The Loop has resurrected! After closing almost a decade ago, The Loop has reopened on Fleming Island. It's now located in the new plaza by Maple Street and the soon-to-come Fresh Market. We came just a few days after they opened and there are still some kinks to work out. e.g. There were 2 open registers yet only one seemed to be taking orders. The other girl didn't ask for the next person in line nor did she seem to make eye contact with anyone. But while we were waiting for the family in front of us to finish ordering, the dude in line behind us walked up to her and she took his order. Huh!? Super weird. My daughter and I both got the salmon sandwich and ate it sans bun; her's regular salmon and mine Cajun. My hubs got the Mushroom & Swiss burger. The salmon was absolutely delicious! It was juicy and fresh. My husband told me his burger was good; it looked juicy. My daughter and I both got the housemade chips as our side item, however I paid an up charge for the Bleu Cheese chips. They came out burned and I had my hubs take them back and ask for a new order, which they forgot about and it took my hubs going back up to the counter and inquiring about them. However when we got them! So delicious! That bleu cheese topping would be good on a steak. There seemed to be thyme on the chips which complimented the bleu cheese well. It was extremely busy for a Monday, granted they just opened, but I think The Loop will thrive on the Island and hopefully not close again! read more

Not always amazing like the original Fleming Loop, even the one on Wells is better just not as pretty. The pizza sauce is diff, very strong herb taste, and our table today stayed full of dishes til we left...dont even ask me about the sandwich which made me throw up while there-and I only ate 1/4...it was cold inside, and the wheat bun was so hard i hit it on table to show fam. We took it back, asked for pizza instead. Gave me kidsize pizza to replace my $9 returned sandwich. Kids meal is $4.99 with a drink [which I wadnt given a drink cup so prob cut that price in half again lol], portabella sandwich $8.99 you do the math. it was pretty empty at dinner time...only 2 other tables in there. We went here Friday night and it was the worst experience I've ever had at the Loop. They had one register open and a long line. Our food took over 45 minutes to receive and when we did, we were short one entree and one was wrong. There were tons of people standing around in frustration also waiting on food for unreasonable amounts of time. We asked for a refund and so did several others. They should be better prepared on a Friday night to serve customers quickly and correctly. I doubt I'll ever go back. read more

My cousin, her boyfriend and I all got take out from here. We live about 15 minutes away and when the food got here it was still hot. The only complaint was when we first opened the box and each person only got five onion rings. I feel like that's being a little cheap with it. We all ordered burgers and all of them came out exactly as we ordered them. I asked for medium-rare and my burger was pink in the center and had a beautiful char on the outside. The burger I got was the BBQ burger with cheddar, grilled onions, and mushrooms. The b tasted delicious it was well seasoned and it had a lot of portion my cousin got a regular cheeseburger it was cooked perfectly and it had an amazing flavor. Her boyfriend got this Swiss and mushroom burger and he said that it had a ton of mushrooms and the burger was delicious. The onion ring batter was really good it is nice and crispy, salty, and the onion was perfect. We all said we would be back to try some other items off the menu! read more

So I have an issue. Is it okay for the cooking staff to have on gloves but using their phones and then touching people food? Is this sanitary? There were two kitchen staff doing that and felt no kind of way that a customer was watching. The outside seating is terrible. Bright, reflective tables on the south side of the building. Has any manager here ever tried sitting at one of these tables during lunch time? Nothing but glare. Add an awning, get better tables or do something. I can't help but think that the owners must know about this problem. How could they not? The loop is a Stapel to my life. I can't live with out. Even when service is slow which is why it loses a star. They are usually slow or just eh but most of the time too the staff is super sweet and kind. That covers up for a lot of the EH. the food is amazing and you can get almost anything your little heart desires here from salads to the biggest burgers or pizza. Even some good ole loop chicken tenders. They have the best steak fries too. You can't go wrong with the milk shakes either. Everything here is pretty darn good ! I always come when I can cause i grew up eating here and it's worth every penny ! Easy ordering. read more

