Very friendly, easy, helpful. I was sending a return and the company was provided a FedEx label and this company is close so I went there. They also processed my regular mail and even sell stamps...easy! They are also a UPS center so this also very handy. I plan to use them most of the time. read more

Organized, helpful and knowledgeable. I packaged many of my items prior to arriving and found that the prices quoted on the Fed-Ex website, and the prices given to me at the store were equivalent. Additionally, the staff was able to tell me what it would cost to ship the item via UPS, USPS, Priority, Standard, or Media Mail. (I had a lot of things to send and was looking for the best cost.) I was also able to have the items insured. It can add up if you are having a lot of items packaged. I was quoted $35 to package an awkwardly shaped item. I decided to go to Home Depot and find boxes myself. In the end, I spent $20 on packaging materials at Home Depot. I was glad to save the money, but could easily have spent the extra $15 to save myself from the worry. There was one mistake made with a box I sent via media mail, which required a P.O. box address, not a street address. The employee only put the street address in, and the item was returned. This was frustrating, but it did have a tracking number, so I was able to keep an eye on the package. The Mail Room called me when the package arrived back at their store, and took care of the additional cost to send it again. read more

This is follow up to a problem I encontered this weekend and I just wanted to lo let everyone know this is a crappy company. You have managers swearing at their customers, employees that dont have a healthy respect for doing their job becasue they know Les Grunduhl wont hold them accountable. By the way if you look at the history this buy has more bad marks than whats good. If I had only known. They caused me a vast fortune for the shipping end of things but I want to call your attention to something you might not know. The owner that isnt happy that I spend at least $600 a month, rather then reprimand his employess he encorages the "Customer is also wrong approach", a person should thing about how could he hurt me worse. It's because Grunduhl owns a doing evrything contracting company, including, windows, siding, etc......Im not gonna give this guy anymore free advertising. However you are doing home improvements make sure your not calling this buy. If everybody that sounds like their upset and in my case resolution said dont come back into the store what could they possibly do to your house. Forget to Caulk or use the spray foam insulation around the window? You get the idea. If he cant be a boss, or disclose to me that I had a right to file a $100 claim, or reimburse me for the stuff they packed that broke ( the old granny up there takes no ideas and your a troublemaker if you suggest a possible better way) what are they gonna do to the roof over your head??? Install a window so it will leak? Could be fine but why take the chance when there other other window installation companies. You dont. If he cant be in charge of 1 person how can he run a crew....he cant. I wouldnt let this guy ruin my house. Lets get this cancer out of our town. If you have problems start filing BBB reports. I am gonna request mine because nobody should have to deal with an "a**hole" like I had to. Bottom line do your homework because you dont want do have any buisness dealings with this guy. He has 2 companies and likely has more. Dont think his flashy little truck or trailers are a sign of success. read more

Sent a package on 11-6-19. Filled out "to and from" on a UPS form. I was told that USPS was least expensive means to ship. I was given a receipt; process took so long I didn't bother to look at it. I did so a week later. Saw that package was shipped to correct city in Oregon, but to wrong person at wrong street address. Went to The Mail Room. I was told that since package was sent via USPS, I needed to go to the downtown post office. I told person that reason I use The Mail Room was to avoid going to post office. Person did reimburse me for postage, but that was it. I called post office. They would have no tracking number because transaction went through The Mail Room. I called and was told no tracking number exists because I didn't pay for it; I only paid for the mailing. The service this company provides is abominable. Roger D. read more

I have shipped a number of items through this establishment, since they are the closet Fedex shipping center near. Until recently I always packaged and printed my own labels. Recently I had two larger items to ship that I could not find boxes large enough to accommodate said items. Both times I had them package items for me, they charged me 4 times the amount of the shipping cost that I expected from estimating it on Fedex's website. I thought maybe they were just charging a phenomenal amount for their labor, but when I look at each receipt, they have $5.00 listed for Packaging Services. To top it off their customer service is poor at best. Waited 3 hours my first time for them to package the item I wanted to ship. At no time did anyone suggest that I come back at later time. The first time, the manager was either eating lunch, while their hourly employee was getting waylaid by scads of incoming customers, or he was talking on his BlueTooth device to what sounded like his wife. The manager is either the owner's son or son-in-law. Nobody is that lazy without a touch of nepotism thrown in. My advice is to do your own packaging and purchase & preprint your shipping labels from Fedex directly. read more

Hated to give even one star. I called to find out what the upcharge would be to mail a package through them rather than the post office. I didn't need the exact amount but was looking for an estimate since it was in a more convenient location. Couldn't give a percentage or dollar amount for my size package over the phone. I had the weight and zip code it was going to. I asked if he could give me some sort of answer $2 or $10 or ballpark figure so I could decide if it was worthwhile to use their services. Then he finally said, it is based on what the post office would be charging them so I told him I had that. It would be $24.04. Well, guess what. He hung up!!!!!!! read more

As a small business owner that works from home, I ship a lot of packages. I've found the Mail Room to be an outstanding partner to handle all of my Fedex and UPS shipping needs. The staff is very attentive and polite and willing to help when I have a large number of packages. I have purchased some of our shipping supplies from them and found that the prices are comparable to other local shipping centers. I usually purchase shipping directly from UPS or Fedex through my account, but in a pinch have shipped through the mailroom. The prices were slightly higher, as they should be since my account offers me a business rate. I recommend The Mail Room to anyone asking where to go to ship a package. read more

It's unnerving to even give this establishment one star. Long story short....I inquired to have a package shipped overnight to Boulder Colorado. The counter attendant told me that it wasn't possible but he could have it there in two days, so I paid 19.00 and agreed to those terms. The package didn't show up in two days because it had been shipped by ground and not by air. I had the package returned to Duluth by FedEx and set up to be returned to my home address. The FedEx driver came and left because no one was home. The package went back to the Mail Room without notice. We called the Mail Room to get an update on the package and were told that the package was in their possession. We went to pick up the package and were told by the same counter attendant that there would be an additional $15.00 charge because the package was refused. (No one was home to refuse the package) On our first trip to retrieve the package, the counter guy was unwilling to take the hit and told us to contact FedEx. After stewing for a month I made a second trip with a full head of steam. Counter guy was still unwilling to take a hit to his bottom line, work out the details with FedEx, and have a somewhat satisfied customer. After 20 minutes of going around and around with counter guy, we asked if we could simply have the package back. He slid it across the counter and said "take it". No apology, empathy, courtesy, explanation, or kindness. There are other choices in Duluth, and Mail Room is no longer a choice for me. read more

The customer service at this establishment is poor. The employees seems clueless and SLOW! I have no idea how a business can succeed when the staff has no knowledge about the business and the work involved. Fortunately for me I have other mailing options. That being said, I will never do business here again. read more
