Stay away from the egg salad sandwich. Don't hurt your stomach like that. Definitely not worth the pain.

Lots of good comfort food choices without being overwhelming. I got the baked chicken with green beans, carrots, and greens. My wife got the chopped beef steak with mashed potatoes and gravy plus a roll. We both did the LuAnn combo and tweaked it a little to fit what we wanted. The unsweet tea was spot-on! Everything tasted fresh, hot, and satisfying after a long day in the Medical Center area. What really stood out was the dining room staff. Friendly, attentive, smiling, and genuinely welcoming without hovering over you every five minutes. They made us feel at home, and tipping felt easy because the service was that good. The dining room was clean, peaceful, and honestly kind of relaxing compared to the hectic pace outside. The servers knew the menu well and were happy to answer questions. We always enjoy stopping here when we're in this part of Houston.

The food is really good -- comforting, flavorful, and feels like true home-style cooking. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. The fried catfish was perfectly cooked, the carrot salad was delicious, and the chicken was tender and seasoned just right. The service was outstanding (5/5). Friendly, efficient, and welcoming from start to finish. The atmosphere was clean and relaxed, making it an easy, enjoyable lunch spot. There's also plenty of free parking, which is always a plus. Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 This location is awesome -- simple, comforting, and consistently good.

Please note, this review is for a hospital cafeteria, and I'm basing it on the typical quality one…read moreshould expect from such a setting. It's only fair to evaluate this experience with that in mind, rather than comparing it to a high-end steakhouse. Thumbs Up: Location - Finding the cafeteria on B1 can feel like navigating a maze. However, you should be able to reach it from any elevator, and the directions are clearly marked at every hallway intersection. If you get lost, just ask someone who looks like they work at the hospital for help. Thumbs Up: Breakfast - The café offers a good variety for breakfast, including a yogurt station with customizable toppings, a grill for freshly prepared options, and a station with premade items. Thumbs Up: Breakfast - Prices for the breakfast items, especially the premade options, are very reasonable. Thumbs Up: Breakfast - The cheesy scrambled eggs are light and taste almost too perfect. Thumbs Up: Breakfast - I didn't try them, but they serve the biggest breakfast sausages I've seen. Thumbs Up: Lunch - There's an even larger variety for lunch, including a grill (burgers, fries, etc.), a sandwich bar, cafeteria staples, and some heavier options. Thumbs Up: Lunch - The mac & cheese was really good, surprisingly so. Neutral: Lunch: The spaghetti's flavor was okay, but it was very easy to eat--no need to twist it around the fork. Thumbs Up: Lunch - The dirty rice had a nice spicy kick I didn't expect. It could use a bit of salt, but that's understandable, considering it's a hospital and some diners are on restricted diets. Neutral: Dinner - I haven't been late enough to try dinner service, so I can't provide feedback on that.

They have a large selection to choose from. The problem is getting in there on their schedule…read more This morning I was a few minutes late because I was waiting to speak with the Doctor. When I arrived there were a line of people going in all wanting a breakfast item, as I was. There was plenty of food to choose from in the grill area, but they would not let us purchase it. Instead they were putting it in the trash. Why would they not continue to sell what was already prepared? They could just say we are preparing for the lunch and we only have what is here in front of you. When it is gone, it is gone and not in the trash. Just my comments, not sure they will make a difference.

Not factoring location into this review, but the cafeteria staff consistently maintains a clean environment, and the setup of the cafeteria allows large amounts of people to enjoy their meals without feeling the "bustle" that often plagues cafeterias. There is nice outdoor seating too, and a lot of it. I'm taking one star off because they close at 2! It would be nice to have the option for food items later in the day. Food: 4/5 There is a grill station, and make-your-own pasta station, a deli, a special entree section, salad bar, and more. The food is high quality for a cafeteria. I recommend trying one of their burgers with fries. They provide large servings that make the prices worth it. Service: 4/5 The staff is friendly, and I have never had a bad experience here. Food: the kebabs are freshly made to perfection, the chicken was simply amazing. That is seasoned and so tender and full of flavor. Simply amazing. The beef was good as well. Some of it was a little tough. I think maybe I have to go back and try that one again, but it was still good. I enjoyed it. We had two different hummus, they were amazing as well. I will say the naan bread didn't taste too authentic, I'm not sure if that's maid there. Maybe it came out of a bag I don't know, but that one was a little bit different. But all the vegetables were fresh. The kebabs were great. This is an easy five star review. The customer service is great. Everyone is really not working. I will definitely come back here again. Where can you get a chicken kebab with hummus for 10.99. Freshly made at that. Five star review. I'll be back soon

Let me start by saying I am a fan of at least two other Fadi's restaurants in the Houston area…read more This particular branch was not hitting on all fours however. My dining companion put it well,"The food was cooked as though they are following a recipe and only have a vague idea of what it's supposed to taste like." There were two of us, and we got chicken shawarma wrap, lamb wrap, fries, 1 drink, two half sides, and 1 baklava for about $50 USD at lunchtime. I do not think I have ever paid so much for so little. The meat had too many onions in it and was liberally seasoned with pepper, but they forgot the salt. The yogurt sauce had zero flavor. I almost think they just gave us plain yogurt with nothing else in it because the consistency was so thick. The chicken shawarma was dry. The pita bread was bitter and it did not taste at all fresh although it was only about noon on a weekday. I think this Fadi's must be one of those places that people only go to because it is convenient to the museums or their workplaces. The overall ambience was clean although the one person per bathroom with only 2 bathrooms total situation is not ideal given that one has to share with the staff. Finally, although the chicken shawarma table sign, they gave me stated 15 minutes to cook, it easily took 20 minutes. There were only four people ahead of us with only one of them getting something that took extra time to cook. Her sign said 8 minutes. I did not see anyone do a delivery order or pickup order while we were there which was about 40 minutes.Do they only have one grill then? The kale salad was only okay. The potatoes were dry and overly lemon flavored.

Total was $51.47. All I can say is..where is the salt?! Seasonings?! Love?! I regretted going in the moment I walked in, but I ordered anyways. The meatloaf was probably the best out of the 3 plates, and even that wasn't good. The roast beef was not good. Let me tell you, you can get a cheap cut of meat and still make it taste good. But this cut was cheap and not prepared correctly. It was a sad sad lunch. I got side eyes the whole time at lunch because I chose the lunch spot. The pies were good. Out of the lemon meringue and cheesecake, I preferred the lemon meringue. I would be surprised if they made the pies in house, because if they do, great for them. They should just be a bakery. I like my deviled eggs sweet so I asked her were they sweet and she keep repeating no no deviled eggs So I passed on them. I also got a wheat roll which was so old and hard when I pieced off of it , it crumbled The food was actually ok but not hot at all. The meatloaf plate was$11.50 and the spaghetti was $8.50. The decor was super old and brought back memories of my family going to eat after church on Sunday in the 80s. Would i go back here again I probably would. I'd just try something different.
