Love this place. If anyone has an opportunity to stop by, do yourself a favor and do it. The food here is wonderful and out of all the dishes, the General Chicken is my go to. This is probably my favorite place in Joplin for Thai food. I really like curry so that's what I normally get and it's always very tasty. My wife really likes the pad Thai and it is a huge portion so she always ends up taking about half of it home. I recommend you give it a try! read more

If you drive down Rangeline and see a big bowl of noodles in front of a restaurant, you're in the right spot. Every meal comes with a small side of salad drenched in their awesome house sauce; soup is served during lunch. I've never had a bad meal here and the food tastes the same for me for the past 3 years I've been there. For appetizers we would always order their crab rangoon which is larger than most of what I've seen at restaurants and is filled with a lot of cream cheese! My favorite dish is the Chicken Teriyaki Noodles but I occasionally get their Pad Thai as well. My hubby always orders their General Chicken and enjoys it very much. I went with a small group for Sunday lunch. I covered the check for 5 of us. Our check ended up being nearly $80, for LUNCH. Two of us split a dish, meaning we only ordered four entrees (that range around $10 a piece). When I went to pay, I questioned the amount about 3 times. Our waitress kept pointing to our ticket (a piece of paper with her handwriting) explaining that our check was, indeed, $67.05. After arguing for a few minutes, I decided to just let it go and figured that one of our entrees was much higher than the others. I left a 20% tip in good faith. Turns out, she had included a 20% tip already to our ticket without making me aware, and didn't proceed to tell me that while arguing about the total OR while she watched me do the math and write out the ADDITIONAL tip. This means that I left her nearly $25 for a tip for mediocre thai food and dishonesty. Food was okay, but nothing compared to Kinnaree or Thai Time. Definitely will not be coming back to a business that practices such poor customer service. Spend your money elsewhere. read more

Always a pleasant time whenever I visit. Service is quick, food is good. They start you off with a small salad with a tangy but sweet dressing. I have gotten the crab rangoons, which I'd have to say are the best crab rangoons in Joplin. I have eaten the chicken pad thai, tofu pad thai, and the chicken panang curry in all my visits total. The pad thai portions are large; I always end up taking enough home for the next 2 meals. The curry is delicious as well, slightly spicy and wkth the right sweet but savory flavor. read more

Magic Noodle is famous for having the huge dish of noodles out front of their building on Rangeline. Thai enthusiasts might be scared off by such a thing, but I assure you, the food quality is good. I have eaten many times at all of the Thai restaurants in town, and without question, Kinnaree is number 1. But if you want to try something different, or you don't want to drive to 32nd Street to visit Kinnaree, then Magic Noodle won't disappoint you. The broth was decent, the crab Rangoon was delicious, the sweet Thai sauce was good, the beef drunken noodle was good, and the chicken pad see ew was good. The pork pad see ew, on the other hand, was not burnt but it tasted like it was cooked in a burnt wok. I don't think the pork was grilled but maybe it was. It changed the flavor of the pad see ew drastically and was undesirable. I let my teenage son finish it because I didn't want to eat anymore of it. He didn't like the flavor either and he eats anything. I love Thai noodles and was disappointed. I don't send food back and I don't want a refund. Either you cook it well or you don't. I will not order the pork pad see ew there again. I'll just get the chicken pad see ew as it tasted as expected and three of my children liked it. read more

Lunch special starts with soup which is a veggetable soup. I had the pad see eww (thick white noodle) and I asked for it to be prepared spicy. They really mean business when you ask for spicy. We had to wait for a for our order and check, but the staff was not just sitting around the 2 were jumping keeping busy. The spring rolls were wonderfully crispy! Loved the salad dressing. The garlic & pepper entree was delish, I got the chicken and I ended up almost licking the plate. My dinner mate got the yellow curry which is a got to favorite ate at many different Thai restaurants and he thought it was great. It ranked up there with his favorite Thai restaurant spots. Magic Noodle is one of my favorite Thai places to eat in Joplin. When they first came to town the place was packed and it took forever to get your food. I was even at a table where 4 people had their food and 30 minutes later the other 3 got theirs! 6 years on, and that doesn't occur anymore. Their staff is friendly and attentive. I wouldn't expect to get in and out in 30 minutes, but if you have an hour, you will have plenty of time for good food and a pleasing atmosphere. One of the best parts of the meal is their salad. Comes with every meal and has one of the best dressings around. The golden pouches, crab Rangoon, and the lettuce/shrimp wraps make great appetizers. My personnel favorites for entrées would have to be the General Magic Chicken, Pad Thai, Chicken and Shrimp Stir Fry Glass Noodle, and the Mango Curry Chicken. Of all places, Thai food in Joplin, MO. Just proves that the U.S. is increasingly very diverse and people in the Ozarks can love Thai food just as well as in urban centers. Food is good (I had Pineapple Curry with chicken). Choices are broad. Good size crowd on a weekday evening shows it's a popular place. It's amazing how Joplin has recovered just three years after the great tornado. Would be interesting to know why Joplin made it and Haiti did not come back after the Hurricane. Lots of money given in both places. Was it corruption in Haiti that siphoned off the dollars? We drive through Joplin occasionally and will try this restaurant again. read more

We have been here two times in one month. We love it! The outside decor makes it look a little on the cartoony side, which made me doubt the quality of the food, but once I ordered and tasted it, I was very pleased. I have ordered Ginger Perfect Chicken both times and it was awesome! The chicken is flavorful and tender. We also ordered the fried tofu and crab rangoon's. I have to say that I was less than impressed with both of them. Specifically the tofu. It was tasteless. If the sweet/sour sauce was more of a peanut sauce I think that would help make it pop more in my mouth. read more

I ate lunch here on Saturday and it was wonderful. I had the panang curry with chicken. It was just the right amount of spicy. I tried this place for the first time yesterday and it was just okay. I did a to-go order of tom kha kai (a coconut soup with veggies and chicken) and crab rangoon. While I did enjoy the rangoon, the tom kha kai was a bit too spicy and lacked a rich coconut flavor that I am used to. The Rangoon were big and an ordered came with five so definitely bang for your buck. They were fried to a nice golden crisp and had a ton of filling so I would definitely recommend those. They also came with a sweet and sour dipping sauce, but I preferred eating it without it since it made them taste very sweet. I can't say much about the service other than over the phone they told me it would take thirty minutes. So I came in after thirty minutes and it was ready to go so I thumbs up to that. I will probably come back for dine-in and try one of their noodle dishes next time. read more

We've driven by this place a thousand times, but had never tried it. Today, we decided to try someplace new so we stopped. We were not disappointed. The food was great! I did expect a little more spice (I ordered medium spicy). Everything seemed to be very clean, organized. It was a nice atmosphere. The service seemed a bit slow. There were only two waitresses working all of the tables in the dining room. The staff was very friendly. It's the best Thai place in town!!!! I always get the chicken lo mein, fried spring rolls, and house soup. I'd recommend going for lunch (M-F) because the prices are much cheaper and you still get a good sized portion. Service is ok, but the food definitely makes up for it.
