We ordered the potato salad, which is a fabulous mixture of bacon & ranch that was anything but your standard boring potato salad. We also ordered a pasta salad that we wanted to be light and refreshing with no mayonnaise. Cavatappi and vegetable pasta salad to the rescue! The cavatappi pasta with cooked perfectly and held up nicely to the balsamic vinaigrette, and was loaded with delicious tomatoes, zucchini, mozzarella balls, yellow, squash, spinach, and olives. Let me just say this that normally people are not taking home leftovers, but everybody was lining up to take the salads home. I stopped in at Annette's for breakfast recently. The place was steady with several groups of diners arriving for Sunday breakfast. Annette's seems like the place to be for locals from Constantia and Cleveland. I took a seat at an open table and the waitress arrived with menu. They had a few specials posted on the board and I ordered the Country Omelet Special ($9.99) and a glass of ice water. The food arrived hot 15 minutes later. The portion of food was filling, which was comprised of a folded soft egg sheet filled with shredded hash brown potatoes, sliced ham, onions, and topped with melted cheese (I chose pepper jack) and two thick slices of homemade buttered wheat toast, mixed fruit jam packets on the table. Breakfast was excellent and I barely finished my food. The service was courteous and I wasn't rushed. They make their own dressings and the blue cheese dressing alone will bring me back. The fries were also good, but the margaritas could use some work. The mix tastes like gatorade, so still drinkable, but if the homemade nuance from that crave-worthy blue cheese dressing could be applied, it would be a lovely elevation and bring me back more than my budget should allow. The music on Thursday at their first strings and wings was F*#$ing fantastic!! I did not catch the performers name, but folks, come with cash for tips because this artist brought his A game. Multi-genre, great guitar skills, and a fabulous voice. We sat in the dining because the bar area is a bit small for eating, but we could hear him perfectly and it made the night. This event with the crowd spread them thin and tested the kitchen, but besides a "relaxed" pace of the food coming out, there was no impact to service and everyone was lovely. We must support these local gems if we want them in our backyard.
