prime Rib with 4 of our friends who we usually go there with. We arrived at 6pm. Since they took out the dining room setting and made it a cocktail are, they had to put four 24 inch square tables together in a row to seat us. Ok, I can live with that. When taking our order, they said they were out of their dinner rolls, but had some croissants. Well those came out, they were petite size. Stale and not good. We asked for some fresh ones, and they come out with larger ones sliced in half. Dry and no good. Ok, so we came for the prime rib. It is always pretty good. Four of us ordered medium rare and got it. However, two of our friends always ask for the end cut. Nope. They were out of that. Same couple asked for french fries. After they were half thru the server came by amd asked if she could get us anything. How about those fries. Oh. She will go get them. 10 minutes later they came. We are done eating by then. We ordered the strawberry shortcake for dessert. It was absolutely delicious. One point there. My question to the management of Soboba Maze Stone is this.....as I have said before, you have an awesome venue. Could be a big hit with us locals. Your food is typically great. Great selection. Your bartenders and servers are all sweet, but they do not pay attention to detail. Train them, so that they keep their jobs, but lets get this place on track. I was a fan of the restaurant however the food has changed and so has the service. I usually paid cash but for our holiday party, I charged to get rewards. The $840 bill for 35 people had 18% gratuity added on then taxed. Ouch! I actually thought the 18% a bit high for Sunday Brunch. I returned again with friends for Sunday Brunch, the Prime Rib was raw, the fish prepared in curls that took a knife to cut and the Dessert Bar in shambles! Our plates were not cleared plus no refills on our Mimosa's! Had to hunt someone down for a bill. I charged it again forgetting about that gratuity. When I got the card statement, no rewards $$$$$. What? Spent over $850, what gives? Upon inquiry, it's not a registered restaurant, it charged under the Country Club. I phoned, reported my issue to a polite lady who said she would give it to the manager of the Country Club (that person was in a meeting) and was told I would get a return call and have not heard one peep from them. No clarification call, no this is our policy call, no call saying let me dig deep into this. Management customer service is a reflection of the wait staff service which shows in the food prep and presentation, which has been dwindling, in my opinion. Ok so the regular menu I would give them 5 stars. However the Brunch would be 2 - 3 ! Let start with the positive shall we...... The ribeye is amazing, every time I have had the ribeye it is always cooked right and so good. Monday night prime rib is also very good. The prices are fair to expensive. I would say that overall the food is great. Now for the not so positive..... They can be slow , very slow don't expect fast service. Even if they seem not busy , still don't expect fast service. The Maze Stone is a very nice restaurant in a scenic golf course setting. The happy hour from 2-6 pm is a great value with inexpensive appetizers and good beer, wine and spirit prices. The Happy Hour is great for golfers as the course is excellent too. Dinner prices are up there for the region but the food is good if you can afford it. read more

