I'll start with the pros: the decor is fantastic, they host awesome drag and burlesque shows, and they have a cute patio. If you are meeting a large group for casual drinks, this is a great place. However, we went for brunch (wanting food) and were very disappointed. We wandered in, sat down and then waited. There was no indication that you order everything at the bar. I had to go up and ask to get this info and menus. Our cocktails were fine, but my tater tot egg dish had 3 tatter tots and I was still hungry after. The sausage patties were literally inedible- you could not cut them with your fork. The breakfast burrito came out well, so that item seems safe. I ordered mozzarella sticks after (because I was still hungry), and they were ok, but had a very heavy breading shell. Overall, great ambiance, but I can not recommend going for food. read more

Great place to go for a drag brunch. I've stopped in here for a snack or a drink or two before, but this is the first time I went for a drag brunch. The tickets were cheaper than most places around, the comedy by the host is better, and the dancers were excellent. The drag show area is excellently done with professional lighting, full sound system, and dedicated bar. I can't comment on the food after this visit. I just got the ultimate Bloody Mary, which came with a mini-donut, chicken wings, bacon, celery, and more so it was basically a meal on its own! It was great, well mixed toppings were delicious, and it came with a chaser (the champagne of beers) All in all a great place to come to for a few drinks or a drag brunch! read more

Went here to celebrate Halloween. It was a lot of fun seeing/guessing everyone's costumes. They had a drag show happening in the theatre area. It got super hot with everyone squeezing into the area & moving around. Definitely some unique odors. I will say I loved the level of them using the screen to match the theme of the performances! The drag outfits/costumes were on point! They had a list of featured drinks which was cool. Some were served it cute light up cups. The main room with the bar had a DJ and of course a dance floor going. It got pretty crowded at some points. Parking sucked in the area. I parked across a bridge + 2 blocks into a neighborhood. Seemed like a quiet neighborhood but not sure I'd recommend if you are alone! I seen several people take chances and illegally park in many areas. Also don't recommend, in the event of an emergency it made some areas very tight when people shouldn't have been parking there anyways. Was a fun time overall. read more

I came here for drag bingo, which was a lot of fun. Def recommend it. I believe they have it every Wednesday and Sunday (??). The only thing when we were playing they have like strobe lights going which made it hard to see the bingo cards. I just ordered wings and fries. They were good nothing special. The service was good. Pleasantly surprised at the family friendly drag brunch. Despite being packed service was amazing and had no issue splitting up checks. The food was excellent, if you are GF you will have to ask for items to be omitted. The drinks were delicious and not too strong. The show hostess was excellent! I love Lush! I've been several times for different drag events and it's always a good time. They have a pretty decent menu and their food is surprisingly good! I've had a few different items but I love their burgers and the mini corn dogs. I like that their kitchen is open late as we've gone after going out because they still serve food. Service is always good, sometimes a little slow but they are busy so I get it! In the main area, sometimes the music is a little loud to visit but that's understandable. They have a nice outdoor area. The only tricky thing is that parking can be hard to find on busier nights! read more

Went to Thursday night Trivia at Lush. It was a fun event even though we tied for 8th place out of 17 teams. We had nachos and an impossible burger. And chocolate cookies straight out of the oven for dessert! The food server who delivered the food was so friendly and nice. The food orders are taken at the bar, which is a bit odd. All of the food was delicious, and we loved the drink specials. Like the big windows in the space, and how it's decorated. We will definitely come back! read more

