The food is very good. Of the many times we have eaten here, I have not found anything that was not good. Wait staff is great. They keep my glass full, which is one of my pet peeves. We have only had one visit where the service was lacking. But I'll assume the woman was new. The only negative is the parking lot can be a pain when they are really busy. read more

Came in at 10:45, was greeted promptly and seated down. The whole staff there was super friendly and welcoming. Like going to a family house having morning breakfast. Everything was seasoned right, not heavy and just down right hearty. Coffee is warm and right temp, and the complimentary monkey bread.. come on! They paired so well. Crab Benedict - eggs poach to perfection! Asparagus salted right. Everything covered in that nice unbroken hollandaise sauce. The only comment I have is maybe a slice of lemon for additional acid for the customer. I ordered their Triple D (all four). To grab a taste of what breakfast is all about. Biscuit and gravy, delicious.. homemade fluffy biscuit and that gravy, so savory... this dish can fill up a giant itself. Banana bread - so soft and moist. Not too sweat, and remind me of a sticky toffee pudding. Just right out great. Crispy cornhash - great cook in the cornhash, good season, great easy egg to combine them together.. mix mix mix, bite bite bite, all gone.. Lastly timi benedict - again, perfect eggs... great cook on the maple bacon, had enough pepper and sweat to bring a unique spin to a classic. We loved the local feel..seeing the collegiate sport team highlighted.. Now for the food...I am ABSOLUTELY STEALING this menu item!! Pork Belly & Grits. I choose poached eggs (Our server even asked how "poached" I wanted the egg) love that touch When I ask our Server about their corned beef and hash. She replied "everything here is homemade". She saw the look of disappointment in my face as I really love homemade corn, beef hash. She then suggested why don't you go with this menu item where you could actually get two breakfast entrées split down into one cohesive plate. What a brilliant idea! We came to this diner at the glowing recommendations of a local friend, and we can definitely see why! The wait was 45 minutes but WORTH IT. Three words. Fried. Pumpkin. Roll. We tore that apart in about 10 seconds, but that wasn't the only star of the show! The crab cake Benedict was great! I'm from Maryland, so I know my crab cakes. This one gets a gold star. The banana bread was high recommended by our gracious server, and we even got a lil chocolate dipped bacon on the side because I was curious to try it. It's unusual but it works. I always visit the Doo-Dah Diner for breakfast whenever I am in Wichita. It has that diner vibe combined with an impressive display of pride in the city of Wichita. It is easy to miss the uphill entrance from the frontage road into the parking lot, so keep your eyes open. The parking lot is relatively small and may be full during busy hours but there is plenty of street parking nearby. The entrance is attractive and is your first glimpse of that pride I mentioned. Once inside, the hostess greeted us with a welcoming smile. We were seated immediately but when it gets busy, there is plenty of comfortable seating for your wait. While there are burgers and lunch food, I always order breakfast. My favorite item is the Banana Bread French Toast. There are plenty of options for those who require gluten-free or dairy-free. The décor is...whimsical, as it should be in "Doo*Dah" diner, and demonstrative of the pride in Wichita. It is worth a walk around to take it all in: sports, music, WSU, accomplishments...anything that Wichita has done well. Even the restrooms support the themes. Every year and a half when I visit Wichita this is usually one of the first places I have to go to! I love Doo-Dah! If the price of the shirts did not start at $30 I would of purchased one already! This time I got the Brutus with chicken gravy and it was delicious. It comes with extra crispy hashbrowns topped with chicken fried chicken smothered in gravy and topped with scrambled eggs. Our table also got the Triple D andTimi's Benny and everyone loved it. Our waitress was Laura who is an veteran of the diner- been there over 14 years I believe. Man, this was a quaint little cafe that we almost didn't go to but are glad we did. There was a bit of a wait for a table on a Saturday mid-morning (for 2) but in the end it was worth it. The wait staff was one of the most friendly in recent memory and they gave us free monkey bread to get us started (and that was a great start in my book). I love biscuits and gravy and I ordered 2 biscuits when 1 would have filled me. Portions are large - be careful not to over order... unless you want to. LOL read more

For breakfast my husband had Timi Benedict, he thought the hollandaise sauce was a tad more lemony than he usually has but was very delicious that way with the bacon. I got The Benny, corned beef hash and biscuits in gravy. I judge the place by their gravy. If the gravy is good, it's a legit place. The biscuits and gravy were to die for. Husband chose the chicken fried wagyu with eggs, and I got the corned beef hash with green sauce. substituted the Banana bread French toast instead of regular toast. The complimentary monkey bread set to the tone for our meal and I knew right away this was going to be a great experience. REAL food, made with REAL scratch ingredients. No mixes, and no shortcuts. The waiter brought us free monkey bread to go at the end of our meal. We left at 1:30 just before closing. The monkey bread tasted not fresh and was the only thing there that was a 2 out of 5 stars. The grits were creamy and the pork belly was tender and sweet. My wife's egg benedict was great, but a lot. I almost finished my plate. Staff checked on us several times. They bring a generous sample of monkey bread to your table like an Italian restaurant would bring bread. Nice touch. Here's the thing though.. Even if the food hadn't been amazing, which it was, I would go back just for Derek. Seriously! I've been in customer service for over 40 years and he is top notch.