We ordered dinner from The Loop through GrubHub. This is the 2nd time in 3 deliveries where the food delivered was terrible. It wasn't a GrubHub issue, the food was the issue. This time, all 3 burgers were prepared wrong. Mine was so overcooked that it crunched when I tried to eat it. Crunched! It was completely black and charred. I just couldn't eat it. This is the 2nd time, in 3 deliveries, where I just threw it away instead of eating it. It was that bad. I don't find wasting my money funny. After the 2nd time that I went without dinner, I have decided there will not be a 3rd. I called the store both times. This last time, it was for the sole purpose of letting them know that they have lost a customer for good. I strongly recommended that they establish some sort of quality control. Someone should check the food before it leaves their store. Hopefully, they'll change what they're doing. It clearly isn't working. Burgers: Burgers are decent in flavor but rarely cooked correctly based on the order and the special burgers lack imagination, way to overpriced for what they are. Seriously need to step it up if they want to compete with other restaurants on the island Pizzas: Easily the worst pizza on the Island and perhaps ever. It's clear that no one in this company is trained in dough management, nor can they even correctly make them. No cheese lock, every slice doesn't have every topping included on the pizza and the dough is frozen (which is fine) but clearly not rotated correctly. Shame on you. Shakes: Unimaginative but decent, probably the only thing that is worth the price. Salads: Probably the only thing on the menu where Corporate took more than five seconds to come up with, so good job. The salads are really the only decent thing on the menu and if it wasn't for them, this review would easily be 1 star. The staff is very friendly to say the least, don't seem to stand by their employees or product though as they will remake your meal, refund your food and even give you 15 dollars off your next visit if you complain about anything. Clearly they need a bit more training as I don't know how they make money. Also, noticed someone in a manager outfit taking a tip off of a table? I'm assuming he gave it to the proper employee but if not absolute shame on management. We came here on kids eat for $1 night for the very first time. There was a tiny bit of a line but understandable whenever there is a discount. We ordered the blue cheese chips, pizza for the kids and salads for the adults. Blue cheese chips were decadent but delicious...and there was enough where we didn't feel too full for our entrees. When we picked up our entrees we were charged and served for a cheeseburger that my husband had took off the initial order. It did take a little bit to rectify our bill but all was fixed. I had the goat cheese salad with grilled chicken and my husband had the Gorgonzola (or perhaps it was blue cheese) salad with Cajun chicken. I LOVED my salad...practically licked the bowl and used not even a tenth of my salad dressing (just didn't need much with the tang of the goat cheese). Husband cleaned his plate but thought the Cajun chicken was a little salty. Kid pizzas were actually really good; not the typical stuff. Kids ate their weight in pizza. All in all it was a good experience and we'll go back. read more

My recent visit to the new Fleming Island Loop was mostly good. My burger tasted just as I expected, the location itself is super cute, and the service was good. Unfortunately my burger was very slow to come out (compared to the Loop I typically visit on Southside). My friend ordered a wrap which came out relatively quickly but my burger took quite a bit longer (about 25 minutes). It didn't ruin the experience but can make a meal with a friend a little tricky. read more

