My husband was reluctant to try the homestyle syrup, but you cannot go back to maple syrup after having their homestyle. The biscuits were fluffy and buttery, and the gravy was rich and had plenty of breakfast sausage to give it some bite. We have made the trip to Durham three more times since our first visit. They were super busy when we visited, and I was super hungry and bummed because I thought I might have to wait a long time to get my food, but the lone lady working behind the counter was whipping around taking orders and making food as fast as she could, and she did a great job. I didn't have to wait long at all for my food despite how busy they were. Two interesting things about City Sundries. One, there's a room upstairs with lots of games, a pool table, foosball, an old-school arcade game and couches to sit on and hang out. And two, this place is also a store with lots of gifts to purchase. (I guess that's where the "sundries" part of the name comes in.)
