I had gone to The Master at arms over the years, but my most recent visit two months ago proved to be the most disappointing. As soon as I walked in the door, one of the workers was staring me down as if I had done something wrong. It made me very uncomfortable, and I just walked out. OK so we just recently purchased a Ruger .223 and a Smith and Wesson M&P 2.0 , my experience was fine I was greeted when I came in talked with the gentleman behind the counter he answered all my questions showed us the firearms check us out got us our ammo it was nice and easy of a transaction, I don't understand the other negative reviews for the most part it sounds like people didn't get greeted with a charismatic Starbucks environment an entertained, every single time I have gone into this place it's been fine I have never had a bad interaction with any of them, it's a gun store not Disneyland so don't expect to go in greeted with clapping and cheering lol this is a good store to get murch at for pahrump. read more

This is a revision of my review from years ago. I no longer recommend the Master at Arms gun shop. Since they moved from Thousandaire Blvd to Hwy 160 their customer service has dropped dramatically. I consigned a Colt Sporter for internet sale with them a while ago. The owner told me it would take a few weeks to list. After a months, I asked why it had not been listed and an employee told me the owner had been at an out of town gun show and would take care of it shortly. I waited another month before checking on the listing status. This time I was told the owner had just left on vacation. That was enough for me. After a two month delay I filled out the paperwork to return the rifle to me. I consigned it to Emmalee's Gun Emporium who did what they said they would do. Stay away from this shop. read more

They have no qualms whatsoever lying to customers. As you can see from another review here, they will lie and steal without looking back. My two experiences there were anything but stellar. The first one I was ignored while the guy behind the counter had a nice long chat with someone who was just shootin' the breeze. After 5 minutes, I walked out. At that point he called to me but I just said nevermind and kept walking. The second time was last year. I walked in asking about a holster for my Canik TP9 SF. He told me it was a piece of junk that I should get rid of, and if it ever broke, I'd never be able to get it fixed because they don't make parts for it. I don't know what kind of rubes he's used to dealing with, but I ain't one of 'em. I walked out and never looked back. Bad gun dealer! No cookie (or customers) for you! read more

BEWARE of this establishment - they do not honor the warranty for merchandise they sold, and told my husband to pack sand. The manager on duty today was aggressive and incredibly rude. An AR 10 we purchased would not eject, so we brought the gun into their shop where the gunsmith ignored it for 4 weeks. We took the gun to GEVAS Defense where their gunsmith looked at it and told us the gun was junk, and was misrepresented as a DPMS AR10. It is actually a poorly constructed weapon that has the wrong barrel, the wrong gas tube, and all of the outer parts are air soft parts. Master at Arms is 100% unconcerned. Today, the "piece of work" at the counter stood in an aggressive stance like he was going to draw the weapon on his hip, and told my husband to leave. He said the owner was not available and bluntly said they WILL NOT do anything about the piece of junk they sold. Yes, let the buyer beware, but businesses have a fiduciary responsibility to honor the warranty for merchandise they sell. There are far better gun and ammo stores in this town, I would steer clear of this place. read more

Me and my father went in looking for a forearm for his birthday and we weren't greeted upon entering. My father and I browsed around and showed interest in two firearms, we didn't feel welcome and were babysat the whole time. I tried asking the salesman about a few firearms and he was just blah no personality, So i went to Las Vegas to purchase a Glock from another dealer. Shame on MaStEr aT ArMS for the poor service. Been here a few times. Both times service was great. Picked up a holster for a MP shield. After getting home I realized how Much I over paid for it here. The holster is great but was over priced. Second time in I wanted to pick up a rifle but felt like the guy wanted to sell me something more expensive so I walked out. The third time there I was helped by the older lady. She was very knowledgeable and knew the answers to my questions. Honestly if I hadn't got her on the third try I probably wouldn't go back. I would recommend this shop but I would also say do your homework before spending any money. read more

Had several less than pleasant experiences there and will not go back. The "gunsmith" screwed up a very simple job on one of my guns and fixed it (kind of) so it wouldn't show without telling me about it. On another occasion I went in to sign up for a CCW renewal class, and the owner was totally immersed chatting with some talker who obviously wasn't going to buy anything. Although he did condescend to notice me, he indicated that I should wait until he was through with the talker (presumably as long as it took). I walked out and did the CCW renewal elsewhere. On a final occasion an employe gruffly processed the paperwork for a gun I ordered, blew off a simple question that I asked, and took off at the end like he couldn't wait to get away. My wife and I came in the store on11/16/2020 we were greeted right away on entry they had a decent amount of product there guns were reasonably priced for the most part. I asked the guy behind the counter a question about my pistol and he was very nice and seemed very knowledgeable in glock. He taught me something new I did not no about my glock thank you again for the info ! Ammo was the best price I have found in pahrump still a little pricey but who isn't now a days I will recommend you check it for yourself .. I will definitely be back !!! read more