Pride 2022: stopped many times to celebrate pride 2022! It was a great time, they had an oversized outdoor area with a stage and pop up bars. Great job on such a successful weekend! Food we tried off the menu: Chicken tenders and potato wedges- ok... these chicken tenders rival another bars chicken tenders and I think they are officially better here! Good job! Dunk them in some ranch or honey mustard and you will enjoy! Breading was light and crispy. They also use chicken and they feel like they are handmade vs food service. I'm not normally a potato wedge fan, but you've change my mind and a few others! They were seasoned perfectly throughout. Yumm! The poutine (I didn't eat due to not eating pork). Suggestion... do a impossible sausage gravy as an option? (Since you already have the impossible burgers?) I would love to try it at brunch and I would guess others would too! Went for a weekend drag brunch and had such a great time! The performers were so engaging and fun, and it was clear that they wanted everyone to have a good time in a safe and positive way. I loved how diverse the audience was, it felt like such a glimmer of light to see all kinds of kinds enjoying the show together. The French sip/french toast cocktail was perfect for brunch, but so addicting! Now, I wouldn't necessarily come back for the food. It was fine, just a very basic menu and taste was good enough to eat and not complain but I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend. I went here yesterday with a group of coworkers to play drag bingo and it was an absolute blast! They do drag bingo every Wednesday with 10 rounds and an 11th black out round that has an opportunity to win $1000! The staff was very friendly and did a great job running bingo! The group I was with goes every week and this was my first time joining them. The vibe in this space is inviting, fresh and cool. The food was enjoyed by all of us. I did get a sprite and that tasted like the machine hasn't been cleaned in awhile... you all know the taste. Next time I'll go for a mixed drink. One thing to keep in mind, the parking over here can be tricky as a lot of it is street parking. Make sure you are parking somewhere you can, watch for signs! Wowza! This place is a must see show! They do Saturday and Sunday brunch and 10pm Friday and Saturday night shows. Great for birthdays, bridal parties, Bach parties, retirements, and many more The host and entertainers were top notch with amazing crowd interaction and dance moves. The layout of the space does make it hard to get your tips noticed by the dancers but I recommend handing it to them or putting it on the stage at another point in the show. The food was delicious- I got the veggie burrito and my friends go the French toast and the sausage gravy biscuits. Drinks- delicious and they were eager to bring more when asked. Only con- PARKING! There is almost NO parking in the front so try parking on the street. Be aware of parking restrictions and safety. Don't walk too far alone in the dark. read more

I was visiting for a week for a softball tournament and we found this gem for a brunch. It's a big space with an outside/patio section, private space for the drag show and regular bar and seating area. It has a modern feel but still gives the vibes of a queer bar. Our server was awesome and was very honest about food and drink items on the menu. I highly recommend the biscuits (we got all 4), the pancakes and their version of fries. Update 2019: I went to the drag show with friends in March and we had all reserved seats but at different times. It was the evening of my husband's memorial. We asked the host if we could all be seated together and told him my husband had just passed. He refused, and did not give a reason why. I've been back once since but lost my enthusiasm for the place. Why be jerky? The remainder of this review is from 2018. I must say I am lukewarm on the new menu. The removal of the deviled eggs and the salmon was sad. It's not that the newer items we tried are not good, it's that you don't need to throw all the older good stuff out. It's like they decided those things were not classy or 21st century enough and got rid of them. Hey, not all of us Lush fans are 26 year old foodies, we deserve a few menu items too! I pre-ordered tickets which were not costly and there was also a cover to get in. The line was fast and we were seated together even though they were sold out and some of my friends didn't get tickets. Lush was recently remodeled. There's a bar in the middle and a small dance floor in the main area. The stage for events is in a separate room which is small and intimate. Bathrooms are in between the two. Bathrooms are shared sex and clean. The line goes fast even though there aren't many stalls! We didn't get any food but I know they offer vegan options. I can't wait to go again! The atmosphere is so kind. I believe that Lush originally was a lesbian bar, now it just feels like an all queer, everyone bar! read more

