For a small town, such as Lindsborg I'm always a little bit surprised when I remember there is not just one, but two really decent locally owned and operated coffee shops. During our last visit, we stayed at an air bnb that was really close to the Blacksmith - which is the other local coffee spot in town. I'd gotten used to popping over for an am coffee before visiting my in-laws, when I walked over one morning only to find that they are closed on Sunday. What?? After the initial shock wore off I remembered that just down the street there is the White Peacock, and I was overjoyed to find them open and full of happy baristas. The White Peacock has a really charming, comfortable, non pretentious vibe to it. It's bright, filled with local art, and really gives off a feeling of them wanting you to stay and enjoy your coffee. They offer are large variety of flavors and the last time I was here I picked out a cardamom iced coffee - I loved that they were paying homage to their swedish roots and had to try it. It was wonderful. I hate that I'm always such a skeptic when it comes to coffee in small towns, but the White Peacock has honestly proven me wrong so many times over the years it's earned those five stars. Pro tip: If you decide to come on a Sunday plan to wait in line since they are the only coffee shop open. I managed to time it just right but when I walked out the door the line was at least 10 folks deep! read more

The vibe is lovely. Eclectic seating with local art and pottery (pricey but gorgeous) with a quaint nook inside street view for solitude or intimate conversation. Stool top tables at the perfect height and an adorable outside rear enclave that's perfect for small groups surrounded by flora and gentle waterfall. Remember to head the notice for the high priest chairs are reserved for specific hours for a local artist who happened to arrive while we were there. A couple of tables and chairs for streetside gathering. Food Menu is the only thing lacking the fifth star at this coffee shop. Perhaps the bakery next door would have been an option for the food item but the coffee was sublime and the joyful attendee was lovely to receive us. Highly recommend! read more

What a pleasant little coffee shop! Loved that they had work by local artist. We bought the homemade cinnamon rolls and a white mocha lavender coffee with almond milk (It's delicious!!) Surrounded by bookcases and books, this is a perfect place for a meeting or a study group! As a matter of fact, there were bunch of small group guests in the restaurant. With friendly welcome, I tried to order the lunch sandwich on the top of the menu but all I could say was "This sandwich I don't know how to pronounce" and the server was like "I got it!" It's displayed as "Det Baste" - I am sure it means "The Best" in Swedish. It turned out a very simple sandwich but it was delicious - turkey, cheese and berry sauce between croissant and hot pressed. I never had hot pressed croissant in my life. The size wise - it could be snack or small lunch. I loved the quote on the wall (see the pic). Super cute place, there's more seating to the right through the back, and the food was AMAZING. We will definitely be back here on our next West bound trip through Kansas. There's an amazing campground near Kannapolis Lake and we plan to make this a regular stop of ours. The Waffle is SSSOOOO delicious, and if you get it with the crepe thin pancakes the lingonberry jam can easily be used on the waffle as well. read more

Fell in LOVE, this place is so cozy, we stumbled onto it looking to at least get something to drink while having to commute somewhere else to find a place to eat (everything is closed in this small town due to Covid) this little gem has breakfast, lunch and delicious drinks. I had their cheese melt croissant, and wow!!!! They have plenty of sugar free syrups to go with my coffee which is a dream come true for any bariatric patient. This is a nice, clean little Swedish coffee shop. Ordered the croissant sandwich with turkey lingonberry jam, cheese and bacon it was sooo goood. Also got other great things pancakes (crepes), cranberry lemon muffin- it has lemon curd inside!! Leprechaun frappe, peppermint latte and Carmel frappe All delicious, they have a huge selection of coffee drinks, teas and cream sodas. There was inly one girl working when we went in she was amazing, taking all the orders then making everything, she was super nice and cool under pressure. Before we left someone else came in to work the register thank goodness as a large crowd of teens came in at the same time. I would make the trip out here just to go here if around salina again. We stopped here for breakfast on a cross country trip. The Swedish heritage was the initial draw, and the White Peacock looked like a good offering for breakfast. What a great find! Crepes were wonderful, coffee hot, and the cinnamon roll perfect. We sat out back on the garden area, it was early and we had the place to ourselves. Staff was super friendly and we struck up warm conversation with them and some locals. They pointed out a few tings about the town as well, which I have to say is lovely.
