Went there the last week. Payed $15 cover + $4 coat + $8 beer. I would expect a huge party with nice people... I became disappointed, only techno music and super weird people. read more

I have visited The Loft twice now and was not disappointed either time. I will write about my most recent time here for the Infrasound New Year's party. When first arriving at Bar Fly, it's a bit confusing about which line you have to get into in order to get to The Loft. However, the doormen were helpful in getting my friend and I to the right place. There is a coat check at the entrance, but I think it's worth it so you don't freeze on the way to or from the venue. I think I ended up paying about $7 for two coats. Being from Georgia, I don't know how much coat checks are usually supposed to cost, so I'll let you be the judge of that. The Loft is very spacious and allows you to bring hoops, poi, etc. into the venue without any hassle. Even with the number of people there for New Year's, there was still plenty of room to move around in. Any type of lights are allowed and there are free earplugs at the bar (note: I learned that all night clubs in Minneapolis are required to provide free earplugs, all you have to do is ask). I enjoyed the number of artists that were painting on site (and one even on stage!) at this event. Lots of vendors selling their crafts as well. Since there's so much space on this top floor, there are a number of areas where you can relax away from the music and do something else for a bit. Fans were set up around the dance floor and the seating areas in case you got too hot. Oh, and speaking of seating areas, there were plenty! I always had a place to sit when I wanted it and I never had to get in somebody else's space when finding some place to relax. Overall, I'll definitely be coming back to The Loft. They seem to have good artists playing there frequently and I love their reasonable security policies. read more

Was there Saturday and have to say one of the best Dance Clubs in Minneapolis. My friends and I had a blast. Great Music, great setting.

I went with some friends to see Lookas at The Loft, and found the experience to be exceptional. The atmosphere was "lit af" while the staff was warm and inviting, and the facilities were clean and well maintained. The door person, Nate, greeted me with a welcoming smile, and worked diligently to make sure my arm hair didn't get caught in the VIP wristband. We were then escorted by a congenial fellow with flowing blond hair directly to a table next to the stage, where we were showered with hospitality for the remainder of the evening by the attentive service staff. The entire crowd was "vibing" throughout the evening, and giant smiles were present on every face in the crowd. I would highly recommend The Loft to anyone looking for a great place to enjoy some quality music and good times with their squad. read more

A lot of straight Women come here to feel safer than most other clubs/bars, but that also does bring in the straight men who want to take advantage or pick up queer Women hoping they'll have a threesome with another Woman, instead of respecting boundaries and human beings. A diverse crowd of sexualities is available here Security has been doing better recently about safety. They have 3-4 security guards constantly walking the premises. There are 3 different music dance rooms with different genres. Typically it's a white music room (Katy Perry and Black eyed peas, Justin Timberlake), Black music room (T pain, Jay Z, Megan Thee Stallion, and a mixed room (Rhianna, Pitbull, Shakira, Bad Bunny, Lady Gaga, Cardi B) . As well as a pool/arcade area and the drag room with the stage. The music could be updated to not play republican or abusive artists like Kanye and Nicki Minaj They do not tolerate underage drinking at all, so don't even try it here. If you under age drink at home and come drunk, you will not get in. They have different nights for different events, but you can always find fun no matter the night. The drag is my favorite part, there is a diverse cast with rotating talent, they do have a regular set base cast as well. Mercedes is the GOAT. she's incredible. The gay 90s sets out to create a truly inclusive space for everybody, despite race, gender, disability or sexuality. Straight men looking to take advantage, often visit here so just keep an eye out for them. You'll notice they travel alone or in packs of two they also keep to the edges sometimes. Keep an eye out for each other ladies and thems. People do get drugged here occasionally, but over all not as much as other places. The bathrooms are surprisingly not gross, there is good privacy and 3 different locations.

It makes for a great after work happy hour downtown or a great spot for a more formal date night. Located inside the Indigo hotel. Plenty of on street metered parking on surrounding blocks. Will be back.