The ratings for brunch here are pretty much correct. The food is so-so. Some items are good and others fall short. The good: The service: I thought they were pretty on top of things. Food was cleared off the tables, champagne was poured and food was kept stocked at the buffet tables. The food: The lox, cream cheese bagels and shrimp. The prime rib. The breakfast potatoes. The bacon. The sausage gravy. The sweet and sour pork. The mahi mahi. The stir-fry vegetables. The waffles. The omelet station. The pies and hot cobbler. The beverages. The not so good: The biscuits (hard as a rock). The sausage (way under-cooked, got a raw spot in one). The shrimp fried rice (just make fried rice and leave the dry little shrimp out). The egg drop soup (lukewarm and no soy). The mini desserts (tasted stale). For a lower priced buffet it was okay. They really do try. I just think they could do better. They should get a pastry chef and do the desserts themselves. The thing that stood out to me was the service. They were very nice. That makes all the difference to me. Been wanting to go here with my family for a while now because of the great experience we had before. The last time we were here was 2013 when I surprised my wife with an awesome reception after our church wedding. Finally today after attending sunday mass at a church about 5 miles away from this restaurant i decided to take my family to have lunch. We arrived around 12:30pm. There were no other guests except for a group of 6-7 people in the dining area. We waited approximately 10 minutes before somebody approached us and greeted us once we were sitted. After another 5 minutes the waiter finally gave us water and menu. It took about 10 minutes again for the waiter to take our orders and then the waiting for food before it arrive took about approximately 40 minutes. Finally the food is here however my wifes order is wrong and they have to prepare a new sandwich for her which was surprising because it only took 5 minutes this time to arrive. My club sandwich supposed to have avocado but its missing. I never bother to ask for one anymore because my appetite is already gone. My mom and dads food is also soggy, fries is almost cold and not crispy anymore and my kids chicken tenders is too oily and does not look appetizing. The only food that i like was the calamari. But in fairness to the 3 servers they realized that we waited too long and they were apologetic about it and they even discounted my tab about 10 dollars but still too expensive for food that we got. Definitely will not comeback. The place itself is very nice and has a good ambience. I hope they improve their time management and customer service. read more

My wife and I went to this restaurant yesterday for ribs because we heard they were so great. This looks like a 4 star restaurant but the servers had tattoos on their necks, hands, etc. in the open. The flies were so bad they gave us a fly swatter. The ribs were great though. Nope. Don't think I'll go back there again until winter when all the flies are gone. Makes me wonder though. Seriously, it has gone down hill. FAST. Limited selection. Quality of food seems to be made up of frozen entrees, and pastries and desserts taste freezer burned. Yuck! The prime rib is very low quality beef with no taste except the overdose of salt and cheap seasonings. Shrimp cocktail is mushy. The salads are fresh but limited. As long as you don't see how many flies are landing on the buffet! What happened to the lovely cheese tray? That didn't last long.... The service is always 100 percent. Be careful when using a credit card at the Maze Stone, my wife and I were the victims of larceny and forgery on Valentine's Day. Her credit card receipt was forged after we left and money was added to it and the signature forged. We presented the problem to Kyle Harding, Banquet Manager after receiving her statement two weeks later. Mr. Harding could care less, he did not have the common courtesy to call or write to my wife and apologies. That was our last visit to the Maze stone. My family & I went to Mazestone for Fathers Day brunch.We were very disappointed with the food. Some of the food was cold when it should have been hot.No flavor to many of the items.Some of the meats were undercooked while some were very dry.(chicken) For what we paid we were very unhappy.The servers were very pleasant & took very good care of us.We were there at noon & the dining room was half empty.I wonder why,as they use to be packed for their special brunches.We have been going to their brunches for years & the last few years it has not been up to their usual standard. This past weekend we had a memorial dinner for my aunt at The Maze Stone. We had 20 people and we were seated in a semi-private dining area (no other diners were present at the time) so that we could stand up and tell stories and be loud with small children without disrupting other guests. We had a wonderful time. The staff and event coordinator went out of their way to make sure the memorial dinner was perfect. I couldn't believe the view and beautiful water features! Especially when I was pricing out other similar venues at Temecula wineries whose menus were twice as expensive. The view, ambiance, service, and food were all top notch. My husband and I had the filet mignon which was absolutely delicious. The prices really can't be beat. If you are out to impress on a budget, this is it. Highly recommended! read more

Yeah! After 30 years of visiting family in Hemet we have finally found a memorable place to eat. We're spoiled by living in Sonoma County. The decor was open and upscale lodge. The view overlooking the golf course was beautiful. Our server Andrea was attentive and delightful. The food was great! All four of us loved our meals. Steaks were tender with great sauces, salmon was amazing, vegetables were delicious and the salad was wonderful. We had the Spring salad with grilled peaches. Desserts were good but the wine menu keeps it from getting 5 stars. The prices were very reasonable. In my opinion this is the best restaurant in the Hemet/San Jacinto area!
