Side Salad
Ryan O.

What can I say about the Valley Dairy? It's food, it's clean, and they accommodating my request for extras. But all of those things I just mentioned or the standard for any restaurant if they hoped to even be considered OK. My order was taken quickly I do not feel as if I've been ignored and my food was hot and arrived in a timely fashion. The food tasted ok for it was not repulsive, but it was a little bland and institutionalized and taste. What I mean by this is that it felt as if the Chicken breasts I was eating came from a factory and were portion controlled, they were too uniform in their shape and weight not to be. Also, you can tell by the moisture the texture of the chickens that this particular chicken was on the lower end of of the industrial process, a lower grade of chicken. The vegetables were of course frozen and it would not surprise me if the breadstick was also frozen, but I did not eat the bread stick. The side salad was OK, but it is really difficult to mess up a salad. I couldn't help over hearing a few customers complaining about the soup's, for their selection of soups that evening was different than what they had advertised for they had gone through their " bags of soup" Earlier in the day. So if you had high hopes of homemade soup I would hate to disappoint you but it would appear that it arrives frozen as well. Although I did not order their ice cream, it appears that this place is famous for it or corporate places emphasis on the ice cream portion of the business, but it doesn't appear to be an exclusive ice cream stand, so it's pretty confusing what their emphasis is. They must be doing something right, for while I was there several people had ordered some type of ice cream dish. I only know this because I was stationed/seated by the cash register and the ice cream mixer so my dinner was frequently interrupted by the sound of an ice cream machine going off at a blender mixing. My take away is that this place would be good to take grandma and grandpa to or the kids, because the portions are very small for what you pay for and the quality of the food just isn't there. Is it edible? Yes it is edible, but it's largely forgettable and you will be hungry after you leave. Well I would go back, because it wasn't that bad, I just wouldn't order a dinner maybe a sandwich? But all in all given the area you really don't have very many options down there and this option will do in a pinch I suppose. But if you're looking for a place to take a girlfriend/wife out to, or a place that serves fresh ingredients and offers ample portions this place is not for you.

I do enjoy coming here. The food is always good and the servers are some of the most pleasant I have ever had.

Waitress didn't know her head from her ass. Manger was worse than the attitude of the waitress.

This restaurant is unassuming yet absolutely amazing! The quality of the food was surprising, many…read morerestaurants today are nowhere near as fresh or as good or with portions this large. And don't get me started on the price, if you can find any restaurant with food this good at a price point close to this, I will fight a bear. Yes, you show me what I described above, and if the food is better for around the same price, I will fight a bear. Lucky for me a restaurant this good, that is this inexpensive, only exists at 106 E State Rd, in Seneca PA. The service was wonderful, very sweet and attentive. I asked lots of questions and our waitress was able to educate me on the hamloaf. Definitely worth a try and melts in your mouth. If you didn't pick up what I just put down. This is the best hearty food restaurant with the best price point anywhere, and I will fight a bear to prove it. The food is out of this world!

Plus the prices are good too!! Very happy and will certainly be back soon!

We were in the area after visiting Buttermilk Falls and searched for a local place to have lunch…read more We decided on Griffith Tavern, and it turned out to be another great find. One of the things I love about traveling through the countryside is that so many of the restaurants are locally owned family businesses. There isn't a chain restaurant in sight, and each place has its own unique charm. Everyone was so friendly. A gentleman who came in to pick up a takeout order noticed our bikes and asked if we were the ones riding the Ghost Town Trail. We ended up having a wonderful conversation, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The service was good. It wasn't exceptionally fast, but that's part of the charm of a small-town, family-owned restaurant where everything is made to order. The prices were very reasonable, especially compared to where I'm from. The sandwiches don't come with a side, but that was perfectly fine with me since I usually skip the fries anyway and opted for a side salad instead. I ordered the Honey Hot Chicken Wrap and chose the grilled chicken rather than fried. The wrap was enormous--a very generous portion. It was delicious! I was a little concerned that the "hot" might be too spicy, but it had just the right amount of heat without being overpowering. Everyone in our group raved about their meals, and we all left full and happy. If you're exploring the area or riding the Ghost Town Trail, I definitely recommend stopping at Griffith Tavern for a meal.

Delivered back to me with a sharp drop of the plate in front of me, without a word. I'm not claiming bar food should be a 5 star experience but I actually do require meatloaf/mashed-potatoes/gravy to be hot. I don't think that's asking a lot. I could definitely have done without the attitude. I could have excluded the COLD Mac n cheese. I sent 60 percent back with the waitress and I SEVERELY HATE wasting food! This doesn't sit well with me!