It was my cousins' birthday and of course they had to celebrate with the girls of the Lush Drag Brunch. I want to say tickets were something like $15-20 for the show and the buffet (of course always carry your $1's for tipping!). Happy that they had bottomless mimosas that we could enjoy during the entirety of the show. Blood Mary was pretty average and probably wouldn't get that again. Brunch food was kind of a win or lose- win was the breakfast cake confection, lose was the sausage that was so hard I could barely bite it. However, I obviously did not go for the highest gourmet experience. The actual drag show was awesome! I have never seen so much talent in one place. Everyone had fantastic outfits, chose catchy tunes, and could really work those dance moves. They were also super sweet and interacted with the crowd afterwards. I owe my daughter thanks for introducing me to Lush. I'd never heard of it and I'm glad that I now know of this wonderful place. If you have a problem with gay people, don't come here. Everything about this place is gay, and I love it. There was even the guy with the obligatory penis tattoo, and the guy with shorts so low, we thought he might be tea bagging the ice for water glasses. I had the Farmer's Breakfast with eggs cooked hard (yuck on loose yolks) and the bottomless mimosas. I don't normally drink or even like mimosas because the champagne is typically a brut. I HATE brut. These mimosas are WAY too easy to drink. I had only three or four (maybe??) and was glad that I wasn't driving. Everything about my meal was perfect. The toast, which is one of my favorite things in life, was as toast is meant to be: Crispy without being too dry and not over buttered. The eggs weren't killed, though cooked perfectly for me. The sausage links are a little small, though still tasty. The bacon was nicely cooked, as well. Our server was so sweet and funny. He reminded me of a boy I had a crush on in high school. He, too, was gay. I've heard that they have a drag brunch and other drag events. I'll have to come back and catch one of these events. So, if you're not homophobic and want a great time with excellent food, this is the place. read more

Let me just get this out of the way, their food isn't 5-star brunch cuisine, but when you are four or five mimosas deep into the morning it sure does taste like it! When I go I always get the St. Anthony Slam breakfast sandwich and bottomless mimosas. I crave their creamy hash browns like CRAZY when I am hungover, haha! Want to know the best part about this place? The people. Not only are the servers absolutely amazing, but the people who go to brunch here are always so happy to be there too. Lush please STEP UP YOUR SERVICE. I would be so totally in love with Lush if it wasn't for the fact that they have brutally slow service. We arrived there around 1:00pm on Sunday and granted, this is a very busy time of the day to be there, but their staff should know how to handle it. The parking lot was full, so take note that you may have to park elsewhere. Lush has a "hip" feel to it so don't come here in your sweats y'all...it's not the place to be making poor wardrobe decisions. I love the decor and all of the natural lighting that comes through the windows. & yes, the trees inside are real. Some of the tables are a little high for a short girl such as myself, but I still like their interior design regardless. When we entered, the hostess told us, "It will be about an hour wait for a table, but you can mosey on over to the bar and try to find a spot." We walked toward the bar and instantly find two open tables near the bar so we claimed the table. It took awhile for our waiter to come over to us, and when he did, he took our drink requests but did not give us any brunch menus. We waited for about 20 minutes before he brought over waters and mimosas. Even when he brought our drinks over, he did not bring us any menus. He did seem rushed, and looked like he was breaking a sweat. My friends who are regulars at Lush said: "We love Lush but they have the worst service." My friends and I didn't quite understand what was going on because our waiter kept passing by us, but never with menus in his hand. Eventually, my friend attempted to stop him and ask him for menus, but he kept walking briskly away from us and ignored my friend's request. 15 minutes after that, he finally came to our table with menus. We also had to wait awhile for him to come back and take our orders, but their brunch was all the rage so remaining patient ended up being worth it. I went for the Brunch Burger ($11), and my friends chose the Saint Anthony Slam ($10) and the Eggs Florentine ($11). Our grub was fabbbbb. My burger was a piece of art...piled with bacon, a fried egg, and melted cheddar cheese...I was sold. Their brunch selections paired with some bottomless mimosas was pure heaven. The hash browns are more like a risotto/mashed potatoes in texture but hey, they were delicious even if they weren't crispy. Brunch here was the best choice we could've made for our Sunday Funday. Word on the street is...Lush has 2 for 1 drinks on Friday from 4-9pm...can't be beat! If you can't make it in for happy hour, go get your $12 BOTTOMLESS MIMOSAS Y'ALL! A review on the nightlife aspect of Lush: Dec. 23rd, Christmas Eve Eve: What's the best thing to do during the holidays when you live 1,500 away from your family? Drink whiskey and watch burlesque, of course. Actually, that's a pretty good idea to do any night of the year. And I had a blast doing so at Lush. First of all, every friday night their Happy Hour specials include 2 for 1 well/rail and call/shelf cocktails from 4-9pm! They also have $5 HH food until 7pm on Fridays too! They have other weekly specials like all day Taco Tuesday specials. Lush hosts drag shows, burlesque, awesome live DJs for dancing, trivia, bingo, among many other attractions. It's very LGBTQ-ccentric, which I love and you should too. There's a huge main bar and lounge area, mezzanine area (though I didn't check it out, it might be private), a large room with side stage, and outdoor patio. I recently saw Black Hearts Burlesque here, and their show was beautiful, hilarious, diverse, and sexy. The entertainment and eye candy paired well with Lush's seasoned fries and cheese curds. Shout out to the "Frequent Flyers" from The Aviary who whooped it up with me in the front row! TL;DR Lush is great lounge for drinking, drag shows, bingo & trivia, dancing, and I hear their brunch is great too. read more