I understand that lunch rush can destroy a restaurant but when you arrive at 2pm and can't find one single clean table in the entire restaurant while staff is standing around and only two tables are occupied is unacceptable especially more so after learning the general manager was in house. I felt so uncomfortable I as for my money back while sharing my concerns with the GM...his response was they just had a big rush. So...I went to another restaurant nearby and it's clean with six tables occupied. I was SO happy to see The Loop in Fleming. In the past, no one could beat their tomato bisque! Since my husband and I always have lunch out on Saturdays, we thought that we'd try the new Loop. We were anticipating the tomato bisque and I was looking forward to the portobello sandwich as well. Our money would've been better spent at ANY of the restaurants in that general area. First we were waited on by a stony faced young lady who seemed more interested in perfecting her look of disinterest than greeting anyone. And let me just say here that there were only maybe 7 other people in the whole place. So we're not talking about a crowded and rushed situation. We ordered our soups and sandwiches, she took our payment, pushed one of the "buzzer" things toward us with the receipt tucked under it and walked off. Not willing to judge the whole experience by the sour "greeter", we shrugged it off, went and got our drinks and sat down. After about 15 minutes of waiting, the buzzer finally went off so my husband got our food. The bisque was ok. It was tepid and rather bland. So we moved on to our sandwiches. Again, the food was tepid so we wondered how long the food had sat before they realized that it needed to go to a table. One of my favorite things in the past was the garlic mayo that comes with the portobello sandwich. The mayo looked weird to me but I figured that they just changed the recipe. One of the boys working there wandered over and asked to take our bowls. We said yes and I asked for a knife to put the mayo on my sandwich. As I waited, I dipped a fry in the mayo and found it to be sweet and not at all garlicky. It had a brownish tint to it so I, rather stupidly, assumed that perhaps they changed it and were adding balsamic vinegar to it or something that would give it the color and sweetness. We watched the boy meander around the seating area, making two rounds, before my husband got up to go get me the knife I requested. About halfway to the counter the boy suddenly said that he had forgotten. Now as I said, this wasn't a busy time, the boy was just wandering around and yet a simple knife request couldn't be remembered. So, knife at the ready, I finally am able to put the mayo on my sandwich. My husband, meanwhile, struggled to keep his chicken sandwich together as he ate it. The bacon was obviously greasy when put on the sandwich so it was a soggy mess. My sandwich just tasted odd with the weird mayo, our fries were barely warm and had the consistency of having been reheated. My husband reached for the salt to maybe give it all a little flavor because the whole ordeal was rather tasteless (aside from the sweet mayo!) and that's when we saw the little disposable brush/floss thing on the table that was between/behind the salt and pepper shakers!!! Disgusting!!! This just showed me that when they wipe a table down, they don't move things around, they just wipe what they see. That was it for me. I was grossed out and done. The music was obnoxiously loud for so few people in the lobby, the food wasn't great, the food was tepid, the staff was sullen and NOW, used dental pieces on the table! I left a note on the table next to the toothbrush telling them that they needed to clean better and we left. A few hours later, my stomach became upset and I spent Saturday night my whole Sunday sick. NEVER again. Never. And it's so very sad because The Loop USED to be good. Amazingly good. And now it's just another sloppy, gross, unclean fast food place. read more

Not that impressed. Food was ok but very greasy. It was very loud. We ordered 4 hamburgers and it came out to 50 dollars. Each one of us had fries. They had no flavor. The bacon barely looked cooked. Over priced to say the least. $28 for a burger and chicken sandwich with soda and shake. For that price they could actually bring the meal to me, but no, you get a beeper to be summoned to them. Get your own drink and please grab (real metal) silverware from our lovely dirt filled containers right where everyone passes. I about choked looking down into the nearly empty silverware containers. It is a catchall for every bit of dirt imaginable. Very clear the location was not thought through, because the silverware containers are filthy, not to mention right next to people's hair who sit in the first booths. Speaking of dirt,don't look up. This store has been here a year or so, and the whole ceiling is covered in dust and dirt (maybe a year's worth). I guess they did not have a plan to keep that cool style of construction clean. Maybe they could have painted it a dusty gray to camouflage it, or maybe get a ladder and a duster. I even think they may extended handle dusters for high places. This is second time here, and only go because dragged in by my wife who just wants something different since Fleming Island is still short on choices...but if I had my choice it would not be here! read more

I'm so excited to see that The Loop has finally come back to Fleming Island after being on a hiatus for several years. Today was my first visit, and I had a very pleasant experience. The wait in line moved very quickly, so it didn't take long for me to order my meal. After ordering, finding a seat was actually quite easy. I can't believe how quickly those seats quickly cleared out, and how quick the staff was to clean them. It only took about 5-7 minutes for my food to come out. Considering how busy it was in the restaurant, the wait time was more than excellent. And of course, the food came out fresh and hot. I got to say, the employees have definitely been trained extremely well to provide a very successful service on opening week. Excluding The Loop, other new restaurants that I go to that have recently opened up sometimes take a while for their service to get up to par. Here at the Fleming Island Loop, they meet my expectations right on the nose. Keep up the good service, and I'll definitely be keeping on coming back soon! read more

I hope you don't want to customize your order any because this food is not made to order. I asked to have a Caesar salad without the cheese and was told it's already mixed in the dressing but "you can't really taste it." I'm pretty sure most people who ask for cheese to be left off isn't because they don't want to taste it but because they aren't wanting to eat cheese for health or dietary reasons. So I was already irritated that I couldn't get my salad and then came the wait. We went for an early dinner and we were the only people waiting for our food (other than a few to go orders) and we waited for about 25 minutes. I'd hate to see their ability to produce food when that place is crowded. I did give it 2 stars because the burger and fries I got tasted good. However it's probably a good thing I didn't get a salad since my husband got one and it didn't look how their salads normally look and my husband didn't like the way it tasted. read more