Quick service, was looking for a g19 holster for a class and was able to get one in minutes for 25$. Small shop but they have some great selections. Large parking lot and fairly easy to find. Surprisingly there's not much gun shops in Pahrump, stumbled upon this one and it was a great choice. read more

I like these guys. You need to understand you really need to be sure of what you need verses what you want. These guys and gals know what they are talking about. The first thing I realized after moving here was we live very close to CA and that in itself brings very special experiences to the businesses here. The folks at Masters at Arms try very hard to see to your needs. I have purchased and sold several items through them. And I try to make sure of what I really want or need so I am clear before I walk through their front door. If I am not sure, I have found trying to make due won't work. And, remember, staff is only trying to help. Their motives are to get you what you want or "need" if you let them. You don't know what might have taken place JUST before you got there. They take a lot of crap. So, Don't give up. These are the good guys! That's about as PC as I can get. read more

My fiancee and I came into Vegas, from VA. to visit with her 81 year old father and tour their old stomping grounds in Vegas, Alamo and Pahrump just to name a few. We are still dealing with the trauma of discovering her dad had died 8 days before our arrival, alone in his home. As you can imagine our vacation and time with dad was turned upside down and regardless of our disbelief we needed to settle his affairs in less than a week, including sending back to Virginia his small gun collection. On July 8, 2014 I entered the premises of Master at Arms in Pahrump, NV. The two owners (I presume a man and a woman in their 50s) greeted me. I explained to them that my fiancee's father had suddenly past away. We had found him deceased in his house. It's been a traumatic ordeal settling his affairs in days rather than months. We needed to ship his gun collection out of state. Master at Arms came recommended as a good company to deal with...They gave us a hefty shipping charge. Not being a gun collector, I trusted their assessment of the weapons. In the whirlwind our minds were in we didn't catch some clues that we were being ripped off. For example, A Turkish-made Mauser issued prior to WWII by the Imperial Japanese army, in great firing condition, so said the man behind the counter, was only worth $100. A Barretta 22 Cal. only worth $60.00 (The lady mentioned that her husband had all the Barrettas in the series but that one). It should have struck me as odd that someone collects inexpensive firearms - but it didn't...we're racing against time to settle the estate and make the plane back home. The man then told me armor - piercing bullets were a big no - no with the government, but he would buy them and the cases of 45 caliber bullets for $15 AND "that there's no way to ship bullets cross state unless I owned an arms business" ...then they just stared at me... So, trusting their judgment and business fairness I sold them the Barretta, a 12 gauge, double-barrel, single trigger shotgun for $60 and the box of bullets for $15. Since my arrival I have found out the Barretta was worth over $400 and the Shotgun over $300. No telling what I got taken on the 100 + rounds of bullets. I called the lady on July 16, 2014 and asked to buy back the Barretta and shotgun and I would pay for the postage - she sternly refused and ended the call. Considering the very grim circumstances I trusted the arms dealer to be fair and honest - that's all anyone asks... In the end they stole from a dead man without remorse. They said they recently moved from California...hmmmm..... I hope that this fires you up, the reader, as much as it has us...to this date they have not sent us our shipment...when we called earlier last week the assistant clerk said, and I do not exaggerate ..." Holy F*** they charged you $160.00 to send two guns to Virginia???!!" This came from their own employee! They have our money, scammed us out of two weapons and have yet to pack the other two that they said we'd have by last Wednesday... I feel these people scammed us - STAY WAY! read more

Not a pleasant experience, I heard this was the place to go in Pahrump but after a rude reception I was not impressed . Good variety of firearms but WAAAAAY overpriced and not much in the way of ammo and quality accessories although they have lots of cheap stuff. I really felt as if they had better things to do and I was holding them up. I placed my gun for sale on consignment and agreed on a selling price of $549.95. Owner or manager, sold the gun for $525,00 without calling me to ask if I would accept that price. I was told that most people want their guns sold as quickly as possible and that a few dollars aren't important. Well, a few dollars are important to a senior on a fixed income. This gun store has an adiquate supply of rifle and hadguns and they also carry a selection of used guns. I have been in the store several times and was very surprised on how poor their customer service is. I do not believe they are woman friendly but that is my opinion. I had ask to see guns on a couple of occasions and felt like I was interrupting what they were doing. Their prices are very high and they carry very little in the way of ammunition choices read more

I have been to many gun shops in Vegas as well as the only other gun shop in Pahrump. This was by far the most knowledgeable gunsmith I have dealt with. He iwas honest and did not play any games. They had a nice selection of handguns and long guns. He fixed my two handguns in a timely manner. I brought in a rifle that was misfiring on a regular basis. I have sent all my friends and family to The Master At Arms. I drive over an hour from Vegas just to deal with the gunsmith and staff at The Master At Arms. If you want the a repair done in an hour or less then I will say go someplace else. The gunsmith does not do rush jobs. He does them right!!! read more