This is a gay bar that is open to everyone. It is bright, loud and modern. There is an outdoor patio with a small section that is covered and has heaters. There is also an event center with a stage where brunch is served with a drag show every Sunday. The food is very good. Lots of choices including things for each dietary restriction, gluten-free, vegetarian, etc. There are food and drink specials every day. The staff is welcoming and accommodating. If you need a venue, James, the event coordinator is super responsive and suggests things that you might not have thought of. They do everything possible to make everyone feel welcome and encourage a fun and inclysive atmosphere. If you want to dance, eat or drink, this a great place. If you want to talk you can go outside or somewhere else but the bar area isn't the place for that! read more

I don't know where to start. LUSH is the most inclusive, fun and entertaining space in the city. They have shows all the time- drag shows, burlesque, comedy, art, BINGO! Their drinks are strong and priced well, plus they have awesome happy hour deals and drink specials. I have had 2 private parties here and the service+food+ space was excellent. The parking is plentiful and you are still close to everything if you want to start here and venture around. If you park in the free open lot, it gets locked at night so your car is safe until you pick it up in the morning- who else does that? This review is regarding my experience as it regards the food. The meal choice chosen did not match what was served. I chose the Egg, Cheese, & Sausage Biscuit Sandwich. Received a burnt biscuit, and egg sandwich without cheese. There were also pickled purple onions on top. This meal was not edible even after I took the onions I didn't order off. The server kindly brought an alternate meal of French Toast. The dough was hard, dense and dry. There was zero syrup There was a tasty fall inspired dollop of frosting on the side of the plate. I did bring this meal home as it had potential. A one minute warm up in the microwave saved this dish. Butter and real maple syrup elevated this to a dessert like experience. I've been to dinner and shows at similar establishments that had the option of buying just the ticket or meal and event ticket together. I truly wish this was an option at Lush to buy just a ticket. The atmosphere was nice and the performers were amazing. I had a good time as I sipped my cocktail. I sent an email to the business and didn't receive an acknowledgment. I stopped into Lush Bar on Friday night for the first time - it is a pretty nice bar and a great addition to the Minneapolis gay bar scene. Minneapolis gay bars are known to be dumpy and not well maintained - but Lush is brand spanking new and has a great open bar area on the main floor with high ceilings so it feels very spacious. There is a smaller room off to the side with a pool table. The bathrooms are very clean with very nice fixtures. Lush also have a nice outdoor patio for the smokers. Holy Mimosas Batman!!! My favorite place to go for bottomless mimosas for sure! I've actually only been to Lush FOR mimosas so I can't say much about their night time activities. If you want to get a group together for some day drinking and a bunch of laughs make sure to spend a Sunday here! Every time I've been to Lush's brunch has been with a group of 8-12 and seating can be somewhat tight, especially if you haven't made a reservation so make sure to call ahead! The service has always been friendly though and the servers are well aware that things in the restaurant can be hectic when it is busy. The mimosas are served by the pitcher and they are refilled very frequently so don't be shy about the fact that you've probably lost count of how many you've downed. The brunch menu is also heavily stacked! My go to is the classic eggs Benedict which has a perfectly cooked egg and creamy hollandaise sauce, but the star of the plate (especially after a pitcher or two of mimosas) is the creamy hash browns that they serve as well!