I can't say anything negative about this location. I got the BBQ Bacon Cheddar Chicken sandwich, and the chicken was amazingly seasoned and not dry at all. They had men walking around pre-busing and cleaning tables off to make sure arriving customers didn't have to look for a clean table. The girls at the front had great friendly attitudes. It wasn't terrible but wasn't up to the Loop I'm used to. My Cajun chicken sandwich was way over charred and the chicken was dry. I also ordered bleu cheese chips and they were lacking on the sauce, most chips didn't have any. Also, I got a side salad and when I started mixing it up, the lettuce was wilted and had even left residue that bad lettuce creates when it has been sitting for a while. read more

Unfortunately it seems as time goes on this restaurant's service declines. My experience yesterday was sub par at best. My boyfriend and I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and a bowl of onion soup to go at 6:06 and we didn't receive our order it 6:40. We had to go up to the counter and ask where it was only to see that it has been sitting at the pass for more than 20 minutes. When I got my soup home I opened it and there was no cheese or croutons (which is how it would usually come if you ordered it to dine in). As a former restaurant manager myself I can see that the lack of communication between staff is bringing this place down. The cashiers weren't helping with expediting even though hot food was waiting to be put out. Cooks were walking around with one ear bud in and there was one poor guy at the pass who had to push food out and luckily he found our order for us. Who ever owns this location needs to emphasize the importance of communication. Regrettably I will not be returning nor recommending this restaurant. read more

I like it here, but I don't have the time to wait 40 minutes for a sandwich with all the other options around. Hopefully this will improve. read more

The wait was entirely too long and then, the burgers came out looking like they'd been in an incinerator! Management was non-existent with a bunch of kids working. The young girl behind the counter said "they aren't professionals and they are just learning how to cook. They probably wanted to make sure the burger was cooked." This was our first visit here and I feel like it had the potential to be great, but sadly, it fell short. Starting with the wait...There were only two customers ahead of us and one order taker/cashier. And It took a lot longer than it should have. Granted, both my husband and I were holding our squirming babies so that made it feel even longer, but even without our kids, I still would've undoubtedly been annoyed. After the long wait in the short line, then we had to wait for our food. I found myself wishing we had just gone to Panera as they usually have shorter, quicker lines, or even gone to a sit down restaurant, because all the waiting would've been the same, only we would've had the luxury of sitting down while waiting to order. Beyond that, when the food finally arrived it was okay. My husband was pleased at the value of his small pizza and the kids seemed content with their basic kraft Mac n cheese. My salad was good, (except they were out of the dressing it was supposed to come with) It was a very large amount of kale and the small ramekin of substitute dressing barley made a dent. I needed to go to the counter 3 times for more to even begin to taste it in the salad. The worst part, however, is that they were out of forks for the first 15 minuets of receiving our food. The guy at the counter told me that they were being washed and the look on my face was a frustrated one... I think he held it against me because when I went back for more dressing, he had a little attitude towards me. The ambiance was nice, and modern but casual with good music that wasn't too loud, so no complaints there. They had high chairs and boosters so that was good for our family needs. read more

The good news is that the food is decent, and if you're a fan of The Loop based on visits to other locations, you'll probably enjoy your food. However, that alone is not going to cut it. We've been there at least 3-4 times since they opened this location. On nearly every occasion, the service was slow. Like, 20-25 minutes for a basic cheeseburger. Once they were totally out of drink lids. That's odd. This last visit? They were out of NAPKINS. There are certain things you do not run out of when you're a food establishment. Non-perishable items like napkins...cups...lips...running out of these is unforgivable, and quite frankly, a head scratcher. Running out of a particular type of cheese for a day...? Maybe. But running out of napkins when your main dish is burgers is like serving salads without forks. The management/owners of this location need to get their act together. The food is good, the place is reasonably clean, but it is staffed by kids and run by kids right now. You could do pretty well at a Sonic and get plenty of napkins... read more