This last Saturday, the 6th of April, I went to the Minneapolis Pancakes and Booze Art show in The Loft at The Skyway Theater! It was amazing, I had a wonderful time. :] The atmosphere was really great and it was such a perfect venue for the event. There was art from local artists covering every inch of the walls, and the DJ was playing perfect background music! Also, they had all you can eat pancakes filled with fruit and covered in syrup and chocolate, they were the BEST pancakes I've ever had pretty much. :D And of course the bartenders were mixing up some amazing drinks from the three bars that are spread throughout the venue. They also had a cool photo booth set up where you could snap your photos for free and find them later on Facebook! All around it was a great time; my friends and I ate pancakes, drank beer, looked at art and just hung out and talked. I would recommend this venue for anything, and I definitely plan on going to more events in the Loft at the Skyway Theater, definitely a cool scene worth checking out! :) read more

I recently attended Real Trap Shit as well as Gent & Jawns at The Loft in downtown mpls. Both nights were very different but I enjoyed every second. Although Real Trap was sold out I still had a great time moving about the front of the venue while the music was playing. It was a little hard to get to the smoking patio but luckily the security was working on a traffic flow which allowed in an out access. Gent & Jawns was not sold out so I was able to bring my light toys and get in some great practice while hearing some sick beats. Will for sure be going back this weekend for Supreme & Bloodthinnerz! read more

This reviews a little late... but I went to the Shivers/Subfiltronik show on July 12th in The Loft. The show was awesome! The Loft seems to be a good space for shows like that, it's really open and fits a good crowd! There are a couple bars up there as well so it's never difficult getting a drink. The staff I talked to were all really nice too! The only downer was the cleanliness. It isn't the nicest of spaces in that aspect. But what can you expect from all the crazy dubstep shows that go on in there?! read more

This is a neat venue. I came for the Mt. Eden/ Bar 9 show a few weeks back and had one of the best times ever. Dub shows are always hot but this space had a bar near the back where you could grab a drink and cool down by the fan in order before heading back into the crowd. For a smaller venue, this place was wonderful. Also the outside smoking patio was amazing. I don't actually smoke but my friends and I wanted air, we could still the show from outside which made it even more amazing! read more

The Loft is on the fifth floor inside The Skyway Theatre. I went out to see BassRiot in concert. I really like The Loft because it's just as good as catching a show in the other smaller venues I've been to in downtown. I had an excellent night with my friends, had great drinks, and the crowd was jacked with energy. I think it's definitely worth checking out this place for concerts. read more

The Loft is a fun and unique venue as you have to take an elevator upstairs to get to it. There are 3 different bars in the venue total. It's pretty big. I like to see dubstep shows there. There was a candlelit art show there last month that was really fun! You can tell this is a party spot, but it's very spacious and the cover is usually on the cheaper side. Fun place! read more

Just went to the Govinda show at The Loft and I had an awesome time! Great music, people, service, and atmosphere. The Loft was really easy to find and I found parking available close by. The Loft is definitely a great spot for electronic music lovers who enjoy a more intimate setting! The bartenders are quick and awesome, and the music they bring in is unreal. A sweet place to go to, if you are trying to leave the main Barfly area for a bit. Has couches and space and holds concerts. I liked how it was a little less intense after leaving the Barfly dance floor gave me a place to catch a breath and relax. Prices are pretty much the same as the Barfly ground floor. read more

Another Awesome venue located in the heart of Downtown Minneapolis. Tons of Popular electronic acts have performed here and they keep coming. This venue is big enough to throw a good sized event yet small enough to keep an intimate setting. read more

Went here for Sexy Party! Great Venue, didn't have to wait long for drinks. Every room had music so it was easy to hop between musicians. I would recommend going to The Loft it is one of the better music venues in Minneapolis read more

Obviously the loft is barfly. They use different names as they are shady. Worst music choices and crowd. Go there if you want to be a part of a tacky crowd and dance to the worst old songs possible. read more

Every time I go to a concert here all I wanna do is dance and never stop! Atmosphere and energy is great, the staff is respectful and tries to encourage a great time among the customers! read more

Great location with an option to get some fresh air outside if you are hot. I have had a lot of good times seeing artists here and I think it is the perfect size for a medium sized show. read more
