You'd think a place called The Log Cabin would serve real maple syrup -- you know, the kind that comes from trees, not a chemistry lab. Instead, they brought out that neon corn syrup impostor that tastes like it was designed to fuel a tractor, not top a pancake. One bite and my whole lumberjack fantasy came crashing down. Honestly, it's like building a beautiful cabin... and then putting plastic logs on the outside. If they ever ditch the fake syrup and go legit with the real maple stuff, I'll be back with bells (and flannel) on. We were in town for a funeral and quickly realized there aren't a lot of dining options to choose from in the area. With that said, The Log Cabin turned out to be an excellent choice. I believe if we had multiple options, we would still choose this place. The food was generous and tasted great. We started with the fried mushrooms. They were perfectly fried and flavorful. We weren't sure if the dressing was homemade and forgot to ask. It was thick and very good. My husband ordered the Icelandic fish which ended up being a huge piece of fried haddock. He was very pleased. The fish was flaky on the inside with a tasty fried batter on the outside. I ordered the baked meatloaf with the gravy on the side since I wasn't sure if I would like it with gravy. Ended up pouring the gravy on because it was a good combination. The dinners come with a few sides. They were supposed to be served with dinner rolls which we didn't receive but we were so full we didn't miss them. We also ordered a meatball sub to go for our son who did go with us. He also enjoyed his meal. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are generous. We were traveling through this area and we're looking for a place to eat when we stumbled upon the log cabin restaurant. Atmosphere is good with plenty of seating, super friendly staff, I decided to go with the special of the black and blue sirloin. My daughter got the taco salad, and we had an appetizer of pizza rolls. At the end of the meal we only had one disappointment, and that was that they had already run out of the banana cream pie. My mother told me this is a beloved local spot that always seems to be busy no matter what time of day it is, hearing something like that means the food has to be that straight scorching fire! On New Years Eve, mine and my daughter's last day of our vacation I decided to take her and my mother out for breakfast to this local favorite spot. As we pulled the parking lot was plenty packed so I anticipated a bit of a wait to be seated however when we entered the restaurant I observed there was far more seating available then expected and we were seated almost immediately. It was still decorated for Christmas with a great big Christmas tree which we were seated near. It felt inviting just like home. Our server who was very friendly brought us our menus and took our drink orders which came shortly after. We perused the breakfast menu which while not terribly large had enough options to choose from. Our server came back and took our orders. By then the restaurant was starting to get a bit packed but it wasn't loud which I was thankful for. The table next to us got served their breakfast and we could all see how generous the portions were and after that we were really looking forward to getting served our breakfast! Moments later our server returned with our breakfast and HOLY FLAPJACKS BATMAN WERE THOSE PORTIONS GENEROUS! My daughter ordered Chocolate Chip Pancakes, they were thick and loaded with chocolatey goodness which brought a smile to her moody teenage face, with it she got Hash browns and bacon. I heard no complaints from her which means she was loving it! My mom has Celiac Disease so as such has to watch what she eats so she chose the Cheese and Bacon Omelette with a side of hash browns which she too enjoyed! Now onto me, one thing you must know about me is that I'm a big ol' boy that loves to eat and breakfast is one of my favorite things to eat whether it is in the morning or at night so I went with the Deluxe Breakfast which came with Eggs, Hash Browns, sausage patties and Pancakes but I also ordered an extra side of hash browns and two Biscuits. So let's get into my meal. The eggs, which I ordered scrambled were fluffy and had a good punch of flavor to them and were not overly greasy. The Hash Browns had a nice crispness to them and were salted to perfection. My sausage had a nice bite to them while also not being too overly salty. The Pancakes were large and fluffy and a pleasure to eat! My biscuits were buttery and a good moist bite! About $50+ was happily spent and the 3 of us walked out of The Famous Log Cabin very full and satisfied! You have wonderful homestyle food that is moderately priced and wonderful staff and your dining room has a nice warm inviting home like feel to it and that is what will keep me coming back again and again when I'm in the area! I look forward to my next visit and getting to try more of what's on the menu! read more

Cannot fathom any for profit business managed in this manner. Does not inspire confidence or loyalty to this place. Horrible service. We got sat at our table and it was only when I approached the hostess 15 minutes later that no server has come to wait on us. Then when a server did come over, he did not apologize but was rude. Several servers were standing behind the counter as they were not busy. He then did not check on us until he delivered our food and then did not refill our drinks (which we asked when de delivered the food) until he came back with the check and we were all done eating. Very poor service. The food was not good either. Hashbrowns were burnt. Would not recommend eating at this place. Unless you have 2 hours to kill and like horrible service. After a long bike ride on the Oil Creek State Park biking trail the Log Cabin served up a delicious lunch. The restaurant is large and open inside with tables to accommodate parties of 4 and larger. The staff and friendly and well informed on the menu. All in our party enjoyed their salads. Fresh, large and tasty. We had the steak salad and chicken salad. The dressings on the side seemed to me home made. The showcase of luscious deserts were tempting but we declined, maybe next time we will start with dessert. Prices are reasonable. Bland food. Microwaved heated up. I came at 1:30 pm. Maybe the wrong time for me to come. I am not a regular... so not really paying attention to me. No tea refills. Had to ask for my roll that came with my meal. The roast beef was so fatty. Looks burnt but didn't taste burnt. I had to put lots of salt and pepper to get any flavor. Please folks do not order the stroganoff. Tit sits in ur stomach like a rock and it hardly has meat or sauce with it. Dry stroganoff is not enjoyable. Now for their specialty: Friday's all u can eat fried fish. That's the ticket! U'll love this this and it's worth waiting on that night and worth the money! The fish just melts in ur mouth. Hello! I just went here for the first time, and I was nervous about prices. Not very expensive at all for a fancy restaurant like this!! I am so shocked at how GOOD the food was. The food was amazing, and the cheese melts in your mouth! The service is the most shockingly good. The cooks only take about 10 minutes for a family of four dinner! They apologize for having us wait for only ten minutes! Any other restaurant I have ever went to takes forever to serve a single person! And the fact that this place had a big amount of people and still fast service is just ridiculous! The decor and the lighting was what made the vibe so comfy! The seats where comfortable, and they were wooden! I was so shocked about how beautiful it was in there. The kitchen is SO CLEAN! I sat next to the doors of the kitchen, and when they opened the doors, it is absolutely spotless in the kitchen! I didn't feel worried about how the food was going to taste because how clean it was!
